ANAYO EDWIN: THE GOVERNOR EBONYI PEOPLE NEED IN 2023

In less than 48 hours, Ebonyi PDP delegates shall be faced with the patriotic task of choosing the flagbearer of PDP who will lead Ebonyi people from May 29, 2023. Because leadership is everything, the question on the minds of the delegates should be: What type of leader do Ebonyi people need at this point in time? This question should lead them to look critically at the antecedents and leadership qualities of the various aspirants. Among the numerous PDP aspirants, Rt. Hon. Anayo Edwin stands out for the following reasons:-
At a time when leaders have appropriated Ebonyi patrimonies for private and family use, Ebonyi needs a content, liberal and detribalized leader who sees the entire Ebonyi people as his family and will consequently ventilate the sources of good life and wealth creation to all Ebonyi people. Anayo Edwin, is the only governorship aspirant who has demonstrated for years that his constituency is not limited by geography. His constituency has always been humanity whom he began to invest in even as a private person and has continued such investments in his career in public offices.
At this point in history when leaders easily disconnect themselves from the people they lead and metamorphose into insensitive emperors, Anayo Edwin whose pristine humility and empathy has tied in unflinching affinity and solidarity with his people of Ebonyi State is the governor that Ebonyi people deserve because he knows the needs of the people and how to solve them. Unlike others, Anayo Edwin protects the dignity of beneficiaries and saves them the embarrassment of the camera. Anayo Edwin is one leader in Ebonyi State who gives houses, cars, motorcycles, start-up capitals for businesses, business equipments, federal jobs, scholarships, medical amnesty et cetera off camera. Ebonyi people need a governor that will understand and solve the needs of Ebonyi people and yet accord Ebonyi citizens the dignity due from a servant (a governor) to a master (the people). Anayo Edwin is the only Ebonyi governorship aspirant that meets this need.
In the coming dispensation, Ebonyi State does not need someone who does not know what to do. Nor does Ebonyi State need someone who will arbitrarily pursue his fancy as public interest. Rather, Ebonyi State and her people need a patient and humble leader who understands the need of Ebonyi State and her people and has feasible plans to develop Ebonyi State and her people. Of all the contestants, none of them is closer to Ebonyi people than Anayo Edwin. Only Anayo Edwin has an internationally-acclaimed autochthonous Ebonyi Development Masterplan which he has circulated for people to read and hold him to account. Anayo Edwin knows what to do with power to the glory of God and for the benefit of Ebonyi people. He is the governor that Ebonyi people need in 2023.
At a time when many aspirants are in the governorship contest for name and self-aggrandizement, Anayo Edwin's governorship ambition is founded on the welfare of Ebonyi people. He is in the contest to ensure that no Ebonyi child will be out of school for reason of non-payment of school fees. He guarantees free quality education till junior secondary school and 50% of undergraduate tuition for Ebonyi people. Anayo Edwin is contesting to ensure that Ebonyi youths will have jobs, workers paid living wages/salaries and retirees will be celebrated with gratuities, bonuses and pensions. Anayo Edwin is in the race to restore peace and security in Ebonyi State, ensure free antenatal and postnatal healthcare services as well as food security through unpretentious agricultural revolution, etc.
As PDP delegates of Ebonyi State broach the task of choosing a candidate to fly the flag of the party in Ebonyi State in the 2023 governorship election, I am minded to simplify their task by hereby presenting to them their brother and friend, a young man imbued with vision, humility, compassion, courage, competence, capacity and political will. I present to Ebonyi PDP delegates a young man who has demonstrated for the last seven years that politics and power is about human capacity building and provision of life-enhancing amenities like water, electricity, good roads, healthcare, schools and so on otherwise known as "manfrastructure". I present to Ebonyi PDP delegates and by extension, Ebonyi people, a young leader whom they already know for his commitment to the common good and determination to rescue Ebonyi State, change her concrete narrative to human narrative and give her people the life and future they deserve. That young man, Anayo Edwin, is the governor Ebonyi people need in 2023.
