The Grassroots Mobilization Network (GMN), a support group of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has alleged that some leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), including the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, are opposed to Justice Peter Lifu's recusal from the ADC leadership suit.
According to GMN spokesperson Comrade Peter Emeka, APC leaders are allegedly pressuring the judge to remain on the case despite the ADC's request for his recusal.
He claimed that Justice Emeka Nwite had previously handled the case before it was reassigned to Justice Lifu and alleged that some APC leaders are seeking to influence the outcome of the matter.
Emeka further accused the judiciary of interfering in the internal affairs of opposition parties and warned against actions that could undermine democracy.
He urged Justice Lifu to recuse himself from the case and allow justice to take its course.
The ADC leadership dispute has been before the Federal High Court for several months.
