“Congratulations, your selfless act is going to get you killed!“
“My sister.“
“What?“ Anna asked
“She kind of behave like my sister.“
“Really? You have a sister?“
“Sshh!“ Leslie shush them as she heard faint footsteps, and they all remain silent.

“They will soon be here!“ He thought.
“pfftt, I mean, you are right, but they are still far away from us, you were only been able to hear them because of your hearing, you get?“
“Oh… but why do they seems to be in an hurry?“ Aiden asked referring to the Kalibres

“Go! Go! Go! Go!“ The Soldiers yelled as they are done bringing down the tent and packing up there things, living the dead bodies.

“Vummmm vummmm” the sound of the vehicle engine echoed across the desert and he stared to what left of her body while One of the kalibres drove the van away from the desert to another unknown location.
“Don't worry we are going to have our revenge“ His wolf said.
“Shut up!“
“Why? I'm trying to console you, you should accept my consolation not shut me up…”

“What do you think he is thinking?“
“I don't know, we shouldn't have taken him that day, you were so persistent and wouldn't listen to me!“
“What do you mean?“
“Look at where it brought us. Now, we have to start thinking of a way to tell him the truth, that is if we survive and escape from those pieces of s**t!“

“Telling him the truth is not a big deal!“
“It's not a big?… you are so unbelievable!“

“Don't you get? He freaking killed four fu***ng soldiers when he was angry, not one, not two, but four! Singlehandedly! He almost got all of us trouble yesterday night and few minutes ago, If you hadn't intervened he probably would have killed that soldiers, and we would have been dead by now!“
“Are you saying if we tell him the truth he will be so angry and kill us?“
“Easily.“ He added

“Oh spare me that Martha, that is because he doesn't know what you did. Wait until he knows what is truly up your sleeve!“

“No but, he might hear us.“ Elvis said and turned his face away from her

“Gosh, this is so bad more than I thought!“
“Dear Aiden, whenever you get to learn about the truth, I hope you take your time to make a right decision.“ Martha muttered under her breath

One hour later they arrive at the spot Kalibre's had used for abode the previous night.
“The bodies are still here?“
“Is this what they want us to see? They want us to clean up their mess, by leaving traces of them, knowing fully well we are up in their tail.“ Carol said out loud frustrated.
“We came all this way to pick dead bodies? I don't think so, search the area!“ He ordered and the search began.
“What are we looking for detective?“
“Anything, that could lead us to them, anything!“
“On it!“
“I should probably go join them.“ Carol said to him.
“Of course, you should.“ He replied, she left to join the search he went to examine the bodies.
“The kalibres has a thing of killing people, it will only make sense if what ever they had for them is on the bodies right?“ He thought, and walked over to the fresh body. He knelt beside to take a proper look noticing the bulky chest of the fresh body.
He wore his gloves and deep his hand in his chest to take it out, disgusted by the body.
“Of course, my instincts are not right, it's just the Kalibre being stupid.“ He said sarcastically and went to check out what ever was there inside the nylon.
He walked over to his car to take it out only to find a camera.
He check out its contents, but it only has a video, he then press the play button.
“Hello there detective, I know you must have been looking for a way to get to me, in other words, to join me in my live…” he paused the video
“What? How the f**k did he know?“ He muttered.

Previous night*****

“Go home and take a good rest, we have a long day tomorrow. You need it.“ he said gently as soon as he heard the opening of the the door and the footsteps that get louder as they get close to him
“What are you doing?“ Carol asked instead
“as you can see, I'm doing my job detective. Untying the loose ends.“ he said releasing his hand from the akimbo position and walking away from the board to drop the market
“So what is the first loose ends we have to untie first?“ She asked walking up to the white board.
“Find the survivor?“ She read out loud
“Yes!“ He said walking away from the room. Once the door is shut, he brought out his phone and went to his call log, strolled down to a contact saved as Cole, tapping the call button, he brought the phone to his ear and waited for the contact to receive the call till The ringing stopped, he did that again for a while before he stopped calling, and call someone else instead, one of the officers that his profession is technology based and is assigned to work on the case with him.

