CHAPTER 11🔥 12

Ivy sluggishly leaned her head onto Justin's shoulder, only to pull away with a sleepy laugh. "We should sneak home," she murmured, the words barely out before she started laughing, finding her own suggestion hilarious. Justin nodded, chuckling along, even though he couldn’t quite understand why everything felt so off.

As Ivy tried to stand, her legs wobbled, and she slumped back into the chair, sending them both into fits of laughter. Watching her, Justin attempted to rise but stumbled, catching himself on the edge of the table before collapsing beside her, their laughter echoing through the cafeteria.

"Alright, one more try," she said, giggling as she reached for his hand. He grinned, clasping her hand as they both made another attempt, supporting each other like a couple of clumsy kids.

Giggling like kids with a shared secret, Ivy and Justin managed to sneak out of the school gates, holding onto each other as they swayed with each step. The fresh air hit them, and they burst into another fit of laughter, trying to keep quiet but failing miserably.

With a slight struggle, Ivy pulled out her phone and, after fumbling with it, managed to call an Uber. They waited on the curb, leaning against each other to stay upright, their heads occasionally tipping forward as if in sync.

"You know, when I get home, I'm taking a hot bath. I feel so overheated," Justin said with a smirk as they waited for their Uber.

"Yeah... me too," Ivy murmured, giggling.

He paused, leaning in closer. "Do you have any idea just how hot I feel right now?" he asked, his voice low and teasing.

"How hot?" she asked, meeting his grey eyes.

"Hot enough that I really just want to have s*x," he said, his voice trailing off, a hint of a grin playing on his lips. Her cheeks flushed almost instantly.

"Are you feeling that kind of heat, too?" he teased.

"Um... I don’t know," she stammered, fanning herself with her hands. But now, she could feel her own warmth rising—maybe even a heat like his.

When the car pulled up, they exchanged a triumphant grin, stumbling into the backseat. Ivy gave the driver her address, and the two of them fell into the seat, muffling their giggles. The driver glanced back at them with a raised brow but didn't ask questions, and they leaned into each other, feeling like they were on the best adventure of their lives as the car pulled away.

Ivy could feel her cheeks still flushed, her heart racing a bit faster with every shared look. Justin's words lingered in her mind, making her feel an unfamiliar mix of excitement and nerves.

They sat close, her head occasionally resting on his shoulder as he held her hand, his thumb tracing gentle circles against her skin. Both of them were too wrapped up in the warmth and the moment to care where they were headed.

Every now and then, one of them would laugh softly, pulling back slightly to look at each other with a grin before leaning in close again, unable to shake the magnetic pull between them. As the car continued down the road, they felt as if they were in their own little world, the outside blurring away.

As they reached Ivy’s house, they stumbled through the front door, barely able to keep from laughing. Justin grabbed her hand, and they made their way upstairs, shushing each other despite no one else being home.

Once inside her room, they both flopped onto the bed, lying side-by-side, catching their breath from their fits of giggles. The soft mattress felt like it was melting beneath them, and Ivy let out a contented sigh, rolling over to face him.

Justin mirrored her movement, his gray eyes meeting hers, and for a moment, the room went quiet. They both lay there, still feeling that strange warmth and light-headedness, neither quite wanting to move.

"Damn... I didn't talk to Kulture before leaving school," Justin muttered, glancing up at the ceiling. Ivy rolled her eyes and turned to look at him.

"Oh, leave her out of this," she said with a grin, nudging his shoulder. He chuckled.

"Are you jealous?" he teased, his eyes glinting with amusement. They both burst out laughing, the sound echoing through the room. Neither of them really knew what was so funny, but in the moment, it didn’t matter.

"Maybe..." she murmured, still giggling as she tried to hold back her smile.

"Hmm... honestly, I think she kinda looks like a monkey," Justin joked, and they dissolved into laughter again, each laughing harder than before.

The laughter slowly faded, and Ivy found herself just staring at him, feeling lighter and more carefree than she had in a long time.

"So, you were dating a monkey?" She teased, raising an eyebrow at Justin. He frowned at first but then burst into laughter.

"Come closer," he said, motioning her toward him. She leaned in, bringing her ears close to his red lips.

"I want to tell you a secret," he whispered, his voice low and teasing.

