TECH POWERED SAFETY
A New Dawn for Ndi Anambra State
Progressive Media Awka, Anambra State
Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, fondly known as Ikukuoma, is redefining the meaning of security in Anambra State through innovation and technology. Gone are the days of relying solely on outdated methods. His administration is setting up a modern security architecture that places the safety of lives and property at the center of governance.
Central to this vision is the deployment of solar-powered CCTV cameras across critical areas—major roads, markets, motor parks and busy urban intersections. These cameras will not just serve as deterrent but will be connected to a central security command center, enabling real-time monitoring and quick mobilization of response teams when incidents arise.
Ikukuoma’s approach isn’t just about watching—it’s about listening too. In partnership with local tech firms, his government plans to launch a mobile emergency app that empowers residents to report threats anonymously and instantly and with just a few taps, citizens can alert authorities about suspicious activities, ensuring that no threat goes unseen or unreported.
Beyond the technology, Ikukuoma understands that lasting peace lies in tackling the root causes of insecurity. He is championing youth development programmes that will lift thousands out of idleness. Under his leadership, the state will establish ICT training centers, promote startup entrepreneurship and build agricultural cooperatives aimed at empowering the next generation.
“An idle youth is a tool in the hands of chaos,” Ikukuoma warns, “but an empowered youth is a pillar of peace.” His words aren’t mere campaign rhetoric—they reflect a deep understanding that true security is built not just with cameras and command centers but with hope and opportunity.
Indeed, with Tech Powered Safety, Ikukuoma proves that the future of security in Anambra is not just about guns and guards but about innovation, inclusion and long-term solutions. It is a promise of peace, built on the firm foundation of technology and trust.
