We are proud to share that Ms. Chinwe Okoli Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation and CEO of the Solution Innovation District (SID), has been appointed to the Global Steering Committee of the 43rd IASP World Conference, holding in Sophia Antipolis, France, from 27- 30 October 2026.

She is the only African on the Committee for this World Conference.

IASP - the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation, is the world's foremost network of science parks, innovation districts, and technology hubs. Founded in 1984, it connects over 350 member organisations across more than 70 countries. As a member of the Global Steering Committee, Ms. Okoli will help shape the strategic direction and programme of one of the world's most influential innovation gatherings, working alongside leaders from government, academia, industry and technology ecosystems worldwide.

This is a proud moment for Anambra State's innovation ecosystem under the leadership of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, whose vision of “𝓔𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓣𝓮𝓬𝓱𝓷𝓸𝓵𝓸𝓰𝔂, 𝓣𝓮𝓬𝓱𝓷𝓸𝓵𝓸𝓰𝔂 𝓔𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮” continues to earn recognition on the global stage. Since 2023, SID has trained over 264,000 residents in digital skills and mobilised significant private sector and development partner investment, positioning Anambra as one of Africa's fastest-growing innovation ecosystems.

This appointment gives Anambra a stronger voice in global conversations shaping the future of science parks and innovation districts, and opens new doors for partnerships, investment and knowledge exchange, ahead of a conference that will bring together many of the world's leading innovation ecosystem builders.

Good Friday – UdoJesus Calls For Sober Reflection

Top aspirant for the House of Representatives to represent Nnewi-North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Udoka Umeokonkwo (UdoJesus), has called for sober reflection on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for man’s redemption.

In his message to the constituents, Umeokonkwo said that Good Friday remains a powerful reminder of Christ’s selfless love, humility, and compassion - virtues he noted are urgently needed in leadership and public service today.

He stated that the season calls on individuals, especially leaders, to look beyond personal interests and embrace a spirit of sacrifice for the greater good of the people.

*Effect of good governance in Anambra under the leadership of gov soludo*

Good governance under Governor Charles Soludo has turned Anambra into a fast‑growing hub of infrastructure, technology and social services. His “Solution” agenda pushes transparency, accountability and inclusive planning, which has unlocked a N766 billion 2026 budget focused on economic growth, road construction, and welfare programs ¹. Over 400 km of roads have been built or rehabilitated, linking farmers to markets and creating jobs, while hundreds of kilometers of new highways and flyovers are already in use ² ³.

On the tech front, Soludo’s administration rolled out free public Wi‑Fi, digitised government processes, and earned national awards for e‑governance, making service delivery faster and more transparent ⁴. Education and health have also benefited: 8,115 teachers hired, free public schooling, upgraded health centres with solar power, and free antenatal care, cutting out‑of‑school children to just 2.9 % ³.

Fiscal prudence is another hallmark—no borrowing for consumption, with BudgIT ranking Anambra top in southern Nigeria for ease of doing business, attracting private investment and public‑private partnerships ³. Security improvements, youth‑skill programs and a “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative have reduced unemployment and curbed criminal activity in several LGAs ³.

This Christmas season, the spirit of giving was epitomized by our dedicated councilor, Hon chukwuebuka Okeke (Among), who took the initiative to share joy and warmth with his party Executive. Understanding the importance of connection and support during this festive time, the councilor organized a special gift distribution event, aimed at spreading cheer among residents of all ages.

The event took place at his house umunwehi by 8am ,where Party executives gathered to enjoy a festive atmosphere filled with laughter, music, and good company.

“This is a time for us to come together as a family,” stated Hon chukwuebuka Okeke “I believe that everyone deserves a little extra joy during the Christmas, and it's heartwarming to see how we can all contribute to this spirit.”

Anambra Assembly Passes Bill To Regulate Real Estate Agents, Developers

A bill for a law to provide for the establishment of the Anambra State Real Estate Agents and Developers Regulatory Agency has been passed by the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The bill, which went through legislative surgery, was sponsored by the member representing Nnewi South One Constituency, Honourable Nonso Atuchukwu.

He explained that the proposed law is aimed at creating and empowering an agency to coordinate and regulate the activities of estate agents and developers in order to ensure sanity, fairness, credibility and healthy land and property development transactions across the state.

Contributing, the member representing Onitsha North Constituency Two, Barrister Patrick Okafor, noted that the bill will help to sanitise the state’s housing sector by addressing issues of abandoned properties, multiple sales and resales of land, as well as the activities of fake agents.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, described the bill as important and beneficial to Ndi Anambra, adding that it will enhance confidence in real estate transactions and promote orderly development in the state.

Anambra State Independent Electorial Commission(ANSIEC) announce December 18 for Party Primaries ahead of 2026 Local Govt Poll

Political party primaries for the 2026 Anambra Local Government Election will commence on December 18, 2025, and conclude on February 16, 2026, the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has announced.

ANSIEC Chairman, Magistrate Genevieve Osakwe, who made the disclosure during a meeting with leaders of registered political parties in Awka on Thursday, said the primaries would be closely monitored by commission officials.

She warned that any exercise conducted without proper notice or outside the Commission’s knowledge would not be recognise.

According to the timetable, political parties will collect and submit nomination forms in February, while the screening of candidates will take place in late February and early March.

The final list of candidates will be published on April 1, 2026, which also marks the official commencement of political campaigns.

Osakwe urged political parties to nominate credible candidates and conduct issue-based campaigns, assuring stakeholders of ANSIEC’s commitment to delivering a free, fair and credible election.

Party representatives, led by IPAC Chairman, Comrade Uche Ugwoji, welcomed the timetable and pledged their cooperation with the Commission.

The 2026 Local Government Election is scheduled to hold on August 29, 2026, across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State.
