Democracy Day Message – June 12, 2026

Today, as Nigeria commemorates Democracy Day, we reflect on the sacrifices of our heroes past whose courage and resilience restored civil rule and gave us the freedoms we enjoy today. democracy thrives when institutions uphold justice and the rule of law. The Judiciary stands as the guardian of our Constitution, ensuring fairness, protecting rights, and holding power to account. The State Ministry of Justice plays a vital role in defending the public interest, ensuring access to justice, and translating democratic ideals into laws and policies that serve the people.

But democracy is not sustained by institutions alone. It demands active citizenship. Every Nigerian has a role, in voting responsibly, respecting the law, speaking truthfully, and participating in governance at every level.

Let us honour the labour of our heroes past by protecting the democracy they fought for, strengthening its institutions, and building a society where justice and accountability are not slogans, but reality.

Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria, May the salt of the land enrich us all ( Amen)

Forever Yours in service,

As we step into this new month, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every citizen of Ebonyi State has unfettered access to justice. In June, we will continue to strengthen our institutions, remove barriers to legal recourse, and uphold the rule of law for all – regardless of status, background, or circumstance.

Together, we will build an Ebonyi where justice is not a privilege, but a right enjoyed by all.
