SOME 60 people attended the inaugural Pulau Tikus Mini Guitar Festival (PTMGF) 2016 that was held on June 3 at Huey&Wah Cafe, Bellisa Row.

Pulau Tikus assemblymember, Yap Soo Huey was the guest of honour at the festival together with organising chairman, Brent Chong of SkoEduMusic.

"I really hope that our locals would learn to appreciate our fellow local musicians as they are all very talented to say the least. I also hope that PTMGF will grow to become an annual event that music lovers can look forward to," said Yap.

For the first year, PTMGF featured five very talented guitarist from all over Asia such as Naoki Ikuta from Japan, Pongpat Pongpradit of Thailand, and Az Samad, Sheila Julis and Chuah Yeong Chin from Malaysia.

In addition to the main event, workshops were also held on June 2 and 4 at SkorEduMusic's venue in Tanjung Bungah.

Big thanks to everyone who joined us yesterday at Pulau Tikus Mini Guitar Festival! It was the very first time we hosted an event like this, so our sincere apology if we have overlooked anything. We have definitely learned plenty of things yesterday, and would love to thank YB Yap Soo Hue, organiser Brent and of course all the performers for working with us. Hope you guys enjoyed the night as much as we did! 😊....
