Bioresources Development Conference, BDC26.

We are please to announce that Dr. Ebinimi Joseph Ansa will be one of the the speakers for the Bioresources Development Conference, BDC26.

Dr. Ebinimi Joseph Ansa is a distinguished fisheries scientist, aquaculture expert, researcher, administrator, mentor, and advocate for sustainable development, with over three decades of professional experience in fisheries, aquaculture, aquatic resource management, and environmental sustainability. Born on 20 February 1970 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, she is the daughter of Chief Christian Otobotekere and Mrs. Timikoru Beauty Ikpaikpai, both of Tombia in Ekpetiama Kingdom, Bayelsa State.

Dr. Ansa began her educational journey at Port Harcourt Primary School in 1975, where her exceptional academic performance earned her double promotions. She later attended Holy Rosary Secondary School and successfully completed her School Certificate Examinations with excellent grades. Driven by a passion for biological and environmental sciences, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Port Harcourt, a Master of Science degree with Distinction in Zoology (Ecotoxicology) from the University of Lagos, and subsequently earned a Ph.D. in Fisheries and Hydrobiology from the University of Port Harcourt in 2006.

Currently, Dr. Ansa serves as Director and Head of Department at the African Regional Aquaculture Centre (ARAC), a specialized department under the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research and the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy. In this capacity, she oversees multidisciplinary research programmes, capacity-building initiatives, and aquaculture development projects aimed at advancing sustainable fisheries and blue economy development in Nigeria and across Africa.
