Guinness World Record breaker, Nigerian visual artist Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo Okeke, paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Gallery of Art, Ahmed Bashir Sodangi, yesterday,April 15, 2025. The 15-year-old autistic art prodigy, who recently broke the record for the largest painting on canvas by an individual with his 12,303.87 square meter artwork titled "Impossibility Is a Myth", was accompanied by the President of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA), Mr. Suleiman Mohammad, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tagbo Okeke.
During the visit, the team expressed gratitude for the gallery's support, which significantly contributed to Kanyeyachukwu's achievement. Director General Sodangi commended Kanyeyachukwu's remarkable feat, thanking his parents for their unwavering support. He assured the committee of the National Gallery of Art's continued support, emphasizing its commitment to promoting art and creativity in Nigeria. The DG looked forward to future collaborations that would further promote artistic talent in the country.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing enthusiasm for working together, recognizing the potential for the National Gallery of Art's involvement to contribute to the success of upcoming projects and promote artistic talent in Nigeria. The committee thanked the Director General and his team for their warm reception and support.
