Elvira's Secret

Written by: Chukwuma Rejoice

Chapter 1️⃣

Elvira groaned as she rolled on the bed lazily. She didn't want to get up from bed.

Her bedroom's door creaked open revealing her mom.

“ c'mon dear, get up and get ready for school. You know it is a long drive ”

Elvira sighed and sat up on her bed with a pillow on her laps.

Her mom sat down with her patting her hair gently. “ darling, please don't do this now. I know you don't want to go to Crown Lake Academy but it is for your own good ”

“ I don't want to go to Crown Lake Academy. I hate boarding school and moreover I will miss my friends and you ”

“ I will miss you too but it is for the best ”
.

Elvira dressed up and went downstairs.

“ come eat breakfast ” her mum said

“ I'm not hungry mum ”

“ I will pack it for you in your lunch box. Your father is in the garage ”

MORE THAN A MYSTERY

Written by Authoress Nini

CHAPTER 1

Annie Sloan trodded back home gently the way she had come, the lone, silent road seeming to match with her heartbeats.

Her long golden locks flowed with the breeze, glittering in the shining full moon.

She stood rooted to the spot when she heard faint footsteps behind her. She looked around and there was no sign of humans on the road.

It might be her imaginations working one of it pranks on her, she assured herself and adjusted her bag on her shoulder then continued her journey home.

Two more turns and she was sure she is been followed. She increased her pace as her heartbeat rapidly against her chest, muttering incoherent words of assurance to herself till she reached her front door, turned the k**b, and slammed the door behind her.

THE PRINCESS SWITCH was playing on the television before her little daughter who laid half asleep on the cushion.

"Baby, mommy is so sorry, it's way past your bedtime." She said softly as she pulled her 9-year-old daughter into a tight hug, willing her racing heart to get back to normal.

"You had dinner yet?" She asked and the little girl nodded her head in the affirmative.

"Now let's get you to bed, honey. Mommy won't be late to tuck you in tomorrow."

Few minutes after tucking her daughter in bed, Annie walked back to the living room and surfed through the television channels.

She settled in to watch a James Bond movie she'd seen many times before. She sat riveted for an hour, munching on the crackers in front of her.

A soft knock came on the door. Just as she raised her head to answer, the locked handle turned and her heart missed a beat.

Who could it be? She thought in her head.

She made her way into the kitchen to grab a heavy glass ashtray. She couldn't get her hand around it and had to hold it by the edge.

She tried to think just for two seconds. It might be my neighbor or the figure stalking me.

She lifted her face to the window to make sure it's well locked just in time to see the figure moved quickly away from there.

Her throat went dry. 'Who are you?'
She managed to croak out.

The knock on the door came again. Louder this time.

Annie walked shakily to the door. Wasn't there another solution apart from this heavy frame she held in her hands, she mentally calculated.

She couldn't think. This self-defense seems the only way.

She opened the door with her left hand. Her right hand held the ashtray.

“Listen would you mind not giving me a scare and tell....”

Before she could finish, the person grabbed the tray from her hands and the hard edge of it hit the middle of her head.

Her knees bent and she went down like a ball hit between the eyes with a hammer. She fell shocked to the ground.

"You need to do something, Annie." The voice in her head continued to say.

The door was kicked shut and the masked stranger bent to her level.

Seeing it as her chance, Annie with unsteady hands grabbed the person's hips and bit down on the thigh.

A sharp blow to her jaw and she could taste the blood at the corner of her lips, she felt the broken bone, she could smell her sweats as it plastered her hair to her face.

“Who are you?!” She managed to ask.

Terror filled her at the whistling of a blade being pulled, her eyes widened in shock as the realization hit her.

She used her numb hands to search briskly in vain for the ashtray. The killer, sensing her motive dropped the blade and slammed the edge of the ashtray again and again into the back of her neck.

The masked stranger sure she's not lifeless, threw a silken cord around her neck. The cord pulled tighter and tighter, choking off Annie's breath.

Her face became purple, the
strength in her arms drained away. Suddenly the floor was wet and slippery. Her sphincter, no longer under control, opened, the waste
of her body spilled out.

