Game Of Gods
Chapter 16
Written by Chris John
Wake! Wake!!
Derrick’s blurred vision starts to clear as he regains consciousness, waking up as the voice in his head told him to. Indistinct voice was everywhere.
He could feel fear in the voice that is resonating in his head. Not just fear, fear of something mortal.
What could have made my wolf scared? He thought.
He tried to reach out to the spot that was hitted to send him out of consciousness, not to check if it is painful because he was sure it would have healed but to satisfy the feeling that the spot needed soothing.
But instead of his hands getting closer to his head, the distance became wider by strong arms that held him tightly. Then Derrick successfully put the whole matter together. Indistinct voice, startled wolf, foul smell, familiar ones, arm in bo***ge, wolfs bane.
His eye flicked open, snapping out of his trance into a clear visual of his surroundings.
My wolf can sense the wolf bane.
“A dog is awake…..sorry” the blonde vampire corrected himself as Bellamy threw him a threatening glance.
“Its better you don’t try to shift or they will rip your limbs off”, Bellamy said.
Derrick kept growling and shaking himself, most especially, his head. His wolf wont just wait till the wolfs bane get into his blood stream. It is fighting off all detrainments Derrick put against it. It has never been as crazy as such.
“Fred’s consciousness returned and he started struggling against the hands that held him. But he was bludgeoned by the nearby standing vampires.
“Stop!!!” a voice ordered from their back. It was filled with command that is undeniable to the werewolves, even to Derrick. “Turn them to me”.
He never knew someone was behind them not until he was pulled roughly by the demons that held him to change directions. There was Williams sitting comfortably on the wooden-fashioned chair to signify his hierarchy as the strongest mutt in their territory.
Bellamy stepped forward, bowing slightly and avoiding eye contact with the lycan even his alpha ego was making it difficult for him.
“I think we should start with punishment now”.
Silence followed before William finally spoke.
“Do you have any word to say?”
“No. ther……”Bellamy’s voice faded when he noticed that the question wasn’t directed to him but to the captives.
“Any word to say to defend yourselves?” he asked again.
Derrick hated the pitiful look on the lycan’s face. He hated the fact that William and Bellamy think they are the best. He hated the latter for being so pathetic to threaten them so they won’t contest for the champion’s contest. He hated the fact that William dated his crush and dumped her for the ugly fellow he called a mate.
William was shocked and disappointed that Derrick replied with a snarl. He growled back to show he is in command. His eyes glowed golden yellow showing that he is in rage.
“You will not disrespect me in my territory”. He replied growling at the duo but was cut short when his mate made a feline walk towards him and implanted a kiss on his lips.
She broke the kiss when her mate was calmed and muttered something in to his ear before returning to her position. She didn’t leave without smirking at Derrick.
“You left me with no choice”, Williams said motioning to the others to start their punishment.
A vampire flounced towards the captive, holding two syringes above his head, purposely teasing the werewolves on his own side.
Even Bellamy tensed up, moving back slightly as the vampire bearing the wolf killer passed by him.
He raised Derrick’s head up to meet his glowing, red eyes and snarls. “I don’t bite” he said with a snarl.
That statement was familiar to him.
Suddenly, a shriek of pain erupted. Before he knew it, a wolf was down, hitted by the syringe of wolfs bane that darted across the room, barely missing Bellamy.
“Stop gazing and join me here”, the anonymous savior said, raising his voice so it will be audible amidst the commotion.
In full rage, Derrick roared as the vampires tightened their grip. Simultaneously, he flung them with his wolf strength, even his muscle almost ripped out.
He watched Fred who cunningly slipped out of his assailant grip with a stunt that made the vampires fall.
“Nice move, Fred”, Derrick gushed.
Fred smirked. “You should be thankful I called others”.
“What?” Derrick kicked a wolf. “How do you do it?”
Fred tittered. “It is high time we shift and teach these demons a lesson”. He ignored Derrick’s question.
At once, he shifted into a grey huge wolf but before he could gain his composure, a vampire lounged at him, wrapping his hands round Fred’s wolf.
Derrick reacted almost immediately to save his pal. Fred’s whimpering was heart breaking as he struggled to escape the demon’s grip.
A thick and huge vine lashed the vampire’s back before grabbing him by the neck, raising him high from the ground and slamming him into the wall.
