NOSDRA DG Undertakes Work Visit to Uyo Zonal Office, Reaffirms Commitment to Staff Welfare and Operational Efficiency
The Director-General/Chief Executive of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Emeka Woke, undertook a work visit to the Uyo Zonal Office as part of efforts to strengthen leadership engagement, improve staff welfare, and enhance operational efficiency across the Agency’s zonal offices.
The Director-General stated that the work visit became necessary following several reports and communications received from zonal offices concerning challenges related to staff welfare, working conditions, and operational needs.
According to him, the visit was aimed at obtaining firsthand information and carrying out an on-the-spot assessment of the situation in order to better understand the challenges faced by staff members.
During the visit, the Director-General inspected office facilities and interacted extensively with members of staff, providing them with the opportunity to express their concerns, expectations, and suggestions. Key issues discussed included office infrastructure and furniture, logistics, staff welfare, and the provision of adequate working tools.
In his remarks, Engr. Woke encouraged staff members to remain hopeful and committed to the vision of a better NOSDRA, assuring them that all concerns raised during the engagement had been duly noted and would receive the Agency’s attention.
He also commended the Uyo Zonal Head and staff members for their resilience, dedication, and commitment to the Agency’s mandate despite the prevailing challenges.
The work visit was widely described as impactful and timely, serving as a significant morale booster for staff members of the Uyo Zonal Office and further demonstrating the Director-General’s commitment to inclusive leadership and institutional development within NOSDRA.