"I don't actually like any of my girlfriends. I just date them for free p***y," he confessed with a mischievous grin.

She couldn't help but burst into lauughter. "You're such a pervert," She said, still giggling.

Justin turned to face her, his smile widening as he asked, "So, tell me... who are you crushing on?"

Ivy looked at him, chuckling. "No, no... I’m not telling you. It’s a secret," she said, bursting into laughter.

"Why?" he asked, grinning even wider.

"Because... it’s a secret," she repeated, her eyes slowly starting to close.

“Secret,” he echoed, watching her intently. She nodded, biting her lip in that familiar, shy way, and when she opened her eyes, she noticed him staring at her lips.

"What?" she asked, smiling slowly.

He chuckled, a bit nervous. "Have you ever kissed anyone before?"

She shook her head. "No… unless you count when our lips brushed that one time," she said, and they both laughed at the memory.

The laughter faded, leaving a gentle silence between them. Their gazes lingered, shifting naturally to each other’s lips, as if caught in an unspoken question neither of them dared to ask.

Justin’s smile softened as he continued to gaze at her, his eyes drifting down to her lips again, a mixture of curiosity and something else unspoken in his expression. Ivy’s laughter had faded, leaving them in a quiet, almost charged moment that neither of them had expected.

“So... does that even count as a kiss?” he whispered, still holding her gaze.

“I don’t know,” she murmured, her voice barely audible. “Maybe it’s only half of one.”

He let out a low chuckle, his breath brushing against her cheek. “Do you... want to know what a real one feels like?” he asked, a bit hesitantly, but his eyes were serious.

Her heart raced as she looked at him, feeling a warmth rise up to her cheeks. After a brief pause, she gave a tiny nod, her eyes flicking to his lips. Justin moved slowly, closing the space between them inch by inch until his lips brushed against hers—soft, warm, and everything she hadn’t expected yet somehow wanted.

The kiss started soft, just a gentle brush of his lips against hers, but it was enough to send a spark through her. Ivy’s heart pounded, each beat echoing in her chest as she leaned in, instinctively deepening the kiss. Justin’s hand found its way to her cheek, his thumb brushing lightly against her skin, anchoring her to this moment as the world around them seemed to fade away.

There was a hesitation in their kiss, as if both were testing the waters, savoring each second. But as the seconds passed, the nervousness melted into something warmer, more certain. Ivy’s hands slid up to rest on his shoulders, feeling the solid warmth of him under her fingertips, grounding her. Justin tilted his head slightly, letting their lips fit perfectly together as they fell into a gentle rhythm, each moment drawing them closer.

When they finally pulled away, they lingered just inches apart, their foreheads touching, breath mingling as they tried to steady their racing hearts. Ivy opened her eyes, meeting Justin’s gaze, and they shared a soft, almost shy.

Neither said anything, both caught in the quietness of the moment, their hearts still pounding from that tiny spark between them.

"Now... that's how a real kiss feels," he whispered with a playful grin, his voice barely above a murmur. Ivy chuckled softly, her heart still fluttering, and they shared one last smile before closing their eyes, the warmth of the moment wrapping around them like a blanket.

In the quiet, with only the sound of their breathing, sleep swept over them almost instantly, leaving them curled up beside each other, dreams filling the space that words had left behind.

~~

Ivy’s eyes fluttered open, her head throbbing with a sharp, pulsing pain that made her wince. *What happened?* she wondered, disoriented. She turned, and her gaze landed on Justin, still asleep beside her. A groan escaped her as she struggled to piece together the scattered fragments of the day before.

'Weren’t we just at school?'

Her eyes went wide as memories began to flood back, bit by bit, until it all clicked into place. 'Oh no.' Her hand flew to her lips, remembering the kiss. 'We… kissed.' She glanced at Justin, still peacefully asleep, unaware of the whirlwind inside her.

“Why did this happen?” she whispered to herself. She could barely believe it. 'Justin had kissed her.'

A surge of panic hit her. 'What if he remembers?' Things would be so awkward between them.

Heart pounding, Ivy slipped quietly out of her room and headed to the kitchen. She grabbed a glass, filled it with water from the sink, and drank it down in one go, barely stopping to breathe. The coolness did little to calm her nerves as she leaned against the counter, hoping she could keep this secret hidden—or that maybe he wouldn’t remember at all.

