PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Temporary Closure of All Schools in Bauchi State Due to Security Concerns

The Bauchi State Government wishes to notify the general public that all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions—including Federal Government-owned schools and private schools—are hereby closed with immediate effect.

This decision, though difficult, was taken by the Government of Bauchi State after extensive consultations and in response to overwhelming security concerns affecting the safety of students, teachers, and school communities across the state.

The government is fully aware of the inconvenience this may cause. However, the protection of our children remains our highest moral responsibility. Every student in Bauchi State deserves to learn in an environment that is safe, stable, and free of fear.

We therefore call on parents, guardians, school proprietors, and all concerned stakeholders not to panic, but to remain calm and cooperative. The government is working closely with security agencies to address the concerns swiftly and comprehensively, ensuring that normal academic activities resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

We also urge citizens to remain vigilant. If you see something, say something. Timely information from the public is crucial in safeguarding our communities.

The Bauchi State Government will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.

BAUCHI SUBEB DISSOLVES EDUCATION SUPERVISORS AND VISITING TEACHERS

The State Universal Education Board have dissolved All Area Education officers and school support officers across the twenty local government areas of the state.

The State chairman universal Education Board Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri announced the dissolution while interacting with Education secretaries of the twenty local government in Bauchi.

Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri said others affected by the dissolution are Arabic and Christian visiting teachers, Early Child Care Developement and Education supervisors and library supervisors of the twenty local Education Authorities are also relieved of their duties.

Adamu Mohammed Duguri said the dissolution is part of the ongoing developmental strategy of a comprehensive overhaul of monitoring and supervision structures across the twenty local Education Authorities in the state.

The SUBEB chairman therefore directed relevant sections in SUBEB and LEAs to ensure a seamless transition in safeguarding records and ongoing initiatives.

He said henceforth only school support officers by UBEC/SUBEB and LEAs will be recognized for the Job.

He said appointments will be made in due course by the respective education secretaries where new guidelines for the selection of school support officers have been developed to ensure a standardized and effective process.

He noted that the guidelines would be provided to all the LEAs to guide the selection process henceforth by enhancing the quality and consistency of support provided to schools.

Adamu Mohammed Duguri added that the measure is designed to strengthen our Educational oversight improve service delivery and enhance learning outcomes across our schools.

The SUBEB chairman therefore directed all affected officers to report to their respective LGEAs headquarters immediately for onward assessment and documentation.

The committee set up by the state universal besic education board SUBEB, on the abscondment of some teachers have resumed assignment by inviting the absconded teachers before the committee.

Most of the Teachers who appeared before the committee have pleaded guilty and promised for a change of attitude in future.
The Teachers were found absent when the state chairman BASUBEB Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri paid an unscheduled visit on schools resumption on fifth may 2025.

The schools affected during the visit are Sabon Garin Gubi, Gubi, Nasarawan Kundum, Kundum, Guru, and Dungal primary schools all in Bauchi LEA.

Bauchi SUBEB Hands Over Learning Materials to 20 Local Governments

The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has taken a significant step towards improving the quality of education in the state with the official distribution of learning materials to 20 local government areas (LGAs) comprise, text books, writing materials, digital iPad and school bags,

The event, held at the SUBEB Secretariat in Bauchi, was presided over by the SUBEB Chairman, ably represented by the Permanent Secretary of SUBEB. The Permanent Secretary officially handed over the materials to the Permanent Secretaries of four LGAs, signifying the commencement of the distribution process.

The Chairman, in his message relayed through the Permanent Secretary, emphasized the crucial role of these materials in enhancing learning outcomes for students across the state. He urged all Permanent Secretaries to ensure the materials are distributed equitably and efficiently to the designated schools within their respective LGAs.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the Bauchi State government to prioritize education and provide necessary resources to ensure quality learning experiences for all students. The distribution of these materials is expected to directly impact the learning environment and contribute to the overall improvement of educational standards within the state.

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri is taking bold steps to address the issue of absenteeism among teaching staff in Bauchi State.

He's particularly concerned about teachers who fail to report to work multiple times, and has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the education system, especially at the basic level.

To tackle this challenge, Duguri has invited 57 teaching staff from various Government Junior Secondary Schools and Primary Schools, including GJSS Miri, Gumli, Haka Yafi, Tsohon Kamfani, and Guru Junior Secondary School, to explain their misconduct.

This move demonstrates his resolve to checkmate the activities of teaching staff, particularly in rural communities.

Under his leadership, Duguri aims to ensure that teachers take their responsibilities seriously, and that students receive the quality education they deserve. By monitoring basic schools across the state, he hopes to identify and address the root causes of absenteeism and improve the overall learning environment.

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri has sought the support of Directors and other Staff of SUBEB Headquarter's to discharge their duties diligently with a view to change the narrative of Basic Education in the state.

Adamu Duguri made the plea when he organised a meeting with SUBEB Director's and other Staff of the Board, on the need of every Staff in the board to contribute his quarter towards architecturing the basic education system and moving the Board to the greater level.

He noted that some of the SUBEB's Staff are coming to office very late in the morning, saying under his leadership the board's will not tolerate such kind of misconduct of duty.

He used the medium to called on them to fear Allah and discharge their duties effectively for smooth running of education system in the state.

Earlier speaking during the meeting, The permanent Secretary of SUBEB Alhaji Abdulhamid Mohammad Jibrin stressed that the Board will take necessary action on every staff who find guilty by mismanaging the SUBEB mission.

He also thanked the SUBEB Chairman for organizing this important gathering, assuring their readiness to give the necessary cooperation to him as Executive Chairman of SUBEB to achieve the desire objectives.
