A landmark moment for Nigeria's infrastructure story. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

The Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, has been officially handed over to its private sector concessionaire under a Public-Private Partnership arrangement facilitated by the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).

The concessionaire, Aero Alliance Limited, will rehabilitate the passenger terminal, construct a new cargo facility, and upgrade the airport to international standards β€” with US$60 million in private investment and zero cost to the government.

Direct flights from Enugu to China are on the horizon. Enugu Air is expanding its fleet to 20 aircraft. The South-East is open for business.

This is what happens when regulation meets vision. This is the Renewed Hope Agenda in action.

Nigeria's clean energy future just got a major push forward

This week, the Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh welcomed the Executive Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles (Pi-CNG & EV), Barr. Ismaeel Ahmed and his team for a high-level courtesy visit β€” and the outcome is promising.

Pi-CNG is on a mission to attract local and international investment into Nigeria's gas mobility and electric vehicle space. And they've identified the right partner in ICRC β€” the body responsible for regulating all Federal Government PPP arrangements.

Dr. Ewalefoh made one thing clear: ICRC is fully committed to supporting Nigeria's energy transition through smart, well-structured partnerships.

Here's what's happening next:
Both organisations have agreed to set up a six-member joint working committee β€” with a firm 21-day mandate to identify collaboration areas and develop real partnership models. Three members from each side. The clock is ticking.

This is how structured, purposeful partnerships that deliver real infrastructure to Nigerians begin.

Watch this space. πŸ‘€

At the just concluded 2026 International Civil Service Conference (ICSC), Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, Director General of the ICRC, arrived early and personally engaged Nigerians at the ICRC exhibition booth β€” answering questions, sparking conversations, and sharing his passion for how the Commission is unlocking private investment to put roads, power, airports and seaports in the hands of everyday Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The DG also featured in two special panel sessions discussing infrastructure development and the role of the ICRC in delivering critical infrastructure to Nigerians through Public-Private Partnerships.

This is what leading from the front looks like. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬
