Meet Ethiopia Wuri G1 — a special lot from the BergWu Maker Series.

If you haven’t heard of Berg Wu, he’s the 2016 World Barista Champion from Taiwan and co-founder of Simple Kaffa. He was also the first Taiwanese barista to take home the World Barista Championship title.

So when we saw a Wuri lot selected under his Maker Series, of course we had to try it. 👀

And it’s such a lovely cup.

Think lemon custard, lychee & peach — creamy citrus sweetness, juicy fruits and delicate florals that open up even more as the coffee cools.

Bright, sweet, layered, but still super easy to enjoy.

Malaysia Barista Champion 2026, Ahmad Farhan, takes over our bar for one night. Three courses. Three original creations. A close up look at how a champion actually thinks and builds a drink.

Just 8 seats per session, so it's really you (and maybe someone special 👀) right there with Farhan as he talks through what it takes to win.

Candlelight. Low music. Farhan working right in front of you. Dress up or dress down, doesn't matter. Just show up.

Bolivia Los Rodriguez Pacamara Pink Honey

This one comes from the Rodriguez family in Caranavi, a family that has played a big part in growing Bolivia’s specialty coffee scene over the years.

For this lot, they’ve taken Pacamara — a variety known for its unusually large beans — and paired it with a Pink Honey process.

The result is a cup that leans towards the sweeter, deeper side of fruit.

Expect ripe black plum and raisin, followed by a smooth, lingering sugarcane sweetness as the cup cools. Not overly bright or acidic — just really sweet, juicy and easy to enjoy.

Kenya Uklili PB TOP Lot 26/02

Coming from Nyeri, this is a Peaberry (PB) lot — instead of the usual two seeds growing inside a coffee cherry, a peaberry develops as one single, round seed.

In the cup, it’s everything we enjoy about a good Kenyan coffee: lots of juicy fruit, with blackberry and sweet purple grapes, followed by a citrus brightness that keeps the cup fresh and lively.

It’s washed processed and grown at 1,650 MASL, with a mix of SL28, SL34, Ruiru and Batian.

A fun one for anyone who likes their filter coffee juicy, bright and fruit-forward.

New Release: Colombia Cauca Paraiso 92 Orange Bourbon P17

Produced by Wilton Benitez at Granja Paraíso 92 in Cauca, this Orange Bourbon goes through a Double Anaerobic process; two controlled stages of fermentation that help bring out more sweetness, aroma and complexity in the cup.

The result? A bright and juicy coffee with creamy lemon custard, white peach and soft florals, followed by a full body and sweetness that lingers as the cup cools. 🍋🍑

If you enjoy coffees that are fruity, sweet and a little dessert-like, this is a fun one to try.

Is 1:16 still the “standard” for pour-over?

Looking at this year’s World Brewers Cup finalists, we noticed something interesting; more competitors are brewing with tighter ratios, around 1:13–1:14.

Does that mean 1:16 is out? Definitely not.

If anything, it reminds us just how wide the possibilities are with coffee. Change the ratio, grind size, temperature or technique, and you might discover a completely different side of the same coffee.

There’s no single “perfect” recipe. Keep experimenting, keep tasting.
