Eid-Maulud: A Call to Virtue, Peace and Economic Growth

As Muslims across Nigeria commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, extends warm greetings to the Muslim faithful in the FCT and across the country.

He encourages all Nigerians to draw inspiration from the Prophet’s virtues of honesty, compassion, discipline, justice, hard work, integrity and service to humanity, and to reflect these values in our businesses, workplaces and communities.

From Research to Reality: ACCI Calls for Stronger Academia–Industry Collaboration

Abuja Chamber Of Commerce And Industry - ACCI has called for stronger collaboration between academia, government and the organised private sector to transform research and innovation into commercially viable products, businesses and jobs.

The call was made during a working visit by the organising committee of the TETFund National Research Fair and Exhibition 2026, as stakeholders explored opportunities to strengthen the connection between research institutions and industry.

Speaking on the need to bridge the gap between knowledge and practical application, ACCI 1st Deputy President, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, highlighted the Chamber’s partnership with Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja, particularly the development of a Gemology and Jewellery Making Curriculum.

The engagement also spotlighted the proposed establishment of a world-class Gemology Laboratory and Jewellery Making Centre, aimed at equipping students with practical skills, promoting local value addition and unlocking the economic potential of Nigeria’s gemstone and solid-mineral resources.

The TETFund delegation, led by Engr. Umar Bindir, reaffirmed the importance of moving research beyond academic publications and into solutions that drive innovation, enterprise development, job creation and economic growth.

At ACCI, we remain committed to building bridges between knowledge, innovation and industry for a more productive and sustainable Nigerian economy.