“Hello detective!“
“Yes, hmm, Do you know of a way we could join the live video of the Kalibre?“
“Hmm, yes, but we still won't be able to get their location.“
“It's not about the location Drew, just something else.“
“Okay, we just have to…”
“Don't tell me the procedure, once he is live let me know…”

“How did he know?“ he plays the video.
“… Live update, watch this to the end, it contains the necessary information you will need to successfully do that…” He stopped the video from playing.
“Dang it!“ He muttered.
He put the camera back into the nylon and wanted to keep it to himself, “There is a spy among us, whoever this spy is, knows there is something like this here, if I keep it without letting anyone know, this will give the spy an idea that I knew that there is a spy, if I do not?…” he thought.

“Guys! Found something!“ He yelled at the cops, and they all started coming back from their searching.
“Really? Where did you find it sir?“
“In the co**se body, now let's take the body for research.“ He said.
“What was in it?“ Another cop asked.
“I doing know, let me check..“ He said and put on his gloves, he had taken it off earlier.
“A camera?“
“The IT team, will be working on it, and also it will be taken to the lab, we need to check of any finger print.“

“Sir, we found tire trails!“
“Again?“
“We should chase after them, the body and the tire trails are still fresh they probably left this morning.“ Carol suggested
“I don't think we should do that yet, if we do the victims will be all dead, them leaving the trails shows that they know we will follow it and thereby leading us to a trap they probably set for us, we should leave and re strategize to catch them once and for all” he explained.

“But who is the spy?“ He thought.

Chapter Four

____First of all, Introduction.

He got into the building, and search for her.
He got to the door which she was held hostage after some contemplation he kicked it open leaving them in a state of shock and dismay as they stopped what they were doing and faced him.

“Let them go!“ He shouted aloud at them as he stepped into the room. They stared at him for a while before laughing out loud.
“What if we don't?“ One of them asked him immediately the uproar stopped.
“Then you are going to have to defeat me before you can have them” he answered and walked closer to them closing the door behind him. He doesn't want to pick a fight with them but he had said it before he could stopped. He uses his eyes to gently scanned the number of the keepers in the room that he just make a fight deal with. “9! There are freaking 9 of them! Great.“ He thought.
He saw the girl of earlier on the floor and he wonder what would have happened if he hadn't came in…

One of the keepers who spoke earlier stood up to him, staring at him in the eyes, “You want to get into fight with us because of those piece of s**t?“
“Watch your mouth dummy!“he answered in his head. But he said instead, “those piece of s**t are worth more than your generations full existence.“
The keeper chuckled turning his back to stared at his people, with his eyes telling them what to do and they all stay at alert in position, he turned back just as he has done and tried hitting him.
He caught the punch, “Too slow!“ He said to him and he threw his left fist, he caught it too, “Too predictable.“ He said to him again and the keeper grits his teeth, the others that already stood in position emerges to attack him, giving the two girls freedom and time to run. He shared a eye contact with them signifying for them to run.
Thrashing the keepers will be a piece of cake for him.

He was 5 years old when Lord Anex had attacked their home, taking it away form them after killing their Alpha. Unlike some unlucky kids, his father and sister was able to survive the war.
His father used to be general for their soldiers and he was taught basic fight skills right from when he was a kid and when the war ended his father take it upon himself to train both him and his sister all the fighting skills he knew before he was later killed two years back, he is 21 now. He took care of his sister after their father's death, and he lost her too a year after his father's death.

“I told you to run!“ He shouted at the girls he is sacrificing his obedience for as he saw them fighting off the keepers along side with him, especially the girl from earlier. He never knew she could fight, she doesn't look like a person who do.

The heavy sound of the broken door make them stopped what they were doing as they stared at the broken door to see Lord Anex general along with a few soldiers.
“The Alpha want to see you all!“ He announced and marched them together with the keepers to Lord Anex's Court…

“That's all?“ Anna asked as soon as he finished narrating his own side of the story. As soon as they got to Anex's Court the day before, they were locked up because he couldn't see them. So, Apparently, their death day has been postponed because anybody who grace Anex's Court is either killed or Imprisoined for ever.
“What is it are you called?“ Anna asked
“I don't think that is important right now.“
“Why did you followed me?“ She asked
“It should be why did I saved you and your friend. I could used some thanks, you know.“
“Not until I know the reason behind your disobedience.“
“Common Leslie, don't be cold. His selfless act saved us” Anna nudged her.
“Congratulations your Selfless act is about to get you killed.

