سفارة جمهورية العراق في كوالالمبور تكرم اكاديمي عراقي مرموق

كرمت سفارة جمهورية العراق في كوالالمبور، الأكاديمي العراقي الدكتور عمار الطالب، أستاذ الهندسة الميكانيكية في جامعة UCSI الماليزية، تقديراً لتميزه العلمي ودوره الدولي البارز، وذلك خلال لقاء جمعه بالقائم بالأعمال المؤقت المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار في 25 أيار 2026.
وجاء هذا التكريم تقديراً لإسهامات الدكتور الطالب بوصفه محكماً دولياً ملتزماً لأكثر من عشرة أعوام في مسابقة ITEX العالمية للابتكار، حيث يعد الأجنبي الوحيد في ماليزيا الذي جرى تكريمه ضمن هذه الفعالية من بين 1026 مشاركاً يمثلون 17 دولة، في إنجاز يعكس الحضور المتميز للكفاءات العراقية في المحافل العلمية الدولية.
وأكد القائم بالأعمال المؤقت خلال اللقاء حرص السفارة على دعم النخب العراقية في ماليزيا، وتعزيز دورها الأكاديمي والعلمي بوصفها ركيزة مهمة للتنمية والتعاون الدولي.
من جانبه، أعرب الدكتور عمار الطالب عن شكره وتقديره للسفارة على هذا التكريم، مشيداً بدعمها المتواصل للكفاءات العراقية، ومستعرضاً جانباً من مسيرته الأكاديمية في مجال التدريس والبحث العلمي في ماليزيا، وما تحققه الخبرات العراقية من حضور متقدم في المؤسسات العلمية العالمية.

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur Honors Distinguished Iraqi Academic

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur honored the distinguished Iraqi academic, Dr. Ammar Al-Talib, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at UCSI University, in recognition of his academic excellence and prominent international role. The honoring took place during a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counsellor Ahmed Ghanem Abduljabbar, on 25 May 2026.
The recognition was awarded in appreciation of Dr. Al-Talib’s contributions as a committed international judge for more than ten years at the ITEX International Innovation Competition, where he was the only foreign participant in Malaysia to be honored during the event among 1,026 participants representing 17 countries. This achievement reflects the distinguished presence of Iraqi competencies in international scientific forums.
During the meeting, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. affirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting Iraqi distinguished academics and professionals in Malaysia and to strengthening their academic and scientific role as an important pillar for development and international cooperation.
For his part, Dr. Ammar Al-Talib expressed his sincere appreciation to the Embassy for this recognition, commending its continued support for Iraqi talents. He also reviewed aspects of his academic journey in the fields of teaching and scientific research in Malaysia, highlighting the advanced standing achieved by Iraqi expertise within international scientific institutions.

