VISIT TO DEFENCE SERVICES ASIA (DSA) 2026

On 22 April 2026, the Aerospace Society USM Club (AEROSOC) successfully organized a visit to Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2026, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. The visit involved 66 undergraduate students, 10 postgraduate students, and 6 lecturers and staff members from the School of Aerospace Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

The visit provided valuable exposure to the latest developments in the defence, security, and aerospace sectors through exhibitions, technology showcases, and engagement with industry representatives. Participants had the opportunity to observe advanced systems and innovations while gaining broader insight into real-world applications related to aerospace engineering.

This program aimed to enhance students’ knowledge, strengthen industry awareness, and support experiential learning beyond the classroom.

Through initiatives such as this, the School continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing meaningful exposure while fostering students’ interest in technology, innovation, and professional development.

STEM Motivational Visit to the School of Aerospace Engineering, USM

On 20 April 2026 (Monday), a group of 80 Form One students accompanied by 8 teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato’ Haji Hussein, Selama, Perak participated in a STEM motivational visit to the School of Aerospace Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), located at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Engineering Campus, Nibong Tebal.

The visit, which commenced at 2:30 PM, was organized with the objective of exposing students to the field of aerospace engineering while fostering their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to cultivate early awareness and enthusiasm among students towards technical and engineering-based careers.
Throughout the visit, students were introduced to fundamental concepts in aerospace engineering, including aircraft systems, flight principles, and emerging technologies in the aviation and space sectors. The program also provided an opportunity for students to engage directly with the university environment, allowing them to experience a higher education setting and better understand future academic pathways.

In addition to educational sharing sessions, the visit aimed to inspire students by showcasing real-world applications of STEM knowledge, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and innovation. The presence and guidance of accompanying teachers further enhanced the learning experience, ensuring students remained engaged and benefited fully from the program.
Overall, the visit was a meaningful and impactful initiative that successfully broadened students’ perspectives on STEM education and career opportunities, particularly within the aerospace domain. It is hoped that such programs will continue to motivate and nurture the next generation of engineers and innovators in Malaysia.

PENDAFTARAN MALAYSIA ROCKET CANSAT COMPETITION (MRCC) 2026 KINI DIBUKA

Malaysia Rocket CanSat Competition (MRCC) 2026 merupakan satu pertandingan anjuran Planetarium Negara, Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI) dengan kerjasama HEMREL-High Energy Material Research Laboratory Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Pertandingan ini merupakan satu platform untuk para pelajar mendapat pendedahan mengenai asas kejuruteraan roket serta mengaplikasikan kemahiran dan pemikiran kritikal dalam mereka bentuk, membina, menguji serta melancarkan roket mengikut piawaian pertandingan.