Ivy leaned against the kitchen counter, her mind spinning as she replayed the events in her head. How had things escalated to that kiss with Justin? The memory left her cheeks flushed and her heart pounding, and she wasn't sure if it was from excitement or dread. What if he remembered everything as clearly as she did? Their friendship might never be the same.

She poured another glass of water, drinking it down quickly, hoping it would somehow steady her nerves. Her fingers traced her lips absentmindedly, still tingling from the kiss, and she couldn't shake the feeling of both thrill and panic that bubbled inside her.

"Please don’t remember," she murmured, staring at the empty glass in her hand. "Let’s just pretend it didn’t happen."

Just as she was lost in thought, a hand slipped around her waist, pulling her back to reality. She jolted, but instantly recognized the familiar cologne, a scent that made her tense up.

"Justin isn’t here, so no need to act like a moron," she muttered, trying to brush off the hand, her patience thinning.

But the grip didn’t loosen, and his breath brushed her skin as he leaned closer.

“I saw you both,” he murmured, his lips grazing her neck. She shivered, feeling a mix of discomfort and irritation.

"Can you stop?" she snapped, twisting away, her voice firmer this time as she met his gaze, determined not to let this ruin her day any further.

“You know, you should be thanking me,” Trevor said with a smirk as he finally let go of her.

“Thanking you?” Ivy scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Why would I ever do that?”

“It’s simple. I’ll give you a hint…” He leaned in, voice low. “I made what happened between you and Justin… happen.”

She stared at him, confused, until realization struck her. Her eyes widened in horror.

“What the f**k, Trevor. You drugged our drinks?”

CHAPTER 9 🔥 10

Ivy stood outside Justin’s door, her heart racing as she tried to steady herself. It felt like she’d been staring at the door for hours, running through a hundred different ways to explain what had happened, but none of them seemed right.

Finally, taking a deep breath, she opened the door. As she stepped inside, her gaze fell on Justin lying on the bed, his face scrunched up and squeezed against the pillow, his features contorted in a mixture of discomfort and exhaustion. His eyes were shut tight, and his brows were furrowed, deep lines etched across his forehead. His mouth was twisted, lips pursed, and his jaw clenched, giving him a pained expression. His body was sprawled across the bed, limbs splayed out in every direction, conveying a sense of utter relaxation and surrender.

The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast a warm light on his tense face, accentuating the tension in his muscles, and for a moment, she stood there, frozen, taking in the intimate vulnerability of the scene before her, she just watched him, feeling a pang of guilt.

“Justin…” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. He didn’t respond, didn’t even turn his head to look at her.

Swallowing, she moved closer until she was standing right by his bed. “Nothing happened between me and Trevor,” she said softly. “It was just Trevor being… Trevor.”

At her words, Justin finally looked up, his expression guarded. “Trevor being Trevor, huh?” he replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

“Yes,” she said, her voice firmer now. “Do you really think I’d want anything to do with him like that? You’re my best friend, Justin. He’s just… Trevor.”

Justin sat up, the frustration in his eyes evident. “I walked into the kitchen, Ivy. I saw him behind you, his hands on your waist, his lips close to your neck. And you’re telling me that I should just brush it off because it’s ‘Trevor being Trevor’? How does that make any sense?”

She took a shaky breath, struggling to find the right words. “I was caught off guard, Justin. I didn’t expect him to—well, to do that. But it didn’t mean anything, okay? I didn’t want it.”

He ran a hand through his hair, still visibly upset. “Ivy, it’s not about what you wanted or didn’t want. It’s about seeing you like that and feeling like… like you liked ir.”

Ivy stood frozen, her eyes locked on Justin's, feeling the weight of his words hit her harder than she’d expected. She took a shaky breath, forcing herself to keep calm as his frustrated gaze bore into her. He was hurt, and it was painfully clear that he was struggling to hide it.

“Justin, it wasn’t like that. You know I wouldn’t do something like that,” she said, her voice softer now. “Trevor was just… messing around, being his usual annoying self. I didn’t ask him to do any of that, and I definitely didn’t want it.”

