Violence should never be mistaken for discipline.

For many children and young people, hitting, shouting, threats and humiliation are still treated as normal ways to “correct” behavior.

But discipline does not have to cause fear or harm to be effective.
When adults choose to listen, explain, set healthy boundaries and respond with care, children learn that respect does not require fear and communication does not require violence.

Breaking cycles of violence starts in the environments we create at home, in schools and in our communities.

Every child deserves to grow up safe, heard and respected. And every one of us has a role to play in making that possible.

Light Up My Dream is a weekend and summer experience for adolescents aged 10–19, designed to help them thrive in today’s world through hands-on training, mentorship, creative expression, and psychosocial support.
