On Friday, by the grace of Almighty Allah, we gathered for what, according to our tradition, was simply to be the formal introduction (Tambaya) of our daughter, Zara Abubakar Aliyu. However, by the will of Allah, the gathering subsequently turned into the solemnization of her marriage.
As Allah willed, what began as a simple family introduction (Tambaya) unexpectedly became a wedding ceremony. We therefore wish to sincerely seek the prayers, understanding and goodwill of our friends, family members and loved ones who were unable to attend, particularly because of the unexpected nature of the occasion.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who shared in this special moment with us, whether physically or in spirit. The occasion was hosted by His Excellency, the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam; so also, the Former Minister of Works & Housing, His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola; His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, was also there too, Senator Mohammed Hassan; the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ciroma Buba Mashio; the Chief of Staff to the Yobe State Governor, Abdullahi Gashua; the Chief Whip, Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Auwal Isa Bello; the Permanent Secretary, Liaison Office; the Permanent Secretary, Government House; The Waziri of Fika; the Waziri of Potiskum; and other distinguished dignitaries who graciously joined the families on this memorable occasion.
Most importantly, we ask everyone to remember the couple in their prayers. May Allah bless their union with love, understanding, peace and lasting happiness; may He grant them righteous offspring, guide them throughout their journey together, and make their marriage a source of blessings for both families and the wider community.