“Sir, we found nothing.“ One of the cop who had gone to search the woods reported their results to Felix. The FBI had instructed the search team according to Felix suggestion to search the area.
Felix nodded at him and he left. “So, what are we going to do now?“ Carol asked undisturbed Felix, he had said there was a beast in the country who freaking killed two kalibres. “We already have enough beast in Alakanes! Kalibres are enough, we don't need no other beast right now!“ She had thought but there he was not feeling disturbed.
He ignored her and walked to the van, brought out his cell phone and did some writing, after a while he signaled to one of the search team to retreat and instead focus on the road that leads out of the town if there could be any traces of what they were looking for.
The drone pilots started their works, the K-9 weren't left out.

“Incoming call” his phone beep he swiped to the receive icon.
“sir, we found something!“
“What?“
“tire traces sir, we assume it could be of the Kalibres.“
“Just tire traces?“
“Yes, sir, from the look of things, it seems like that of a big Van.“
“Stand by, on my way to check it out.“

“What?“ Carol asked as soon as he dropped his phone.
“They found something.“ He said curtly and hopped on the car.
“Great! What is it that they found?“
“Wanna go see things yourself? Get in!“
“Of course, I will.“ She replied before taking a seat beside him and he drives on following the direction the drone pilots had gave him, some cops follow suit.

He parked his car and they stepped out.
“They left traces?“ She asked rhetorically.
“Was surprised too.“
“Maybe they want us to find something?“
“Maybe it's a loose end that will be untied by us soon.“ He said.
“The video, yesterday. That live video, it's was shot in the desert, and this roads leads to the desert.“ Carol said with excitement
“Exactly, we are close to finding them!“ He said with a hint of Mockery in his tone
“Is that sarcasm?“
“Yes.“ he replied in a duh tone.
“Follow the trace!“ He ordered and they all went back to continue their search.
“Pfft! What a brat“ Carol muttered

The desert wind blew to their faces, a water in bowl was brought to.them and they take turns in washing their faces in it. And they were given some water to drink.

“We move in 3 minutes!“ The captain ordered and the kalibre nodded.
When they were dine drinking. The vehicle were warmed up, and the victims were told to line up in a single file.

The soldiers went to pick up their bags that contains ammunition of any kinds that has been prepared by their captain for each of them.
As the victims were taken to the vans, the captain came to the bags and realised two of it has not been taken, he called one of the soldiers that was passing.
“Has everyone have each of their bag?“
“Yes, captain.“
“What about this four?“
“They are prolly extras.“
“You may go.“

His soldiers has been reduced to two, he specifically arranged the bags so they were no extra, where are the two soldiers? Did they ran off? If they do, he needs to get rid of them as soon as possible.“ He thought.

“What is wrong captain?“ His right hand man came up to hum seeing how disturb he is.
“I'm short of four men.“

“Can you hear that?“ his wolf said.
“Of course, I can, I've been have weird hearing range since yesterday.“
“The soldiers, what happened to them?“
“We killed them!“ His wolf said casually, just then he had split of headaches, flashes of yesterday's event appeared clearly in his head, he did that?
“We did what? You did it!“
“Come here, what are you?“
“okay. first of all, introduction. As I've said before, I'm your wolf. I'm Aiken the alpha of my kind, born on an half moon day. I was all goofy and jiggy until the night when those blood suckers invaded my…”
“Okay, enough! Enough! I'm tired of your folklore, why the f**k are you controlling me?“
“You weren't listening, are you? And how the hell will a 16 year old cuss?“
“Stop deviating my question!“
“im answering you but you keep stopping me from talking, and also I'm not controlling you, that is just you being you.“
“Liar!“
“What are you staring at you brat? Move!“ One of the kalibre yelled at him and hit him with a rod.
He instinctively looked at the soldier giving him a hard dangerous glare.
“What? Did you lost your hearing? I said move!“ He yelled again.