The killer felt Annie’s wrist for a
pulse. There was a faint one, though it
seemed to stop as he touched. In the next second, it was gone.

"Mommy!!!" The little girl screamed, her face whitewashed with the horror of what she just witnessed.

Oh Good. Now she has a daughter.

The killer removed the mask and smiled ruefully at the little girl.

"Come to me, sweetheart."

❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇❇

Detective Cain Brooks sat in his office room at the Chicago Police Department. Files and papers spread out in front of him.

His jumbled head needing a soothing meal. He stood up and reached for a cigarette and a bottle of Scotch on the locker by the door.

He took the tray containing the dish of meat and vegetables and placed it on his table.

Ready to dive in his lunch, a thundering knock came on the door.

"Sergeant Brittany, why do I have this odd feeling you'll wear me out with your crazy bangs on my door before this year runs out and I'll make sure I stop at nothing to get you jailed for always disrupting my lunch."

"I'll take that as a 'come in' Sir!" A voice said curtly on the other side.

A short, fat, round-headed woman walked in. She looked briskly around the disorganized room and sighed.

"You know you deserve whatever jail term you get right, Sergeant...." Cain said smiling as he caught the gaze travel of the bored woman.

"Bob Larson needs you in his office, right NOW!!!" She said and without waiting for his reply, walked out the way she came.

Cain seethes his teeth and sluggishly made his way to the General's office.

"You called for me sir." He said to the turned back of the man who stood by the window, staring out to the view of the city.

"There's been another gruesome killing, Cain." He replied without turning.

"Oh...I see, shall we start investigations yet?" Cain asked without expression.

General Bob Larson had never been on good terms with Cain since long time ago when he moved to Chicago to start his detective job.

Cain Brooks, a man with a very keen sense of observation, an ability to get information from others and a mystery lover wasn't oblivious to all side shades and slides the general passes him everytime he cracked open a case many others in the field finds difficult to.

The General who saw the smart, young man as a threat to his feats would stop at nothing to show his contempt and jealousy at every given chance.

"You know in this field, there are various set of cops, Cain. I will use just few as examples.

One, look at Williams, always with a donut and a cup of coffee, always unable to do anything right, and despite all trainings still has no idea what he's doing. An example of incompetency.

Then we have Yvonne. Everyone knows her to be a dirty cop.
She's known for blackmailing, stealing, or using the law to her advantage.

She does whatever it takes to improve her own situation. You know why? this is because she's a cop who has “gone bad” and discovered the advantages of being a cop and now she is using them for her own gain.

Our clueless detective, Liam who somehow has no idea of what he’s doing and by some luck, there’s always some colleague to help him."

Cain stared wearily at the man who has now taken his seat and is puffing out smoke from his cigarette.

"Why are you telling me all these? It's got nothing to do with the question I asked."

"Uh... Smart boy they call you right?" He chuckled. "Have a seat boy."

"No thanks to you." Cain said as he drew the chair back and sat.

The man snorted. "You know I could have dismissed all these people a long time ago?" He asked the unamused Cain who only stared at him and kept mute.

"Is there something you want me to know, General?"

"Well..yes! There is. I'm sure you would love the news."

"What news?"

"You know since a very long time, everyone's been looking up to you 'cos you're very capable."

"It's nice hearing that from you, General." Cain mocked.

"You are getting transferred Cain-" Larson paused before dropping the climax. " -Back to Arizona, Phoenix"

"What?! Why?!" Various emotions washed across his face in quick spirals.

"Well, Your hometown needs a capable hand and the only option we got here is you. There has been a whole lot of gruesome killings happening in Arizona and news about a more brutal one came in just now.

They need you Cain. It's been tough"

"You are joking with me right now huh?!" Cain, asked disbelievingly.

"No, I'm not. You're to resume in two days time and crack solve this case this time too, smart ass."

"Is this another trick of yours to get me far away from you man? I'm leaving nowhere and most importantly, not back to Phoenix!!" Cain yelled angrily.

General Bob, in a mocking calmness reached his hand out to pat the angry palm on his table.

"It's either you leave, or you lose your rank detective."

"Do I have a say on this at all??"

"No, you don't."

Several thoughts flooded through Cain's head. His muscles tense and his face taut in anger.