القائم بالأعمال الموقت يشارك في فعالية دولية لتعزيز حقوق الطفل في ماليزيا

شارك القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، في المؤتمر الذي نظمته وزارة المرأة والأسرة وتنمية المجتمع الماليزية بعنوان (رحلة مشاركة ماليزيا في اتفاقية حقوق الطفل)، والذي عُقد بتاريخ 22/5/2026، في مقر الوزارة بالعاصمة الإدارية بوتراجايا، بحضور وزيرة المرأة والأسرة وتنمية المجتمع السيدة نانسي شوكري، إلى جانب عدد من رؤساء البعثات الدبلوماسية المعتمدة وممثلي المنظمات الدولية والخبراء المعنيين بحقوق الطفل.
وشهد المؤتمر استعراضاً لمسيرة التزام ماليزيا باتفاقية حقوق الطفل منذ انضمامها إليها قبل أكثر من ثلاثة عقود، كما تضمن عرضاً مرئياً وكلمات افتتاحية، أعقبتها مداخلات رسمية ركزت على أبرز الإنجازات التي تحققت في مجالات الرعاية الصحية للأمهات والأطفال، والتعليم، وأنظمة الحماية الأسرية، إلى جانب مناقشة التحديات المستجدة، ولا سيما في ظل تنامي المخاطر الرقمية التي تستهدف الأطفال.
كما تخلل الحدث إطلاق عدد من المبادرات ذات الصلة بتعزيز حقوق الطفل، فيما قدمت السيدة ياسمين شريف، مرشحة ماليزيا لعضوية لجنة الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الطفل للفترة (2027-2031)، ملاحظات ختامية أكدت فيها أهمية تكامل الجهود الدولية لمواجهة التحديات المشتركة في هذا المجال.
ويأتي تنظيم هذا المؤتمر في أعقاب مشاركة ماليزيا في تقديم تقريرها الدوري أمام لجنة حقوق الطفل التابعة للأمم المتحدة في جنيف مطلع العام الجاري، اذ حظيت بإشادة دولية للتقدم الذي أحرزته في هذا المجال، ما يعكس التزامها المستمر بإدماج حقوق الطفل ضمن أولويات سياساتها التنموية، انسجاماً مع رؤية (ماليزيا ماداني) القائمة على تعزيز العدالة الاجتماعية والتنمية الشاملة.

Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Participates in International Event to Promote Children’s Rights in Malaysia

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abdul Jabbar, participated in the conference organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development entitled “Malaysia’s Journey in the Convention on the Rights of the Child”, held on 22 May 2026 at the Ministry’s headquarters in the administrative capital, Putrajaya.
The conference was attended by the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Nancy Shukri, in addition to a number of Heads of accredited diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations, and experts concerned with children’s rights.
The conference reviewed Malaysia’s journey and commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child since its accession more than three decades ago. The programme included a visual presentation and opening remarks, followed by official interventions highlighting key achievements in the fields of maternal and child healthcare, education, and family protection systems, as well as discussions on emerging challenges, particularly in light of the growing digital risks targeting children.
The event also witnessed the launch of several initiatives related to the promotion of children’s rights. Ms. Yasmine Sherif, Malaysia’s candidate for membership of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child for the term 2027–2031, delivered concluding remarks emphasizing the importance of coordinated international efforts in addressing common challenges in this field.
The organization of this conference follows Malaysia’s presentation of its periodic report before the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child in Geneva earlier this year, during which the country received international recognition for the progress achieved in this area. This reflects Malaysia’s continued commitment to integrating children’s rights into the priorities of its developmental policies, in line with the vision of Malaysia MADANI, which is founded on promoting social justice and inclusive development.

القائم بالأعمال المؤقت يلتقي نائب رئيس دائرة المراسم بوزارة الخارجية الماليزية
التقى القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، بتاريخ ٢٠-٥- ٢٠٢٦، مع نائب رئيس دائرة المراسم بوزارة الخارجية الماليزية، السيد أزليمي زكريا، وذلك في المبنى الرئيس للوزارة بالعاصمة الإدارية بوتراجايا.
وتناول اللقاء بحث سبل تعزيز التعاون الثنائي بين العراق وماليزيا، بما يسهم في تطوير آليات التنسيق المشترك.
كما استعرض الجانبان أوجه التعاون القائمة بين البلدين، مؤكدين أهمية تعزيز التواصل بما يعكس متانة العلاقات الثنائية ويدعم آفاق تطويرها في مختلف المجالات.
وأكد القائم بالأعمال المؤقت حرص العراق على توطيد علاقاته مع ماليزيا، وتفعيل أطر التعاون المشترك، مشيدا بالدور الذي تضطلع به وزارة الخارجية الماليزية في دعم عمل البعثات الدبلوماسية المعتمدة.

Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Meets Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abdul Jabbar, met on 20 May 2026 with the Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Mr. Azlimi Zakaria, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the administrative capital, Putrajaya.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Malaysia in a manner that would contribute to strengthening mechanisms of joint coordination.
The two sides also reviewed the existing areas of cooperation between the two friendly countries, stressing the importance of enhancing communication in a way that reflects the strength of bilateral relations and supports prospects for their development across various fields.
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. reaffirmed Iraq’s keenness to further strengthen its relations with Malaysia and activate frameworks of joint cooperation, commending the role played by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in supporting the work of accredited diplomatic missions.
For his part, the Deputy Chief of Protocol expressed his Department’s readiness to enhance coordination with the Iraqi Embassy and provide the necessary facilitation in a manner that would contribute to elevating bilateral relations to broader horizons.

