Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was founded in August 1998. We are 21years of age now. Atiku was orphaned at the age of 11.

Born in Jada Adamawa State, on November 25, 1946, to Garba Atiku and Aisha Kande Abubakar. His mother, Hajiya Aisha Kande died in 1984 and the last surviving blood relation, Aunt Azumi (Hajiya Fatima Isa) died in 1994. “I had a very trying childhood,” recalled Atiku in a 2006 interview, “having come from a poor background. When I was growing up living with my grandfather, there were times we had o

nly one meal a day, because of poverty. Sometimes in Jada then, my grandmother would pick up any of the green leaves in the backyard and make soup for us to eat in the family. So it was very difficult time for me as a child. But all the same I survived all those times, and by God’s grace this is where I am today. I wish my parents were alive today to see where I am today.”