"You have the rest of today off to start preparing your resumption in Arizona. I wish you good luck on this one!"

Cain stood up and fiercely banged the table with his fist. "F**k Chicago!"

Satisfied, Bob Larson rested his back on the seat, a knowing smile crept up his face as Cain banged the door behind him.

"Good riddance to bad rubbish" He muttered in his mind.

FINAL CHAPTER!!!

CHAPTER 35.

💜💜SOPHIA💜💜

I woke up to the sound of a knock on the door. I scrambled upright and, hauling the sheets over myself, asked who was there.

"It's me, Vince."

I felt my heart give a funny little start. "Um...I'm not dressed."

"I've seen it all, Sophie," he said with amusement colouring his tone. "You've done nothing but flaunt it at me for the past week or so."

I glowered at the door and then stiffened when the door opened and Vince stepped in as if he owned the place. Ok. Fine! He owns the place. The fact that he did - was beside the point.

"What do you think you are doing?" I chuckled.

He came over carrying a tray with steaming hot tea and fresh rolls and a selection of home-made preserves.

"I thought you might like breakfast in bed," he said. "After all, you had a pretty restless night."

I frowned and angled my head suspiciously at him. "I.. I did?"

He gave a nod and set the tray down on the bed next to my tightly clenched thighs.

"I found you sleepwalking at about two in the morning," he said. "Do you do that often?"

I felt my face color up. "How would I know?

" Hasn't anyone found you wandering like a ghost in the past?" He asked.

I rolled my lips together and looked down at the curl of steam coming from the teapot on the tray, wondering if Vincent, like my father, thought there was something wrong with me, something seriously wrong as inside my head.

I had walked in my sleep at regular intervals in the first few months after my mother's death. Either Zach or Father would usually find me wandering and had gently led me back to bed.

Father had wanted me to see someone about it. I had seen the pain on his face, the disappointment that his daughter was defective in some way.

And now it has started again.

"Sophia?" Vince tipped my face up with the blunt tip of his index finger.

I felt the pulse of heat pass from his body to mine. It was like a slow burn on my skin, making it quiver with a longing.

"No," I said, and sent out my tongue out over my bone-dry lips. "No one has ever mentioned it. I used to sleepwalk when I was a child. I thought I had stopped ages ago but it must have been the stress of the past weeks and so on."

He exchanged his finger for his thumb on my chin, using it like a soft brush over the sensitive area just below my lower lip.

"Sometimes I get the feeling you are not the person everyone thinks you are, " he said, his eyes holding mine as his thumb continued its mesmerizing action.

I disguised a swallow. "Wh...what makes you say that?" I asked, annoyed at the slight catch in my voice.

His eyes looked more gray than silvery this morning.

"I might have perfected my don't-mess-with-me-I-don't-give-a-damn-air, but I think we both need attention. I pushed everyone away but what I really want is someone to be close to,someone who understands me and accept me as I am. And, you're just in many ways like me."

I felt cornered. The tray containing the hot tea had me trapped in one side and I know if I should move to the other it would spill and possibly, burn Vince.

"I have no idea of what you are talking about," I said, schooling my features into an expression of boredom.

He gave a slowly spreading smile and brushed the pad of his thumb over my bottom lip. It was like an electric shock as soon as his flesh touched mine.

Every nerve in my mouth leapt and tingled, eager for more. I wanted to send my tongue out again to taste where he had been and I fought the urge with an enormous effort.

"You play the nerd so well," he said in a low deep burr. "You dress the part, you act the part, but there's something that doesn't quite fit."

I tried to lift my but he captured it between his thumb and index finger as if he had anticipated my movement even before I had done so myself.

"Don't do that" I said.

"You don't like it when I touch you like this?" He asked as he trailed a slow-moving finger down the curve of my cheek.

I felt a responding quiver deep in my belly. "I..uhm..n-no."

"What about this?" he asked, leaning in and pressing a barely touching kiss to my left temple.

"N..no," I croaked and then swallowed as he moved to my right temple. I felt a shiver pass through me, awakening every sense inside my body.

"What about here?" he asked and kissed the edge of my mouth, not on my lips but close enough to feel the masculine rasp of his unshaven skin.

Heat exploded inside me, blistering heat that threatened to consume everything in its path.

"Sophia!!" Bruce yelled and barged in through the door. Vincent stood upright and made to leave.

"See you in ten minutes." He said and walked out, leaving me to wonder where we were supposed to be together.

"Hey, little man!" I resettled the tray which was threatening to slip off the bed and lifted him into my arms.

"You need to consume that really fast, I need to show you something." Bruce said rubbing his palms on my cheek.

"O..K! Is it a surprise?" I asked treating myself to a roll.

"Not really. It's just somewhere you've never seen or been."

"Can't wait then."

*********

Seven minutes later, I strode down a long hallway I have never noticed before with Bruce sauntering beside me.

"Aren't we there yet?" I asked for the umpteenth time.

"Just a little while more Sophie."

I sighed. I just hope he's not playing one of his pranks on me again.

"Uhm..Sophie..."

"What?"

"I forgot my racing car in my room, could you please wait for me in that room?" He said, pointing to a double door ahead.

"It's a prank right?" I asked giving him a pushed up face.

"Just wait for me!" He said and ran off.

This perky little boy!!

I moved up ahead and made my way slowly into the unguarded lowly dim lit room.

"You are here!" A voice said behind me and I jumped.

I turned around to see Vince rub his hand over his face.

"You startled me."

"I'm sorry," He laughed. "Come, let's sit"

"You've got a really big place here." I smiled.

His expression faltered for a moment as I took my seat.

"And why is everywhere so dark?"

"I love it this way."

"You love it?-" I raised a brow.

"Yes, I do. And you sure can see better now."

"Of course, I can." I said, remembering I now use contact lenses.

"Sophia, can I show you some things?"

"Yes sure."

He grabbed my hand and we made our way into a inner room filled with pictures and portrait.

"They are my parents." He said, as I walked to touch the portrait of the beautiful woman who stood in the circle of her lover's arm and looked up soulfully into his eyes.

"They- are beautiful!" I said as touched another one of them smiling together.

"Wow.. You look so adorable here, so much like Bruce." I trailed my hand over the portrait of the little boy who stood with socks in his hands, smiling so lovingly.

"That's me!" He said smiling.

"I know." I smiled back at him.

"Sophia-" he called.

"Um.." I replied, deeply engrossed in the images I'm looking at.

"Do you know what I want most in the world?"

I smiled cheekily. "You want to be loved, " I said. "I know you want to be loved and accepted for who you are."

"Do you love me and accept me as I am?"

I dropped the frame gently back on the table and moved towards him.

"I admit I didn't at first, " I wrapped my arm around his neck. "But I have come to realize how wrong I was about you. This past months has taken its toil and luckily for us, fate had a good thing in stock for us. I love you very much, Vincent. Very much."

He reached for his back pocket and went on his knee. Tremor, anxiety, and excitement filled me.

"Sophia, you are very special to me. So talented and beautiful and so damned sensual I can't keep my hands off you. I love you so much too Sophia. Do me the honor of accepting this ring and marry me. It will be Just Us forever. Marry me Sophia."

I stretched my left hand out for him as tears rolled down my cheeks.

"I will marry you Vincent!" I said and he slid the glittering band on my finger.

He rose up and I went straight into his arms and allowed him rock my body.
He tilted my chin up and covered my mouth in a wet kiss.

"Now let the party begin!!!" Bruce little voice shrilled out and the lights came up, revealing over twenty people.

The music started blaring just as immediately as the shock took over me.

"Congratulations, Mom." Bruce said and I bent to his height and gave him a loud kiss. "It was a surprise after all."

"Yeah, it was" Father said as he hugged me tightly.

"Thank you so much" I said kissing Zach's cheeks.

I was all smile as I walked over the room on Vincent's arm, thanking people. Cameras flashed from all angles.

"Knew you had a big chance with the boss!" Vicky and Elena said as they enclosed me in a big hug.

"Thanks so much guys" I said, blushing real hard.

"Well, well, well.. Look who's finally lucky to get a good man." Amelia said as she hugged me.

"Wish you'll just stop badmouthing me." I whispered into her ears and she smiled.

"I was just pulling your legs babe. I got myself one too." She said as Jerry bent to kiss her on the mouth.

"Wow..didn't see that coming." Vincent said and we all laughed.

"Thank you so much."

I can't believe I am finally engaged to the CEO of MarklordyVM, I mean, I had never really thought of that.

I looped my arms around his neck. "I love you so much Mark Vincent, " I said. "I really, really love you."

"You know something, Sophia?" He smiled as the paparazzi hustled closer to capture the moment. "I really, really love you too."

SECOND TO THE LAST CHAPTER

CHAPTER 34

🖤🖤 SOPHIA🖤🖤

I was left alone in the dark. Droplets of sweat ran down my head. It's well past 24 hours already and Vincent isn't here yet.

When it was midnight, it was so cold that my nose went red and felt froze. I knew I had to escape by all means.

I need to get away from these people.

Before I could find a tool, I heard the sound of a car outside. I really hope it's Vincent or the police or whatever savior.

But then, I was mistaken. Two masked men came in and gagged me. I was loosened and half-pushed,half-carried outside through the iron-studded door, only to be thrown into the car boot.

****

The opposite door to the lonely room opened and they walked in.

My hand and foot were manacled that I could hardly stand, let alone move.

The light shed by the single, flickering lantern was dim and I could hardly place the figures that walked in.

"Look who the selfish bastard made to suffer. A wretched soul at thou"

Cassandra's mocking voice rang out. Her eyes moved quickly over my ragged figure. Her thin nostrils wrinkled with distaste.

"Now we have to change location to make him suffer too. His 48hours is almost over. We're not gonna be the only one who'll lose." A sneer crept to her voice.

"You crazy fools gave him the wrong address" I yelled angrily.

"That's just to make him know he's not the only smart ass." Nathan laughed.

Nicholas kissed Cassandra's cheeks and walked out with one of the bodyguards.

"Get the cameras ready!" Cassandra ordered. A bright light shone up on the ceiling and I could see five other figures in the room. The mafia-like guys.

Without warning, I found my waist encircled by a steely arm belonging to one of the men and before I could protest, I was drawn against him, tasting, unwillingly, the alcohol on his breath as he forced my head back with his brutal kiss.

Instinctively, I struggled against him, my shackled hands pushing furiously against his shoulders.

It feels so horrible! To be kissed like a common slt without consideration.

I kept my teeth tightly clenched as I continued to twist my head from side to side, trying to evade the bruising pressure of his mouth on mine.

In spite of my frantic struggles, the four other men stood lined up beside me, their shirt and flies open down the front.

The man drew me up against his body and I felt stifled up in its folds; terrified by the pressure of his irritating body.

Just when I felt I was about to faint, there were gunshots and I heard sirens. A great feeling of relief overwhelmed me.

"Vincent! That bastard!" Cassandra seized the gun from one of the men standing near me. "He's gonna lose a whole lot," she said and pointed the gun at me.

Just as she was about to pull the trigger, three policemen and some rescue squad barged into the room with snipers and short guns.

The gun was kicked off her hand in a snap and before the kidnappers could exchange fires, three were already lying on the floor dead.

The whole room was surrounded and both Nathan and Cassandra were cuffed. I saw the two remaining bad kidnappers lying on the ground with their hands up.

The policeman unchained
me and pulled me up the floor. A guy walked in with Jerry and Vincent.

I was puzzled because it turns out to be Nicholas who escorted one of the accomplices just now.

Vincent whose facial expression appeared so terrified hugged me tightly. He winced in pain as I wrapped my arms around his shoulder.

"It's so fine now sweet Sophie, everything will be alright. We are so safe now!" He reassured as he buried his head in my neck.

"What happened to your shoulder? It is bleeding!" I asked on seeing the red patch that stained his shirt.

"He was bruised by the bomb Cassandra threw yesterday and he wouldn't let anyone heal him till he gets to you," Jerry said behind him.

"Oh... Vince!" My eyes became teary.

"Maybe now is the right time you meet someone," Vincent said, smiling.

"Someone?"

"Yes!"

"Who?"

"Ivy..." Jerry called, standing beside him.

