Chapters 68 & 69.
"Congratulation boss, anyway you have a pending meeting with the designing team and the shareholders. The deadline for delivering our designs oversees for the competition is close. But the design team have been working really hard so we almost done with everything." David said switching back to assistant mode. It was time to work.
"You have files piled up on your desk for you to go through and sign." David muttered standing and handing her some files, "you also have to go through these and sign it because it's urgent, I arranged them on your desk based on emergency status." He added.
"Okay, I want you to schedule the meeting with the shareholders tomorrow and the meeting with the design team tomorrow also. If there's no other thing then that be all" Kylie mumbled, collected the files from him and walked out going towards her office.
David bowed his head in acknowledgement as she walked out, it seems he was finally going to have some free time away from work. After she walked out, he picked up the telephone and called various departments to schedule the meetings for tomorrow.
Kylie worked through out the morning and was able to go through half of the files on her desk, she sighed as she stood up and walked towards the fridge. She picked out a bottle of orange juice, turned it into a glass and brought it close to her lips. Ah! So refreshing.
Her stomach grumbled in hunger making her sigh once again seems like she had to order some food, she was feeling hungry. Picking up her phone she was about to call her assistant when the door of her office was pushed opened, she raised her head to gaze at the person who dare to open her door without knocking.
Julie darned a smile on her face as she pushed the door to Kylie's door opened with her body, she had gone to the Smith's Mansion and found out what had happened. Before leaving Auntie Hannah had given lunchbox filled with different delicacy for Kylie because she (Hannah) felt Kylie would forget to eat anything.
Ah! She wanted to be pampered like this and enjoy what her friend was busy enjoying, but she was neither ready for marriage nor pregnancy so she would endure for a little while more. To her marriage was complicated and getting pregnant stops you from being irresponsible and she wanted to be irresponsible for a while longer.
As she pushed the door open and walk in she muttered in a loud voice "Cute innocent virgin am here, I came to visit you my dear friend " with a bright blinding smile on her lips.
Kylie rolled her eyes at her friends endearment for her, it seems like Julie wasn't going to drop that anytime soon, she walked towards her and helped her carry the bags that filled her hands. She wondered where she got these.
"What are you doing here, don't you have work or have you dumped all your work on your assistant once again, am pretty sure he is furious" Kylie remarked as she handed a glass of water to the lazy Julie who was lying on her couch like it belonged to her.
"I went to the Mansion to see you but was told you came to work, which you were not suppose to come. How could you Kylie you just recovered recently and you run off to work, I feel like opening up your brain to check the contents" Julie scolded with a fierce gaze after drinking up the glass of water. She was worried sick about Kylie, she wouldn't be able to handle it if anything was to happen to her never.
"I'm sorry Julie but I had to run away from home this morning, Ah! I was totally embarrassed" Kylie said with a sigh, she ploughed down on the couch opening up the lunchboxes that Julie brought.
"Yeah I heard from Kayla, everything that transpired and your reaction too. Why did you have to run away like you were being chased after?" Julie asked with a mocking gaze. Kylie always bragged about how she couldn't and wouldn't ever be embarrassed but now she ran away after a mere proposal what a joke!
"Hey don't say it like that, I felt overwhelmed and just acted on impulse. I cried because I was worried, what if he proved like everyone else he stops loving me and instead hates me after a while" Kylie muttered with a worried and sad expression, she could not afford to receive another heartache else she would break down completely.
She scooped up a spoon of rice mixed with bruised pork and stuffed it into her mouth when her stomach grumbled for the second time, she wiped off the droplets of tears away from her eyes and continued eating.
Julie could not help but sigh, she knew everything her friend had to go through. Her parents never showed her any care or love, she was none existent to them, Liam too lied to her and broke her into glimmering stars, her own twin hates her for no reason at all. She plunged herself up from her seat, walked to Kylie and hugged her.....
"Kylie baby I know you went through pain for as long as I can think of and can't help but doubt if he really loves you genuinely or not, you are afraid to open up your heart for the umpteenth time and get stabbed. You can't continue dwelling on the past my dear, not everyone hates you" Julie started
"You have a family now who treats you as their own and a husband who genuinely loves you from what I can see, I think you have to open up your heart not everyone is out to see you in pain and suffering. You have a life growing within you.. Become strong and mature and try to accept the love flowing out"

It doesn't matter how long it takes for you to become comfortable with it, take a step at a time and soon you will be a million steps ahead and won't remember your past."

