ARTMA REPORT
Monday, 11th May 2026
The Agency today held its first official parade following the May 4th reappointment of the Managing Director, Engr. Okonkwo Emeka-Konti, to outline the operational framework and strategic direction for the second tenure of Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR.
Key highlights and resolutions from the parade include:
✅ APPRECIATION TO MR. GOVERNOR
The Agency expressed immense gratitude to Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for the renewed opportunity given to the Managing Director to continue serving Ndi Anambra through ARTMA. The result of good work is more work, and this reappointment is a clear testament to the Governor’s appreciation of our collective achievements over the past four years.
✅ HEADCOUNT OF OFFICERS
A comprehensive headcount exercise was conducted to identify and eliminate ghost workers within the agency.
✅ DIGITALISED TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT
Deliberations were held on the immediate deployment of digitalised enforcement systems to eliminate friction between officers and traffic offenders, including the introduction of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras on traffic lights and major roads across the State.
✅ PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
Officers were educated on the need to adopt more professional and respectful approaches in dealing with traffic offenders, moving away from abusive conduct and all forms of thuggery.
✅ RE-KITTING OF ENFORCEMENT TEAM
Plans have been activated for the immediate re-kitting and repositioning of the Agency’s enforcement team.
✅ ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ONE-WAY DRIVING
Offenders who drive against traffic (One-Way) will have their vehicles impounded for three (3) months without the option of a fine. This strict measure has become necessary due to the numerous crashes, injuries, and loss of lives caused by this dangerous traffic violation.
Going forward, the enforcement team shall henceforth be known as SOLUTION ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS (SEOs).