"Jerry--?!" I said as recognition struck me. "It really is you!" I said and ran into his open arms.

"I missed you Lil sis," he said teasingly.

I let the tears roll. "I missed you so much too"

Vincent cleared his throat beside us and Jerry unwrapped his arms around me.

"I missed you too" He spread out his arms and we all laughed.

That guy. Nicholas.

"My name is Allen," he stretched out his hand, smiling.

"I am Jerry's half-brother and an undercover for Vince." He explained.

"He's right, Sophie. His name is not Nicholas and he is not part of the bad guys. He's been working as an undercover for years now to help bring down Nathan and Cassandra." Vincent said.

"Nathan and Cassandra are high criminals and they have been active for years. They always get covered for their crimes by corruption and murdering. I wanted to make sure they don't escape good punishment this time so I led Vincent and the rest here." Allen furthered.

"What chip were they asking me for?"

"The chip contains my passcodes and I inserted it in the enclosed string attached to your glasses frame the day you asked me for a repair."

"But my glasses - it's broken, Cassie crushed it."

"I know. They were stupid enough to not know it was inserted there." Vincent said.

" Actually, it contains the duplicate" Jerry chipped in.

"Duplicate?!" We asked together.

"Yes. I guessed Nathan would not stop at a go so I had to swap it with the original the last time you asked me to get it for you."

"Oh my God!" Vincent said, hugging his friend tightly. "You are a lifesaver!"

"I will love to leave now and gather the rest of my evidence against Nathan and Cassy. We should review their case soon."

"Thanks, man!" They both shook hands with him after which he left.

"Now let's get you to the hospital. Bruce and father are waiting for you!"

CHAPTER 33💕💕

🖤🖤 SOPHIA🖤🖤

I laughed stubbornly. "So, you're the conniving bitch."

A look of horror passed across her face and just as quickly as it came,it disappeared. She smiled and rested her back on the chair.

"See-," she clicked her tongue, "Knew you would have heard a lot about me"
She laughed.

"Yeah..sure! I heard you're one deceitful, gold digging slt who jilted a good man who thought she was all the world to him and neglected an innocent child. You're one hell of a bitch you know.."

A sharp pain burnt my face where her hand had hit me. "Vincent lied to you."

"Umph! You expect me to believe you mo********er?!"

"Told you you talk too much!" She seethed.

"What more can you do? Shoot me?"

"No, sweetheart, you escaped it once and I'm gonna hold my fire till the person I need is finally here.

You should only cooperate and give me the necessary information I request of you pending the time of his arrival."

"They thought I was a fool" Nathan laughed, his chest heaving.

"She'll speak the truth, she is a good asset." Cassy chipped in.

Whatever they require of me I won't provide. I'm sure gonna make it hard for them till Vincent arrives.

"Where is my glasses?!"

"Oh..poor you, I crushed the stinking piece when it fell."

I closed my eyes tight, monsters!.

"So, Sophia-" she drawled out.

"Everyone in this room knows your marriage with Vincent is fake. I will just give a bit of my mind before I proceed.

Vincent, you may think loves you. But do not be deceived, he's only using you. Once he's done and has gotten whatever he's after,he will dump you and jump to a more sophisticated bitch that suits his position and will comfort him.

My dear, Vince is not the loving, sit with a bitch type of guy. He's selfish and will use you to his satisfaction.

Vincent took away all that was mine. He got me pregnant and selfishly took my baby for himself alone.

Now he's taken all what belongs to me from Nathan, I'm his wife and I deserve my share. My baby.

I don't care whatever he's told you, he is a liar. He has always been!.

Sweetheart,-" she trailed a finger down my face and I shut my eyes the more. Trying to not listen to her lies.

"All I need you to do for me now is to confirm that I am saying the truth concerning your fake marriage."

I opened my eyes and laughed sourly. Staring at her through dazed gaze, my vision blurry.

"Are you that blind to see the ring on my finger?"

"Fool!" They all laughed.

"You are an idiot Sophia. I see Vince has succeeded in making a fool out of you. You really think I am stupid enough to believe this sh*tty band on your finger? Well,it actually is none of my business, I have a total different issue with you.

Have you forgotten Vincent did the same with me a long time ago? I've been in this game a long time ago and of course, Nathan was a fool to have believed that but I am not.

Give us proves, certificates, anything-" she laughed.

"You'll all rot in jail, you bastards" I yelled.

"Well, I am not going to stress myself anymore,we weren't supposed to get you involved but Vincent did.

There's a chip with you and it holds Vincent's passcode . It is the only thing we need to access Vincent's accounts and get back what was supposed to be ours.

So cooperate and give it to us and we'll let you off easily before Vince gets here and suffer with you."

"What are you talking about? There isn't any chip with me."

She looked at me coldly. Guess we'll have to do this the fu***ng hard way.

Nathan snapped his fingers and two of the fierce huge men entered.

A cloth was stuffed in my mouth and one tipped my chin up, putting a knife to my throat.

She ordered one of the two guys around me to get a paper bag and a cigar.

Few minutes later, she stood up and walked out with her companions, leaving me alone in the cold dark garage.

Then they walked in again. This time with more awful fierce looking men.

She sat in front of me smoking a cigar and told me to calm down.

She brought out a phone and dialled numbers.

🖤🖤 VINCENT🖤🖤

I picked the unknown number at the fourth ring.

Cassandra's face came into view.

"Long time no see,Vince!"

"Where the f**k did you take Sophia to? I promise you if you do anything to hurt her you'll regret every fu***ng breath of your life."

"Wow, that is a whole lot of attitude for one you've seen in a long time."

"Answer me you selfish bitch!!" I yelled.

"Maybe you'll love to see this-" she said and moved sideway.

A strong, overpowering man, lunged over Sophia and threw a paper bag over her head, then tied a rope around her head. She was laid on the floor of what looked like a hotel in hell.

I felt my chest ripping with pain and anger. Sophia looked weak, she knew not to fight this man—she’ll lose for certain if she did. The only thing she could do was sweat, from her armpits, her forehead, all over her body.

"Hang in there for me Sophia" I yelled,my heart hurting that she had to go through all these because of me.

"She's done nothing wrong, you shouldn't treat her like this!"

"Seems someone is hurting for a loved one again" Uncle Nathan's face came into view and he laughed mockingly.
"You're remembering something?" He asked.

My heart tighten, I felt my head spinning. Mom! Dad! This was what the bastards did to them before they killed them.

"Sophia, Sophia!" I screamed into the handset. "Don't let them remove your cloth, don't allow them to fu***ng touch you. I'm coming for you, I swear, they will regret this!"

"So Vince,-" Cassandra's face showed again. "Are you ready to give me the chip, because your sweetheart won't cooperate."

"I swear to God if you touch a strand more of her hair, you'll not live to regret it."

"You have just 48hours to bring it here,or you'll lose her. Just. Like.Your. Parent.!

There was complete silence on the other end and the phone went off.

I slumped on the nearest chair and placed my face on my hand.

F**k! F**k! F**k!

I yelled as I brushed down everything on the table before me angrily. The pain in my arm stabbing angrily.

"Sophia will be fine. You need to calm down Vince and think. Bad people never wins." Larry said beside me, patting my shoulder.

"I hate that woman so much, she will hurt sweet Sophie.." Bruce cried.

"I swear, I will get Sophia out of there and treat those bastards to the reward they deserves."

"What is the next line of action?" Zack asked impatiently.

"I got everything covered!" Jerry said.

🖤🖤 SOPHIA🖤🖤

The man, Nicholas removed the bag off my face and the rope and the cloth stuffed in my mouth. He sat with Cassandra, who seemed not to get enough of the man's body and occasionally, biting hungrily at his lips.

Nathan walked around me with some men and gave me a devil’s smile. I closed my eyes and comfort myself that it is just a nightmare.

“This is not a dream, Miss! You better hope that bastard produce the chip with the passcode within 48 hours and hand it over to us.”

I looked at him with disgust and spat at him. "You are a monster, you've done enough to ruin his childhood, now you still won't stop your greediness.

I will ensure Vincent hand nothing over to you. Kill me if that will help!"

I was tied back to the chair and gagged. The tears burnt the back of my eyes.

He went out of the garage escorted by two body guards.

Cassandra left later with Nicholas.
