Today, we remember and celebrate the life of a rare gem, a servant of the people, and a man whose passion for humanity defined his every step — Late Rt. Hon. Ossy Prestige.

Though you are no longer with us, your birthday still calls us to pause and reflect on a life lived with courage, conviction, and uncommon generosity. You were more than a politician; you were a brother to the people, a voice for the voiceless, and a leader who wore humility as a badge of honour.

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, I bring you warm Christmas greetings filled with hope, gratitude, and renewed faith in our collective future. Aba has always stood tall as a city of enterprise, innovation, and uncommon resilience. In the face of challenges, our people continue to demonstrate an unbreakable entrepreneurial spirit, turning skill into industry, ideas into businesses, and perseverance into progress. This is the true strength of Aba.

I commend the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, Governor Alex Chioma Otti, whose transformative vision is steadily restoring Aba to its rightful place as the commercial heartbeat of the South-East and the 'Japan of Africa'. From infrastructure renewal to improved governance, the signs of a new Aba are evident. These positive changes require our collective support, patience, and cooperation to be sustained and deepened. The house member Representing the good and industrious people of Aba Central State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly Umuahia, Hon Ucheonye, celebrated Christmas with his Igwebuike political platform today the 16th day of December 2024.

The joyous event brought together members of the Igwebuike platform, Councilors from Aba Central wards, the ward leaders, the market leaders in Aba Central and well-wishers to share in the festive spirit.

Hon Ucheonye used the medium of the the get together to appreciate his political platform for their overwhelming supports throughout the year. He further promised his Igwebuike team
that no one will be left out of his representation in the House of Assembly.

The people's representative, Hon Ucheonye Stephen Akachukwu ( Igwebuike) has congratulated the newly sworn-in Mayor Hon Obilor Anyanwu and his Deputy Hon Martin Nwankwo.

While speaking during a reception in honour of the newly sworn in Mayor and his deputy at the Mrs Priscilla Otti"s pavilion in Aba South LG, the Lawmaker stated that today marks a significant milestone in the lives of the Mayor and his Deputy to serve the people of Aba South.

According to the Lawmaker, the dedication, vision, and leadership of the Hon Anyanwu and his deputy will transform and undoubtedly propel Aba South towards greatness.

*Honourable Ucheonye Commends Governor Alex Otti (OFR) on FGN N50,000 NANO Business Grants To Abians; Urges Beneficiaries To Utilize Fund Effectively*

The people's Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), and the member representing the indomitable people of Aba Central State Constituency Honourable Ucheonye Stephen Akachukwu have once again demonstrated their commitment to empowering small businesses and entrepreneurs across the state. The recent attraction of the Federal Palliative Business Grant of N50,000 each to qualified small businesses is a testament to their dedication to fostering economic growth and development in Abia.

Under His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti (OFR) leadership, Abia State has witnessed significant strides in various sectors, including infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and security. His administration's focus on rebuilding and restoring the state's advantages has been unwavering, and the results are beginning to manifest. The outgoing Abia State Commissioner of Police Kene who was recently promoted to the rank of AIG was today, Friday, the 6th day of September 2024, received by the Aba Area Commander AC Ajayi Kayode and the RRS Commander CSP Uche Nwosu for the commissioning of the office complex built by Chief Anthony Ejianya (Chiboy Exchange) for the Rapid Response Squad.

The Commissioning of the edifice ceremony was graced by the Member Representing Aba Central State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ucheonye Stephen Akachukwu, the Mayor of Aba North Ide John Udeagbala, The Mayor of Aba South, Hon Uche Wogu, the Chairman of Ariaria International Market Ozoekwe Chikadibia. Also present at the event are the Traditional Ruler of Eziama Autonomous Community, the Abia State President of Cooperative Motor Unions Mr. Chukwuma Azode (China), the Chairman of New Motor Spare parts Aba Chief Onyeka Udeaja (Mmirrimaraugo), The Chairman of Ekeoha Shopping Centre Comrade Emeka Okeke (Mecon Global) and other dignitaries and high ranked police officers.

The Abia State Commissioner of Police Kenechukwu Onwemerie in his Speech described The Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR as one of the outstanding Governors in Nigeria who has shown leadership by example. The CP on behalf of the Inspector General of Police thanked Chief Anthony Ejianya (Chiboy Exchange) for his generous gesture to the RRS in particular and the police Community in general as he urged the Rapid Response Commander Uche Nwosu to ensure the judicious use of the edifice.

The Mayor of Aba North Ide John Udeagbala and the Member Representing Aba Central State Constituency Hon. Ucheonye Stephen Akachukwu Appreciated the kind gesture of Chiboy Exchange in their separate speeches. The duo also highlighted the importance of collective efforts in curbing security challenges in our society and call for more robust relationships between the police and the residents of Aba. Hon Ucheonye finally assured the Abia State outgoing Commissioner of Police that the Abia State House of Assembly will continue to provide legislative assistance and support to the Abia State Command of Nigeria Police in order to ensure effective and efficient policing in the state.

The high point of the event was the commissioning of the newly built structure by the Abia State Commissioner of Police Kenechukwu Onwemerie. The commissioner, Hon Ucheonye, The Mayors Of Aba North and South and other dignitaries were lead by the RRS Commander CSP Uche Nwosu to inspect the interiors of the building as well as other parts of the ops's surroundings.
