Terengganu International and Excellence (TiDE) was officiated on 25th May 2007. TiDE has, recently changed its name to Terengganu Institute of Design and Excellence. TiDE is an agency incorporated under Yayasan Pembangunan Usahawan Terengganu (YPU) which was established to function as a service expert centre which is professional and systematic and aims for distinction in design development to imp
rove design creativity at international level. Apart from that, TiDE positions itself as a unified and distinguished information centre for design, principally in batik textile, songket and handmade craft such as brassware and wood carving. TiDE also acts as a reference centre for the entrepreneurs and designers primarily in Terengganu. In line with the attempt of the Terengganu Government to expand its wood carving industry, the aforesaid Government has established a wood carving complex known as Desa Ukiran Kayu (Wood Carving Village) in Kampung Raja, Besut under supervision of TiDE. In addition to its reserved functions, TiDE has also been given mandate to manage Galeri Seni Warisan Terengganu (Terengganu Heritage Art Gallery) which is located at Hadapan Bulatan Ladang,Kuala Terengganu,Terengganu.
