It is with a heavy, yet submissive heart to the total will of Almighty Allah (SWT) that I extend my deepest condolences to my brother, Hon. Afeez Olaniyi Balogun, Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, on the passage of his beloved father, Alhaji Alimi Olayiwola Balogun, the Balogun of Obaland and Baba Adeen of Obaland.
The death of Baba is a profound loss not only to the Balogun family and the people of Obaland, but to the entire Abeokuta South Local Government. Our father, Chief Alimi Olayiwola Balogun lived a purposeful, devoted, and highly impactful life. As the Balogun of Obaland, he was a pillar of traditional leadership, wisdom, and community cohesion. As the Baba Adeen of Obaland, his unwavering dedication to Islam, moral uprightness, and service to the faith illuminated the path for many.
While we mourn his physical departure, we find solace in his remarkable legacy, his exemplary service to humanity, and the worthy childrenโchief among them Hon. Azeez Balogunโhe raised to carry on his noble ideals.
On behalf of my family and the good people of Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds as act of Ibadah, and grants him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah grant Hon. Azeez Balogun, the immediate family, and the entire Obaland community the fortitude and strength to bear this irreparable loss.