القائم بالأعمال المؤقت يستقبل الأكاديمي العراقي المرموق الدكتور فراس باسم النعيمي

استقبل القائم بالأعمال المؤقت المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، بتاريخ 14/5/2026، الأكاديمي العراقي الدكتور فراس باسم إسماعيل النعيمي، رئيس مركز التوليد الذكي للطاقة في جامعة الطاقة الوطنية الماليزية، في لقاء بحث سبل تعزيز التعاون العلمي والأكاديمي بين الجامعات العراقية ونظيراتها الماليزية.
وخلال اللقاء، أكد القائم بالأعمال المؤقت على أهمية توسيع آفاق الشراكة مع المؤسسات الأكاديمية الماليزية، ولا سيما في مجالات الطاقة المتجددة والتقنيات الذكية، بما ينسجم مع أولويات العراق في تطوير قطاع الطاقة وبناء القدرات الوطنية. وأشار إلى استعداد السفارة لتقديم التسهيلات اللازمة لتفعيل قنوات التواصل بين الجامعات العراقية ونظيراتها الماليزية.
من جانبه، استعرض الدكتور فراس النعيمي أبرز مشاريع المركز البحثية في مجالات التوليد الذكي للطاقة والشبكات الذكية، مؤكدا انفتاح الجامعة على إبرام مذكرات تفاهم مع الجامعات العراقية، بما يسهم في تبادل الخبرات وإطلاق برامج بحثية مشتركة، فضلا عن تطوير برامج تدريبية متخصصة للطلبة والباحثين.
وتناول اللقاء أوضاع الطلبة العراقيين الدارسين في الجامعة، حيث جرى التأكيد على أهمية توفير بيئة أكاديمية داعمة لهم، وتعزيز التواصل المستمر مع السفارة لمعالجة التحديات التي قد تواجههم، بما يضمن استقرارهم وتفوقهم العلمي.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Receives Distinguished Iraqi Academic Dr. Firas Basim Al-Nuaymi
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar, received on 14 May 2026 the distinguished Iraqi academic Dr. Firas Basim Ismail Al-Nuaymi, Director of the Smart Energy Generation Center at National Energy University of Malaysia, in a meeting that discussed ways to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi universities and their Malaysian counterparts.
During the meeting, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. emphasized the importance of expanding partnership horizons with Malaysian academic institutions, particularly in the fields of renewable energy and smart technologies, in line with Iraq’s priorities in developing the energy sector and strengthening national capacities. He also affirmed the Embassy’s readiness to provide the necessary facilitation to activate channels of communication between Iraqi and Malaysian universities.
For his part, Dr. Al-Nuaymi reviewed the Center’s major research projects in the areas of smart energy generation and smart grids, stressing the University’s openness to concluding memoranda of understanding with Iraqi universities in a manner that would contribute to the exchange of expertise, the launch of joint research programs, as well as the development of specialized training programs for students and researchers.
The meeting also addressed the conditions of Iraqi students enrolled at the University, where both sides underscored the importance of providing a supportive academic environment for them and maintaining continuous communication with the Embassy to address any challenges they may encounter, in a way that ensures their stability and academic excellence.
Furthermore, the two sides discussed means of strengthening scientific cooperation between specialized Iraqi colleges and National Energy University of Malaysia through the exchange of academic visits, joint supervision of research projects, and the organization of conferences and scientific workshops in the fields of energy and advanced technology.