“No one has the right to yelled at us, pfft the damn coward is even threatening us!“ His wolf said angrily, his breath unsteady as his was uncontrollably angry.

“Oh no! This is bad.“ His mother muttered.

“Let me be, you fool!“ A cry break out form the back as the attention shifted from him to the cause of the cry.
A young boy had pushed away the kalibre away, let me rephrase that, 'attempted to'
Seeing the abrupt chaos the victims are doing, the captain walked over them with his hand in his pant pocket holding his rifle.

“You want to be left alone? Your wish is granted. Bang!“ He shut the boy and the victims all gasped

“Something to remind y'all if you try to be smart? You will continue to your smart ness in the land of the dead!“
“Now, I don't wanna here a single word from any of you again, understood?“ He yelled at them.
“Yes, sir!“ They stuttered.
“Now get your ass in the goddamn van!“ He ordered and they all scurried to the van.

“Can you hear that?“ His wolf said to him as soon as they successfully climbed the van.
“The sirens? FBI?“ He answered

“Now is the time, Revenge!“ The deep voice said again.
“What?“ He intoned out loud.
“You dare question me?“
“Now quiet kid as much as seeing your body headless is enjoyable to watch right now, don't make me do that!“
“We don't take instruction from anybody, instead we do that, right?“ The voice said again, a voice he had no idea was his wolf voice.
He curled his fist as he tried to steady his breathing and harken to the voice in his head.

“Aiden!“ His mother called out to him, and at that moment the voice in his head was silenced.
“Ma?
“Are you okay?“
“I'm sorry, he is just a child.“ His mother apologized on his behalf.
“Better have him in check so for his death day be fastwarded” the kalibre warned before walking away.
“Are you sure you are okay?“ The mother asked him even though it was windy and the weather is chilly but he was sweating.

He nodded and took his gaze away from his mother, “What was that?“ He thought
The father nodded at his son of assurance that everything will be fine.
The father and Mother shared a stare, “It's coming, what should we do?“ The mother asked the father wearily whispering.
“shh!“ The father shush placing a finger on his lips signifying silent
“He might hear you!“ He whispered muttering under his breath loud enough for his wife to hear.
“Yeah, right? Werewolves do have fast hearing or are they are good at hearing? One of their special Ability” she muttered in her mind and sit up while nodding her head. A glance at his son but it seems he has wandered off into his mind in the land of the unknown.

“What was what?“ The voice said back.
“Why the heck are you in my mind, why are you controlling me?“ He questioned in his mind.
“Woah woah! Calm down. You are learning pretty fast, well, that is a good thing.“

“Communication skills. See, minutes ago, when you wanted to speak to me you say it out loud for the world to hear, but now, the reverse is the case. You are a fast learner I bet you are a scholar in your academics.“
“Stop diverting my question! who are you? And what the heck are you doing in my head!? Perhaps it all an illusion?“ He looks down at his abdomen and stared at the area that was but by the bullet.

He watched as the young girl walked away from him angrily with a determined expression and smiled. She reminded him of his sister. No, they look nothing alike, but the personality she just displays is that of his sister. Always wanting to do things by themselves not caring about the consequences.
He started at her back as she stomped her feet to the building, she walked in not acknowledging the keepers at the doorpost, they all shared a glance and followed her in.
“Oh no, this is bad.“ He thought as he walked away, but something made him stop.
What if something bad happened to her? He needs to do something, but he knew he is no match with all the keepers, and without thinking twice he marched to the building.