Julia advised as she patted Kylie gently on her back continuously, she rubbed her hair slowly.
It make take a long amount of time for pain to always heal, it is not impossible to heal but time is the healer of all. You might want to give up or think the world is against you but the truth is a time will come when you will come to realization that these people who saw you as nothing and abandoned you, you will say to them thank you if they haven't maybe your like would have become worst than the pain you felt back then.
There is a time for everything and everyone to fulfil their Destiny's and to find true love, Kylie smiled gazing at the signed marriage documents in her hands. She think it was finally time to give life another chance not just for herself but for the life inside of her.
She dropped the papers on the bedside table and walked into the bathroom. After Julie had advised her during lunch time and left, she had pondered on her words and thought hard about it and well this was the conclusion she came to.
She wouldn't lose anything from trying after all, she had to do this for the sake of her little pumpkin. She didn't want him to grow up in an uncomfortable environment without the love of his parents and fights, if she had to learn to love him them that's what she was going to do. She will love his flaws and his beauty without holding back and even if he ends up not liking her anymore, she will make him like her more.
She had come home by 7pm in the evening and was surprised to find out he was not yet home, did she hurt him too much that he doesn't want to come home anymore was her thoughts but she forfeited it when mom told her he called to inform he would be out till late.
She was grateful no one mentioned what had happened during the morning, they had an harmonious dinner with Xander and Kayla's constant bickering, mom scolding them continuously and grandpa Daniel throwing in words at some points. She felt something off with him like she knew him before but she failed to pinpoint where and when so she shrugged it off her shoulders.
After dinner everyone returned to their respective rooms, she signed the marriage registration papers and laid them beside Nathan's bedside table for him to see when he gets back. She skimmed into the bathroom after checking the time which indicated time to be 20 minutes past 8pm, which was way past her sleeping time. She didn't realize it yet but her mind and body subconsciously await Nathan's arrival.
After taking a bath she walked out of the bathroom with a short and big t-shirt, it was cold outside and around but she was feeling hot so she put on the AC and wore light clothes. Her pregnancy made her temperature and feelings abnormal so she went along with it all.
She jumped into the bed and balanced herself properly fluffing out the pillows into the right places, she picked up her laptop from the bedside table and started working on the files which was left unfinished today.
Kylie yawned after sometime, she glanced at the clock on the wall and gasped in surprise at the time. It was half past 10 already, she logged out of her system and shut it down before placing it in it's previous location. She wondered why Nathan was not yet back at this time, was he that sad and hurt, did she hurt him very hard......she asked herself continuously worried.
Nathan climbed out of his car and strode into the mansion, he felt tired. He had worked through out the day to keep his mind occupied, so as not to think about the incident of the morning. Liam couldn't be saved by the doctors, they found out he had consumed a slow acting poison for sometime now and it's venom plus him attempting murder was the reason he died.
He wasn't worried nor did he care if he (Liam) died or rot in hell, that would make the person supporting in the sidelines cone out or reveal himself faster. He however felt stressed because he couldn't figure out what Liam about a certain weak boy.
He glanced up at the top of the mansion and was surprised to see his room light turned on, did she really come back home? He hoped she wasn't feeling angry and mad anymore. He quickly dashed inside the house, was she awaiting him? and stayed up waiting for me.
Or does she want to leave him and is probably waiting to tell him? He gently climbed the stairs going up with feather like steps. He didn't make a noise, he pushed the door to the room opened and was surprised to see Kylie sleeping on the couch.
He walked towards her and picked her up, she was laying without any blankets and her clothes were so light too, also the AC was on. He shook his head defeated by her, was she not cold why did she put on such light clothes and turned on the AC.....
He gently placed her on the bed and she continued sleeping without so much as waking up, it seems she was tired and drifted off into a deep sleep. He walked towards the bathroom to take a shower and change his clothes to new ones, he got in after pulling off his clothes only putting on boxers.
