SIRIM Sarawak continued its commitment to promoting Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) awareness and adoption among industry players through a strategic collaboration with the Sarawak Manufacturers’ Association (SMA). The programme was held on 10 June 2026 at Pullman Hotel, Kuching.

The event was officiated by the Regional Director of SIRIM Sarawak, Ts. Shahrizan M. Sahmoni, and aimed to strengthen industry understanding and implementation of ESG practices within the manufacturing sector, supporting Sarawak’s sustainability agenda.

The programme was graced by the presence of:

* Mr. Peter Chai Mui Seng, President of the Sarawak Manufacturers’ Association (SMA)
* Tn. Haji Ghani bin Abdul Rahman, Senior General Manager, Regional Offices, SIRIM Berhad

SIRIM Sarawak extends its sincere appreciation to SMA for its valuable collaboration and support in making this programme a success, reflecting a shared commitment towards advancing sustainable and responsible business practices in Sarawak.

Kunjungan SIRIM Sarawak ke Kementerian Sumber Asli & Pembangunan Bandar (MUDeNR) Sarawak hari ini menumpukan kepada perbincangan bagi pelaksanaan program latihan Sistem Pengurusan Kualiti yang ditawarkan oleh SIRIM Academy.

Dipengerusikan oleh YBrs. Tuan Haji Mahri bin Sarpawi, Ketua Bahagian Pentadbiran, Khidmat Pengurusan & Kewangan MUDeNR, sesi ini menjadi platform perkongsian ke arah memperkukuh kecekapan operasi, pematuhan piawaian serta penambahbaikan berterusan dalam penyampaian perkhidmatan.

Great to host a strategic discussion between SIRIM Berhad and the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre.

The session was led by YBhg. Datuk Ir. (Dr.) Khairol Anuar Tawi, Chairman of SIRIM, together with YBrs. En Nik Sazali Nik Hussin, Acting Group CEO of SIRIM, alongside YBhg. Dato’ Dr Yeo Tiong Chia, CEO of the Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, and YBrs. Hazwan bin Razak, CEO of BioVerde Technologies, the centre’s commercial arm.

The engagement highlighted promising opportunities for collaboration in advancing research, technology, and biodiversity-driven innovation.