Carol dozes off with her head resting on her palm and her elbow on the desk as she dozes off slowly almost hitting her head on the desk.
“You should go home!“
“Home?“
“Yes, thought you never wanted to be on this case?“
“Yes, and I'm still not interested in the case, but…”
“But what?“
“I can't leave you here all alone solving the case.“ She lied.
“Pfft. You are not helping either.“
“And that's because you don't want me to help.“ She said back.
They are back at the station after they've reported what they saw and all the bodies garnered from the cities had been taken to the hospital in the mortuary they are at the office that has two chairs and tables with a whiteboard.
Felix is buying accounting what he. found on the whiteboard and as for carol?
“Go home and take a good rest, we have a long day tomorrow. You need it.“
“What are you doing?“
“as you can see, I'm doing my job detective. Untying the loose ends.“

After a while, she yawned “I need this sleep”. She said as she stretches her arm and went back to sit on the chair before resting her head on the table, and there, she drifts to dreamland.

“Sir, the results are ready!“ She walked in on them.
She had woken up around 5 am and had gone home to freshen up and have a change of clothes and yes she is back at the station.
“You are here already, we better get going.“ He said to her and she nodded having no idea what he was talking about.
He ignited the car engine, “And where are we going?“ She asked him.
He faces her and smiled at her, and she looked away as his eyes returned to the road. “That was weird,” she said referring to the awkward unnecessary smile.

He stopped the car and we stepped out of it.
“Where are we?“ I asked
“You can read.“ He replied, well that was rude I thought.
“Research centre? We are here for the result, aren't we?“
“Of course, we are.“ He replied.
“Oh detectives, you are here.“
“Of course.“
“This way.“ The man in the lab coat said and we followed him to the lab.
“Technology? Cool,” I thought.
“Detectives, morning.“
“So here is what we found we didn't sleep a wink yesterday. So we take a look at the bodies as you've instructed, You were right about the bruises, they were bruises from claws, and according to that.
As for the bullets, we couldn't get anything from them yet, since it has been washed by the rain, we will give you an update.
“Thank you, Doc.“ He said before being farewell to them and I strode behind his back to the car.
He ignited the car, “So, what next?“
“if my theories are right, I think we have another danger we'll face very soon. So, Let's find some beast and maybe a survivor.“

Chapter two

———-Revenge—----------

His Chest tightened as soon as the bullets sound echoed across the desert and The warm blood splashes on his face, it took him a lot of strength to look at the half body of his now dead sister, he held onto the chain on his hand tightly as he tried to get hold of his sister's hand that is slowly getting cold, tears slipped from his eyes and the sky rumbled, and the birthmark glowing slowly like it has did minutes ago.

His parents sobbed silently, his father curled his fist tightly as he bowed his head in pain, he just lost his only daughter to the hands of this murderers, he slipped his hand to his wife's own and interlocked fingers trying to console her, she bit her lip as she sobbed silently till her lips started bleeding.
One look at their only son who is struggling to get himself together, the captain had left for one of the tents in the desert while the rest of the kalibres held their positions.

Seeing the glowing mark, “It's awakening!“ His father thought, “This is not good!“ The mother thought, it's like they are having a mind communication through some connection whereas they are both in their mind with different thoughts running in their mind.

“Aiden! Aiden!“ His father called out to him whispering, and he faced his dad, his eyes, the right is different from the left, his father gulped down saliva he had no idea was in his throat seeing his son looking so different.

“Calm down, okay?“
“W..wha?“ He stammered, all he wants right now is to have the head of that bastard that killed Abby off from his head just as he has done to Abby.
“He killed her, Abby is gone!“ He said amidst tears as his other eyes slowly took the form of the right one slowly.
“Oh, no!“ The mother thought.
“Be calm okay, we are definitely going to take revenge of Abby”
“We are going, right? Let's do that now!“ His voice changed, getting deeper and deeper with so much authority.
“Aiden, Aiden, look here!“ His mother called unto him, and he instinctively faced his mother like being programmed to do so, his left eyes is back to his original form
“We are going to take revenge, but not right now, okay? Calm down okay!“
“Not now?" He repeated
“Yes, it's not yet time for it. I can assure you that this is not the right time for that.“ His mother assured. And he sighed as his eyes went back to its original form, and he faced the sky.
He couldn't understand what was wrong with him.

"How did you get here, how old are you?"
"Fifteen? Fourteen?" The worker who had walked away from her after telling her who took Anna said as she stomped off bumping into him.

