Sultan Ahmad Shah Medical Centre (SASMEC ), in collaboration with Phytotech Club IIUM Kuantan, successfully organised SCITRA: MEDKASIH VENTURE under the KPT Madani Sejahtera initiative on 9 May 2026.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli (JAKOA), Malaysia Relief Agency (MRA), and Volunteer Club IIUM Kuantan, held at Pusat Latihan JAKOA, Kampung Orang Asli Paya Bungor, Gambang.
Various engaging and educational activities were organised for the local community, including blood group testing, anthelmintic awareness sessions, CPR demonstrations, colouring contests and clown performances for children.
The activities were conducted with the involvement of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Department of Emergency & Trauma, as well as several other departments from SASMEC .
The programme is deemed successful after managed to receive an encouraging response, with more than 100 members of the Orang Asli community participating in the activities.
Under the decentralised initiative, SASMEC is more driven than ever to disseminating healthcare education to the masses and improving accessibility to the marginalised.
