In an emergency, every second counts. The difference between life and loss often depends on how prepared first responders/ health workers are,to respond.

On Friday, 19th June 2026, healthcare professionals across Edo State gathered for a training on Emergency Preparedness and Oxygen Use in Health Facilities, organized by the Edo State Health Regulation and Monitoring Agency (EDOHERMA). The training created an important opportunity for participants to strengthen their skills, share experiences, and enhance their capacity to respond effectively during emergencies.

The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of EDOHERMA, Dr. Adesuwa Urhoghide-Edigin, emphasized the importance of building a resilient healthcare system through continuous learning and preparedness.

Recognizing the critical role of first aid in saving lives, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Edo State Branch was invited to facilitate a session on First Aid in Emergencies. Through practical discussions and demonstrations, participants were equipped with essential knowledge to provide immediate care during critical situations, helping to bridge the gap between the onset of an emergency and professional medical intervention.

🩸 Every Drop Counts. Every Donor Matters.

Today, on World Blood Donor Day, we honor the selfless individuals whose voluntary blood donations save lives and bring hope to those in need. A single donation can provide a second chance to a patient, comfort to a family, and strength to a community.

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Edo State Branch, joins the global community in celebrating all blood donors for their invaluable contribution to humanity and encourages more people to become regular voluntary donors.

Together, we can ensure that safe blood is available whenever and wherever it is needed.

❤️ Give Blood. Give Hope. Give Life.