"None of your business!" She answered taking the left turn, the guy did same bumping to themselves again
"Ohh, bad mouth? I think I now have an idea how you got here," he whispered in a mocking tone, she glared at him before pushing him away and walking off to her destination

If what he told her is true, then she is definitely not going to spare them.
The keepers do keep eyes on young girls who found themselves in the digging site and used them in satisfying their pleasure, they go after the beautiful ones as most of them if not all have a problem in keeping their sexual ego shut on seeing the girls.

She walked straight to the keepers lodge a few metres away from the cave, the lodge was built as their resting place, in case if the sun is too much or there is an unannounced rain while the workers are to keep digging.

She walked into the all male lodge ignoring the calling for her to stop, she walked to each room opening it door, not caring who the heck is in the room, and the yelling she got, she was blinded with anger and there she found the room. Anna was almost stripped naked with four men all over her, not caring to know who was at the door or opened the door, one of the keeper whined, "we are enough, go find your own girl-"
"She is of no one!" She yelled and they all stopped what they were doing hearing the female voice and turned to the direction of the voice.
The men who all saw her walked in had followed her till she got to the room

With a smirk, "who are you?" One of the keepers who had taken Anna asked, staring at her from her head to toe.
"Seems like we got another chick!" Another said and the guys behind her pushed her into the room and slammed the door shut.
"Tonight we feast!" The guys yelled

“What the hell is this?“ The detective asked as she knelt down, staring at the bodies of the soldiers.
“This is strange, detective Carol!“
“The scars were imprinted with claws” carol's partner thought as his chest tightened with the the thought of a beast lurking around the woods, he stood up from the bodies and faced the direction of the woods, he pointed his touch and used it to scanned the dead silent woods, he pointed his touch on the grounds and tried to check for any footsteps, but because of the rain, there was none.
But, wait! There is a footprint, but it is just that it doesn't look like a normal human's own. I mean it looks like a Norman human's own, but despite the rain the footprints are still there. It should have been washed away by the rain by now, judging from the footprint, the footprint looked like that of probably a 7ft person. Imagine how deep it would have been if there wasn't no rain, he traces the foot prints and it stopped closed to the building at the woods, he notices something else, the swept floor, he followed it till he got to a tree behind the woods they were still stains of blood on the leaves and the floor.
“Officers, where did you find the body?“ He asked out loud.
“Right there detective!“ He answered.
With a smirk, “The body was dragged here!“ He said and traced the floor prints back till he got notice of something on the floor, covered by the sand he bent down to see, he picked the little metal up and looked at it closely, “A bullet?“ He thought.
He checked the area and saw another, “Two bullets?“ He looked closely at the floor. “Blood? Of course, there will be blood, probably the soldiers? But Nah they are not, the person the bullets hurts has this blood?“ He thought.

“Don't touch the body, we are taking it to the research center!“ He ordered.
“What do you think Felix?“ Carol asked, walking towards him as they walked together to their vans.
“You, what do you think?“ he asked her instead
“I think, Something that is not human did it.“ Carol answered she knew he must have figured it out seeing him going back and forth back there, he is the best detective his station has, and they are brought together as a partner to solve the case.

“Maybe a dog? An animal with claws, maybe?“ She said with uncertainty and Felix looked at her.
“What was that little thing you found back there?“ She asked.
“A bullet!“ he said casually
“A bullet?“ She repeated.

“Aiden!“ A voice called out to him, it's probably midnight now, none of the victims are sleeping a wink, why will they sleep? Some have witnessed a family member, lover, close friends murdered coldly.

He looked back, answering the voice that called him, looking back, everybody was minding their business, including the Kalibers that were keeping an eye on them.

“Aiden!“ The voice called out again, this time more domineering and clear, and flashes of images of what happened earlier came to his memories. The deep claws in a human chest leaving a deep cut, the painful cry. He gasped as he tried to steady his breathing, the bullet sound!
That reminds him, he was shot hours ago, how come he is still breathing he quickly looked down at his abdomen, there was definitely a bullet hole in his clothes and blood on his clothes signifying he was truly shot, he quickly lift his clothes up not minding the noisy sound the chain on his hands were giving.
