Former Delta State Governor and Delta North Senatorial candidate, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has called for unity and broader inclusion within the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging members to work together towards the party’s success.

Speaking at the launch of the Ekwueme Political Movement, Okowa commended the group’s founder, Evangelist Moses Kamaya and the 78 former APC ward chairmen for their efforts in bringing members together.

Okowa pledged to provide accessible and effective representation for Delta North, promising to work closely with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme and other elected representatives to attract development and address the needs of the people.

He urged members of the movement and other support groups to work within the party’s structure, engage communities and sustain their mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa was not called the “Road Master” for nothing. The name became associated with road networks and infrastructure projects that transformed communities across Delta State.

Asaba, in particular, witnessed significant infrastructure development that reshaped parts of the state capital and became a defining feature of the Okowa administration.

You have heard from the people. You have seen the records. Now, the focus is on the future.

Roads and bridges do more than connect places. They connect people, open up communities, support businesses and create opportunities for growth.

Between 2015 and 2023, the Okowa administration recorded significant investments in road infrastructure across Delta State, including major bridges, drainage systems and the Koka Junction Flyover in Asaba.

As Delta North looks to the future, that experience provides a foundation for stronger federal advocacy, improved connectivity and more development opportunities for our people.

Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has met with the Ndi Obis in Asaba as part of his stakeholder engagements ahead of the 2027 senatorial election.

The meeting, held at the residence of Obi Mokogwu, provided an opportunity for Okowa to discuss his aspiration to represent Delta North Senatorial District in the 11th National Assembly and exchange views with the traditional leaders.

Okowa described Asaba as a peaceful city that has experienced significant growth over the years, stressing the importance of preserving its cultural heritage and sustaining the role of traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity and community development.

He expressed appreciation to the traditional leaders for the opportunity to engage with them, noting that meaningful representation requires listening, building consensus and working collectively to advance the interests and aspirations of the people.
