I, Hon. Friday Ogbuewu, member representing Ezza South State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Abakaliki, heartily felicitate your Excellency, Rt Hon Francis Builder Ogbonna Nwifuru, on your landslide victory today at the appeal court sitting in Abuja, against the duo enemies of Ebonyi State's progress under your watch, whose preposterous joys are centered on the woes of Ebonyians. God forbid they have any materialized!

Your Excellency sir, that victory is nothing but a reaffirmation of the decisions of Ebonyians on March 11th guber election. It's indeed the Lord's doing. We, as people are happy because of this insurance of continuity of good projects for the people of Ebonyians.

As the Chairman House Committee on Aviation Authority, I have alongside the members of the committee, visited the State Ministry of Aviation Authority, Ebonyi State, for possible interfacing, and co-working, to ensure that there's adequate functionality of things as a newly birthed ministry in the State Government.

It was more of familiarization visit. The Hon. Commissioner of the ministry, Dr Mrs Ngọzi Obichukwu, and other principal stakeholders of the ministry, gave us a warm reception. Furthermore, we shared ideas together as partners who stand to get the best moving for the ministry. The State Government 'People's Charter of Needs' isn't running in exclusion of the ministry as the Governor is determined to ensure the generality in wellbeing of Ebonyians, both in all modes of transportation.

INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE:

Our struggle for freedom began before October 1st, 1960, the Independence Day. But over the years, we have faced challenges as people of diverse culture, multilingual entity, and as a country.

However, on this day, we celebrate our heroes whose efforts birthed the emancipation we are enjoying today as a nation. We say a prayer for those who are still alive among them, and also remember in our prayers those who died long ago among them. Their respective mausoleums demand our libations according to our relative tenets.

Furthermore, the anniversary of our Independence Day celebration is the moment we pray for our dear country, Nigeria, through our leaders in various levels. It's not incontrovertible that Nigeria as developing country has faced leadership failure in one way or the other, ranging from disease outbreaks, financial crises and corruption from public office holders. But we have survived and are still living today through the helps of dear good leaders. We have refused to give up amidst adversities. We are strong compatriots!

In this year's Independence Day celebration, it is the conviviality of Nigeria's 63rd years anniversary, and 27th years anniversary of our dear State, Ebonyi. Therefore, I'm using this opportunity to pray for our most performing leader, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt Hon Francis Builder O. Nwifuru, for more inspiration as he pilots the affairs of our State. He has demonstrated high leadership skills because of his rudimented onus in the areas of infrastructure, good administration, human infrastructure and otherwise. I also pray same for the honourable speaker Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Moses Ije Odunwa; Senator representing Ebonyi Central Zone, Sen. Chief Ken Chukwuemeka Eze; the honourable member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Chinedu Ọgah; and the Executive Chairman, Ezza South LGA, Chief Mrs Euphemia N. Nwali, in their respective capabilities towards achieving good leadership.

It is true that our government is unarguably trying, but it's still time to roll-up our sleeves in support of the ruling government to give our country the best. We must rise up to responsibilities both as the leaders and as the led. Through our State government, enabling policies have been made, empowerments of the masses prioritized, and laws which would guarantee the well-being, coexistence and harmony among our populace also made to be the order of the day. It is time to plough and not to plunder! By the virtue of this year's Independence Day celebration, we should imbibe the spirit of oneness, security of consciousness and be self obligatory to the government policies at all levels. Let's take it ours as it is and God will be all the glory. Happy Independence Day!