Derrick sighed as Fred’s whimper changes into a growl.
A pink eyed feminine structure emerged out of the shadow.
“Anne”, derrick squealed.
“Guys, I need a hand here”, the anonymous savior voice turned out to be feminine. ‘His’ costume was destroyed and ‘he’ turned out to be Sage. Not just Sage, but Sage in a great dilemma against a big jet black wolf.
“Ohh!!” Fred exclaimed. “I can’t let Bellamy hurt her”
At once, he shifted into his wolf but before he could make a move, his work was done by a blast that sent Bellamy crashing into a tree.
Bellamy’s wolf whimpered as it struggle to get on its feet. After wards, it made a dash into the forest.
“Who did that?” Derrick asked no one particularly because he believed everyone was surprised as he was.
Almost immediately, a slightly built lad emerged from the dark part of the forest clothed in a thick, woolen dress.
“Elliot?” Fred exclaimed.
“You know the name”, Elliot smirked.
“You saved me”, Sage giggled, pulling off the almost destroyed disguise and clothing to reveal the shirt and jean she originally wore.
“I never knew you would be so brave to stick out your lazy ass down here”, Derrick said smiling at the magician.
“Are you kidding me?”
“Of course am not”
“Elliot, you are sweating profusely”, Fred noticed. The weather was warm as the land breeze refused to leave to the sea. “Is it not hot for you to put on this made for Alaskah coat you are wearing”.
Elliot wiped his face. “You don’t expect me to come here without something to cover up my scent except you want the demons to leave you and hunt me instead”’ he said with a playful sneer.
Elliot was fond of calling vampires demon. Not that they are not demons but they were in Legion where every supernatural lives together so it will be offensive to say it straight to one of the vampires except they don’t mind like Sage.
Derrick smirked and chipped in. I told you he is a chicker”
Elliot nudged Derrick. “I can take you down”, he said before hugging Anne.
“You wish”, Derrick replied
Sage said. “You could have just masked your scent as you did to Anne’s and mine”. She said as she rolled her eyes and clung to Fred’s torso then she muttered almost whimpering. “Before she boil yourself in a pot like cloth” she continued.
“I am human”, Elliot wrap his arm around Anne by the waist before he continued. “I have hidden my scent from the wolves but not from the demons. They smell blood not scent”
“Hey”, Anne snapped. “Don’t bother him. He made saving your ass possible”.
They all laughed and nudged one another. All was stopped when a thunderous clap sounded like a nuke behind them. They squeaked and turned quickly to the source of the noise.
“Well, well, well”, Williams clapped, standing slowly from the wooden throne where he sat watching the whole scenario. “What a wonderful reunion”.
No one talked. Silence was everywhere except for the inhabitant of the forest that chirped, howl and squeak.
“Don’t glare at me”, Williams squawked.
“And if we do?” Sage confronted him.
“You know you can’t take us all”, Fred added. “You are outnumbered.
“Let see”, Williams roared, followed by cracking of bones.
Everyone was ready to strike. Fred was growling, wanting to shift.
“Stop everyone”, everyone looked at Derrick confused. “He is mine”, he added.
“You have gut”, Williams managed to say before his head changed into his wolf and the rest of the sentence he tried to make became roar and growls. His beast was quite huge.
Without hesitation, Derrick shifted into his brown wolf. His team mates were surprised to see his wolf, bigger and more built.
He approached William for the duel, snarling and growling and threatening each others in the language of wolves.
Someone tapped Derrick but he ignored.
Williams charged at Derrick and threw a punch with his clawed paw. Derrick was ready to block the punch and return his with a bite on Williams’s chest but he felt the tap again. This time, it was stronger than the first. It distracted him and now it was too late to avoid the hundred pound punch.
As the huge paw was a centimeter away from his nozzle, his eyes flicked open and he unknowingly yawned.
“Asshole, get up and stop day dreaming”, Sage said as she tapped him for the last time. “We have to train”.
I can’t believe it was all a dream, Derrick thought. I wish it come true but not the punch part.
He stood up gallantly with the hope that his wolf was as big as that and followed others.
“Where is Elliot?” Derrick asked.
“He has class as usual” Sage replied.
They entered the training hall.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year in advance
