Many of us go through life without fully realizing the impact we have on others through our actions and inactions.

A kind word, a helping hand, a timely piece of advice, or a simple act of generosity may seem small in the moment, yet such acts often leave footprints that last for years.

The truth is that we may never know how far our kindness travels. The encouragement you give today may help someone overcome a difficult season. The opportunity you create may become the foundation of another personโ€™s success. The compassion you show may inspire others to extend the same compassion to those around them.

That is how positive change spreadsโ€”not through grand gestures alone, but through ordinary people choosing to do good whenever they can.

As we begin this new week, let us be intentional about the values we pass forward:

โ€ข Kindness instead of bitterness.
โ€ข Hope instead of despair.
โ€ข Encouragement instead of criticism.

Let us remember that every good deed, no matter how small, has the potential to outlive us. The seeds we sow today may blossom in places we may never see.

Have a purposeful and impactful week ahead.

Happy New Week!

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, Senator Allwell Onyesoh, (Rivers East) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to infrastructure renewal and national development following the official flag-off of the Gombeโ€“Biu Road Dualization Project in Gombe State.

Senator Onyesoh, who led a delegation of the Senate Committee on Works to Gombe over the week, was accompanied by members of the House of Representatives Committee on Works, led by its Chairman, Hon. Akin Alabi. As well as Senator Nwebonyi Peter who represents the Senate leadership among other government officials.

The 125-kilometre dual carriageway project is one of the Federal Government's strategic legacy infrastructure projects designed to improve connectivity, enhance security, stimulate economic growth, and open up communities across the Northeast region.

Speaking at the event, Senator Onyesoh described the project as a clear demonstration of President Tinubu's resolve to address long-standing infrastructure deficits and unlock the vast economic potential of the region.

He noted that the dualization of the Gombeโ€“Biu corridor would significantly improve transportation, facilitate agricultural and commercial activities, and strengthen regional integration among communities in Gombe, Borno, Adamawa, Bauchi, and neighbouring states.

The Senate Committee Chairman also applauded the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, for his dedication, innovation, and commitment to delivering quality infrastructure across the country.

"The National Assembly leadership appreciates the vision and determination of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advancing critical infrastructure projects that have a direct impact on the lives of Nigerians. We also commend the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, for his tireless efforts in translating the President's infrastructure agenda into tangible results across the country," Senator Onyesoh stated.

He further praised the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for his developmental strides and continued support for federal projects within the state, noting that the partnership between the Federal Government and sub-national governments remains crucial to national development.

Senator Onyesoh emphasized that the National Assembly remains committed to providing the necessary legislative support and oversight required to ensure the successful ex*****on of critical infrastructure projects across the country.

He also called on citizens to continue supporting the administration's development initiatives, stressing that sustained investment in infrastructure remains essential to economic growth, job creation, and national prosperity.

According to him, the Gombeโ€“Biu Road Dualization Project represents more than a road construction initiative; it is a transformative investment that will reconnect communities, improve security, facilitate trade, boost agricultural production, and create new economic opportunities for millions of Nigerians.

The project is expected to commence fully within the coming weeks, with contractors mobilising to site for immediate ex*****on.

The National Assembly delegation reaffirmed its confidence in the Federal Government's infrastructure agenda and pledged continued collaboration to ensure the timely delivery of projects that advance national development and improve the welfare of Nigerians.

Yesterday, Etche Local Government witnessed a colourful convergence of dreamers and people-driven leaders as the 19 ward leaders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors were inaugurated ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In attendance were the peopleโ€™s Senator, Chief Allwell Heacho Onyesoh, representing Rivers East Senatorial District; the Rivers State Chairman of the Renewed Hope Movement, Ambassador Desmond Akawo; the โ€œFifikachiriโ€ of Okrika and Rivers East Coordinator of the movement, Chief Boma Iyaye; the Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Chief Chima Njoku; the former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Chief Rowland Sekibo; and many other dignitaries too numerous to mention.

In this colourful gathering of leaders and dreamers, the women, men, and youths from the diverse political blocs of Etche stood out remarkably. Their energetic warmth and unwavering confidence in the Renewed Hope vision electrified the atmosphere.

What happened in Etche yesterday revealed a deep sense of connectedness between the people, their government and political leaders. The bridge sustaining this connection is none other than the people-focused approach to development championed by the new dispensation.

Senator Onyesoh was widely praised by the people for transforming potential into success through his widespread provision of pensionable employment opportunities for many youths across Rivers East, including those from the Etche nationality. Speaking during the event, Hon. Nnamdi Okereโ€”the Former Chairman of Etche LGAโ€”noted that, for the first time in the history of the Etche ethnic nationality, many qualified graduates can now boast of pensionable employment courtesy of the treasure-based Senator.

โ€œThis is not a time to be divided. We must all come together to consolidate the new wave of development happening in Etche through the magnanimity of His Excellency, Chief E.N. Wike, CON. For the first time, an Etche son has secured a return ticket to the Senate โ€” with a 90% chance of success,โ€ the Senator declared during his speech.

โ€œOnye mere gi iheoma iga kpe ya gini?โ€ he asked.

And the people of Etche echoed a resounding โ€œkaa nka,โ€ which loosely translates to โ€œthank youโ€ in English.

The Etche people remain thankful to the Minister of the FCT, His Excellency, Chief E.N. Wike, and pledge their absolute support and solidarity to his leadership.

With yesterdayโ€™s event, the Renewed Hope Movement has now kicked off in full gear in Etche Local Government Area. It is worthy of note that the newly inaugurated ward leaders are fully energized for door-to-door sensitization across the communities on the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The prevailing political climate also suggests that the people are more than eager to support a government led by grassroots leaders they can trust in all seasons.