Justin’s jaw tightened, his fists clenching by his sides as he sat up, still visibly irritated. “And you think that makes it okay?” he snapped. “I can’t just pretend I didn’t see what I saw, Ivy. It felt… I don’t know, it felt like you didn’t even try to push him away.”

Ivy blinked, trying to hold back the sting of guilt and frustration that was starting to build. “I was shocked, okay? He just came up behind me, and before I knew it, he was—”

“Touching you,” Justin interrupted, his voice quieter now but still carrying an edge. “And you didn’t do anything.”

She looked away, feeling the guilt settle deeper. “I didn’t know what to do,” she whispered. “But it didn’t mean anything, Justin. You’re my best friend. You’re… you’re the one I care about.”

For a moment, silence filled the room, stretching long and heavy. Finally, Justin sighed, letting some of the tension go as he dropped his gaze to the floor.

“Ivy… you know I trust you,” he said, his tone softer, almost defeated. “But Trevor’s my brother. It’s not easy watching him cross boundaries with you and just pretending it doesn’t get to me.”

“I get it,” she murmured, stepping closer, her hand reaching out to touch his arm gently. “I’m sorry, Justin. I should have handled it better. I’ll talk to Trevor and set boundaries. I don’t want this to come between us.”

Justin looked at her, his eyes softer but still tinged with doubt. “Alright… but I need to see it, Ivy. I need to know you’re serious.”

She nodded, her resolve firm. “You will. I promise.”

The tension between them slowly faded as Justin nodded, letting out a deep sigh.

“Trevor loves competition,” Justin said, a small smile tugging at his lips. “He always thinks he can win, but if he believes he can take my best friend away from me… then he must be pretty stupid.”

“Definitely,” Ivy replied with a laugh, and they both chuckled, the lightness slowly returning between them.

Justin stepped closer, looking at her warmly. Just as he leaned in, intending to kiss her cheek, Ivy turned her head to say something—only for his lips to connect with hers.

They froze, eyes widening in surprise before they quickly pulled back, both of them looking anywhere but at each other.

“I… I didn’t mean—” Justin stammered, rubbing the back of his neck, cheeks flushed.

“It’s… it’s okay,” Ivy replied, her own cheeks burning as she tried to suppress a nervous laugh. The air between them felt charged again, but this time in a way that neither of them quite knew how to handle.

"Okay... that was quite awkward," Justin said, scratching the back of his neck, a nervous chuckle escaping.

“Yeah…” Ivy nodded, still laughing nervously, her eyes darting to the door. “okay, bye!” she blurted, practically darting out of the room before he could say another word.

As soon as she closed the door behind her, Ivy paused, her hand instinctively touching her lips. The memory of the brief, unexpected kiss lingered, and she felt a shy smile tug at her lips.

Ivy made her way to her room, still feeling the lingering warmth from the accidental kiss. She closed the door behind her and leaned against it, her hand instinctively moving to her lips. A smile crept across her face, her heart fluttering at the memory.

She walked over to her bed, flopping down and covering her face with a pillow to muffle her excitement. "Get it together, Ivy," she whispered to herself, but the thought of Justin’s lips brushing hers made it hard to calm down.

Lying there, she replayed the scene again and again, wondering if he had felt the same spark she did.

She couldn’t wait to tell Stephanie about it. Ivy could already picture her friend’s exaggerated reaction, complete with wild theories and dramatic scenarios.

The next day at school, Ivy spotted Stephanie by their lockers. She rushed over, barely able to contain her excitement as she recounted everything: Trevor’s bold move in the kitchen, Justin’s reaction, and the unexpected kiss. Stephanie’s eyes widened with each detail, and when Ivy finished, she practically squealed.

“Oh, Justin was totally jealous!” Stephanie exclaimed, nudging Ivy with a knowing grin.

Ivy shook her head, laughing. “No way. He was just acting like any best friend would if they found their friend in a... weird situation with their brother.”

Stephanie shook her head, smirking. “Nope. Trust me, he has a little crush on you. Best friend, my foot.”

Suddenly, a voice interrupted them. “Who has a crush on you?” Ivy and Stephanie froze, turning to see Justin standing there, eyebrow raised.

They exchanged a quick, panicked glance before Stephanie smoothly replied, “Oh, just a school nerd crushing on Ivy, no big deal.”

