CHAIRMAN LGSC DECLARES ZERO TOLERANCE FOR TRUANCY

The Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Awka, Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka, Esq., has declared, in unequivocal terms, zero tolerance for any form of truancy, be it lateness, absence without permission, or absenteeism.

He made this declaration on April 15, 2026, during an unscheduled visit to Orumba North and South Local Government Areas for an on-the-spot check aimed at ascertaining the level of workers' attendance.

The Chairman regretted that upon inspecting the attendance register in Orumba North LGA, out of 119 workers posted to the council, only 34 workers' names appeared on the register as of 10:00 a.m. In Orumba South, out of 144 workers posted to the council, only 60 workers' names were on the register as of 10:20 a.m.—a situation he vowed not to treat with levity.

Consequently, Vin Ezeaka, Esq., directed that the erring staff of both councils shall report to the duty post at his office in the Local Government Service Commission, Awka, for two weeks, while appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

Easter reminds us of the resurrection of Christ - a powerful symbol of victory, renewal, and hope. Just as He rose, we are called to rise above our old ways and live lives that reflect love, kindness, and righteousness.
