Yesterday, I had the honour of accompanying His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborewori, to Isiokpolo, where his son, Innocent Oborewori, tied the knot with Tobore Arigbodi, daughter of renowned Delta businessman and billionaire, High Chief (Dr.) Brodricks Uvieoghene.

It was a beautiful gathering of family, friends, dignitaries and well-wishers, who came together to celebrate the union of two families.

The occasion was marked by warmth, joy and goodwill as we witnessed the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the young couple.

I join both families in congratulating Innocent and Tobore, and I pray that their marriage will be blessed with enduring love, peace, understanding and abundant happiness.

May their journey together be long, fruitful and filled with beautiful memories.

Earlier Today,I paid a royal visit to His Imperial Majesty, Major General Felix Mujakperuo Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, at his palace in Oreropke.

The visit was a moment of great honour and fellowship, as I had the privilege of meeting with His Majesty, who also serves as the Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council. It was an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, mutual respect and unity among our traditional institutions.

I consider such engagements important in fostering understanding, cooperation and peaceful coexistence among our communities. Our traditional institutions remain vital custodians of our culture and heritage, as well as important voices in promoting peace, stability and development across Delta State.

I deeply appreciate His Majesty for the warm reception accorded me and my entourage. I look forward to continued collaboration and stronger ties between Asaba and the great Okpe Kingdom in the collective interest of our people and Delta State.

Yesterday, I received Commodore Usman Mainasara Bugaje of the Defence Intelligence College Abuja, and a team of trainees who visited Asaba on a study tour with theme “Strengthening National Resilience through Integrated Intelligence, Multi-Agency Coordination and Regional Security”

I shared with them the community-based intelligence mechanisms that have contributed significantly to sustaining peace and security in Asaba. I emphasized that effective intelligence gathering remains sacrosanct and that traditional institutions must continue to collaborate, brainstorm and provide useful information to security agencies.

I sincerely appreciate the Executive Governor of Delta State for his commitment to regular security meetings and reforms, which have contributed greatly to keeping Delta State peaceful despite its rich multi-ethnic character.

As traditional institutions, we must continue to support every effort towards building a safe, peaceful and habitable society.

Earlier today, I embarked on an inspection tour of some of the ongoing projects being undertaken by the Palace, as well as projects sponsored by individuals, corporate bodies and other organisations in conjunction with the Palace.

The inspection afforded me the opportunity to assess the progress of the beautification of the Kanebisi Statue and the Asaba Cemetery Project, among other initiatives aimed at preserving our heritage and improving the appearance of our great city.

I also visited the site of the Asaba Smart Modern Nursery and Primary School, which is currently about 80% completed. This is a project that will contribute significantly to the educational development of our children and the future of Asaba.

We further inspected the ongoing urban renewal project at the popular Ogbeke Square Roundabout, which, upon completion, will add beauty, order and greater value to that important part of our city.

At the Asagba Permanent Palace site, I inspected the construction of the Asagba Palace Event Centre, which I am personally financing. The Centre is designed to accommodate about 1,000 people and, when completed, is expected to be one of the largest event facilities in Asaba. We also inspected the Asagba’s Residential Building to assess the pace and quality of work.

These projects are not merely about structures; they represent our collective vision for a more beautiful, developed and prosperous Asaba. They are investments in our people, our heritage and the generations yet unborn.

I wish to sincerely express my profound appreciation to the sons and daughters of Asaba, at home and in the diaspora, for your numerous contributions, encouragement and unwavering support since my ascension to the throne. Your commitment to the growth and development of our community remains a source of great strength.

I remain fully committed to providing purposeful leadership and ensuring that Asaba retains its rightful place as a city of distinction, progress, peace and enduring cultural heritage.

Together, we shall continue to build on the achievements of the past, consolidate the gains of the present and create a brighter future for generations of Asaba people to come.

Long live Asaba.
Long live the great people of Ani-Ahaba.

Today, I made a historic visit to the Ibusa Kingdom—a visit that will forever be remembered as the first of its kind in the history of our two great kingdoms.

This landmark engagement was not merely ceremonial; it was a deliberate demonstration of our shared cultural heritage, mutual respect, and the enduring values that bind our people together. It symbolizes a renewed commitment to unity, peaceful coexistence, and the collective pursuit of progress for our communities.

As neighboring kingdoms, it is imperative that we speak with one voice on matters that promote peace, development, and the welfare of our people. Our strength lies in our unity, and together we can build a future founded on trust, understanding, and cooperation.

Regarding the issue of boundary delineation between the Asaba Kingdom and the Ibusa Community, I wish to assure our people that every legitimate concern will be approached with wisdom, fairness, and sincerity. We are committed to engaging in constructive dialogue and ensuring that the matter is resolved amicably within the shortest possible time, in the interest of lasting peace and harmonious coexistence.

History has presented us with an opportunity to deepen our relationship, and I believe that future generations will look back on this visit as the beginning of a new era of friendship, collaboration, and shared prosperity between the Asaba Kingdom and the Ibusa Kingdom.

May God continue to bless our kingdoms and guide us on the path of peace, unity, and sustainable development.

Today, I had the honour of gracing the send-off ceremony organised by the Asaba Community in celebration of the Otu-Ihaza Ahaba (2016–2026) set, whose years of dedicated service have contributed meaningfully to the peace, unity, and progress of the Asaba Kingdom.

I commend the members for their selfless commitment, discipline, and unwavering devotion to our community throughout their tenure. Their legacy of service will remain a source of pride and inspiration. As they hand over the mantle of responsibility, I pray that God Almighty grants them good health, greater accomplishments, and continued opportunities to serve humanity and the Asaba Kingdom.

As a way of encouraging every son and daughter of Asaba, and to reaffirm that dedicated service to the Asaba Community will never go unnoticed or uncelebrated, I conferred the prestigious Olinzele title of Asaba on Ogbueshi Uche Nwajei, Onoi Ahaba, and Ogbueshi Ike Monu, Oloto Ahaba, in recognition of their ten years of dedicated and meritorious service to the Asaba Kingdom.

I encourage all well-meaning sons and daughters of Asaba to always remember home and continually reflect on what they can do to contribute to the growth, unity, and development of our community.