Justin narrowed his eyes slightly, clearly unamused. He rolled his eyes, catching onto Ivy’s secret-sharing with Stephanie. He had never been a fan of how Ivy confided more in Stephanie, always feeling a bit left out just because he wasn’t “one of the girls.”

Stephanie gave Ivy a teasing smile and nudged her before walking away, leaving Ivy and Justin alone.

“So... a nerd?” he asked, nudging her playfully.

“Oh, stop it,” she laughed, giving him a gentle shove.

“What? You haven’t told me about any recent crushes,” he teased, raising an eyebrow. “Or has Stephanie taken over as your new diary?”

She rolled her eyes. “What, so you can meet him and tell him not to even look my way? ”

He chuckled, raising his hands in surrender. “No... I wouldn’t do that. Promise.” He watched as she turned to her locker, grabbing a book.

“Your girlfriend?” she asked casually, glancing over at him.

“Kulture?” he asked, trying to play it cool.

“Oh, excuse me, Mr. Pl***oy. Let me be more specific. Which girlfriend are we talking about?” she smirked, making him chuckle.

“Yeah, please do,” he replied, laughing.

“Kulture is... well, Kulture,” he sighed. “But honestly, she’s a bit too full of herself. I don’t like her attitude, and... let’s just say, she’s not that great in Sex.”

“First of all, I do not want to hear about your s*x life. Eww. And secondly, if she’s not the one, then maybe it’s time to move on,” Ivy replied, wrinkling her nose.

He laughed. “Alright, alright. I’ll figure it out soon enough.”

Ivy couldn’t hide her smile. She’d always felt Kulture acted like she owned the world, and it was a relief to see Justin finally noticing it.

“Anyway, class time,” she said, grabbing her books. “We have chemistry together, right?”

“Yep,” he nodded, draping an arm around her shoulders as they started walking. “Let’s go make some ‘chemistry,’ then,” he teased with a grin.

“Smooth, Justin,” she laughed, playfully rolling her eyes as they headed off to class together.

~~

Class ended quickly, and soon it was time for lunch. Ivy and Justin had made plans to eat together since they didn’t get to do it often. As they walked toward the cafeteria, Kulture appeared out of nowhere, striding up to them with her usual confident flair.

“Justin!” she called, reaching for him as she planted a quick kiss on his lips.

Justin gave her a polite smile. “Hey, babe.” He pulled back slightly, though, not quite returning the same enthusiasm.

“Can you come have lunch with me?” Kulture asked, batting her lashes.

“Actually, I’m having lunch with Ivy,” he replied, glancing at Ivy with a smile. “But you’re welcome to join us if you want.”

Kulture pouted for a moment but nodded, walking off ahead of them. Ivy rolled her eyes, trying to hide her irritation.

They grabbed their food and headed to their usual table, settling in when Kulture joined them moments later. She handed Justin a drink with a sweet smile, which he accepted.

As she sat next to him, her hands kept finding reasons to brush against him. After a while, she stood up to make a call, leaving the drink in Justin’s hand.

Justin turned to Ivy, holding it out with a playful smirk. “Want a sip?”

Ivy hesitated, eyeing the drink before finally reaching for it, her fingers brushing his. She took a small sip and set it down, trying to ignore the butterflies that somehow always surfaced around him.

As she another took a sip, Justin watched her with an amused grin before taking a drink himself. The soda was unusually sweet, with a strange aftertaste that they both noticed but shrugged off. They continued eating, laughing and joking like they always did, but soon, a wave of heat washed over Ivy, spreading from her cheeks down to her neck.

She glanced at Justin, who was fanning himself. "Is it just me, or is it super hot in here?" she asked, her voice sounding a bit hazy.

Justin chuckled, though his laughter seemed slower than usual. "Nah, I'm feeling it too... like, way too hot." His gaze drifted to Ivy, and his expression softened, a dazed look in his eyes. They both couldn’t help but giggle, feeling lightheaded and a little too happy for no reason.

Their bodies felt warm, almost feverish, and everything around them seemed softer, more vibrant. The sounds in the cafeteria felt distant, fading in and out, while their laughter became uncontrollable, echoing in their ears. Neither of them understood what was happening, but in that moment, it didn’t really matter.

They were lost in each other’s laughter, flushed cheeks, and goofy smiles, not noticing the concerned looks from people passing by.