القائم بالأعمال المؤقت يحضر أمسية ثقافية نظمتها السفارة الروسية في كوالالمبور

شارك القائم بالأعمال المؤقت المستشار احمد غانم عبد الجبار بتاريخ 8-4-2026 في أمسية ثقافية نظمتها سفارة روسيا الاتحادية في كوالالمبور بالتعاون مع جامعة مارا للتكنولوجيا.
وشهد الحفل حضور عدد من ممثلي البعثات الدبلوماسية المعتمدة في العاصمة الماليزية، إلى جانب نخبة من المثقفين والمهتمين بالأدب والفنون الروسية، في مشهد يعكس أهمية التبادل الثقافي كجسر للتواصل بين الشعوب.
وافتُتحت فعاليات الحفل بكلمة ألقاها سفير روسيا الاتحادية لدى ماليزيا، السيد ناييل م. لاتيبوف، أكد فيها على الدور الحيوي الذي تضطلع به الدبلوماسية الثقافية والشعبية في توثيق أواصر العلاقات الدولية، مشيرا إلى عمق العلاقات التي تربط بلاده بماليزيا في مختلف المجالات، ومثمنا الزيارات الرسمية رفيعة المستوى التي شهدتها العلاقات الثنائية مؤخرا، ولا سيما زيارة ملك ماليزيا السلطان إبراهيم بن إسكندر إلى موسكو.
وتضمنت الأمسية باقة من العروض الفنية والثقافية مستوحاة من التراث الروسي، قدمها عدد من طلبة المعاهد الفنية الروسية.
وفي ختام الحفل، أعرب السفير الروسي عن تقديره لمشاركة القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، مثمنا حضوره وتفاعله مع هذا الحدث الثقافي، الذي يعكس أهمية التواصل الثقافي في العلاقات الدول وشعوبها.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Attends a Cultural Evening Organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kuala Lumpur
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abdul Jabbar, participated on 8 April 2026 in a cultural evening organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kuala Lumpur in cooperation with Universiti Teknologi MARA.
The event was attended by a number of representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the Malaysian capital, in addition to a distinguished group of intellectuals and individuals interested in Russian literature and arts, reflecting the importance of cultural exchange as a bridge for communication among peoples.
The ceremony commenced with remarks delivered by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Malaysia, Nayil M. Latypov, who emphasized the vital role played by cultural and people-to-people diplomacy in strengthening international relations. He also highlighted the depth of the relations between his country and Malaysia across various fields, while commending the recent high-level official visits that have taken place between the two countries, particularly the visit of Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar to Moscow.
The evening featured a variety of artistic and cultural performances inspired by Russian heritage, presented by students from Russian art institutes

شارك القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، بتأريخ 6-5-2026 في أعمال (منتدى القيادة والشراكة لآسيان 2026) الذي انطلقت فعالياته في العاصمة الماليزية كوالالمبور، بمشاركة رفيعة المستوى من قادة حكوميين ووزراء وبرلمانيين وخبراء اقتصاديين من دول جنوب شرق آسيا.
ويُعقد المنتدى هذا العام تحت عنوان:(التنقل بآسيان في عصر جيوسياسي جديد: الحفاظ على المركزية، تأمين الازدهار، وتمكين الشعوب) حيث ناقش أبرز التحديات الجيوسياسية والاقتصادية التي تواجه دول الآسيان، إلى جانب سبل تعزيز التكامل الإقليمي وتعزيز مرونة الاقتصادات أمام المتغيرات العالمية

Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Participates in the ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum 2026 in Kuala Lumpur
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abdul-Jabbar, participated on 6 May 2026 in the ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum 2026, which commenced in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, with high-level participation from government leaders, ministers, parliamentarians, and economic experts from Southeast Asian countries.
The Forum is held this year under the theme: “Navigating ASEAN in a New Geopolitical Era: Preserving Centrality, Securing Prosperity, and Empowering Peoples.” It addressed key geopolitical and economic challenges facing ASEAN countries, as well as ways to enhance regional integration and strengthen economic resilience in the face of global developments.
The opening session featured welcoming remarks by a number of prominent figures, including leaders of regional business councils and Asian policy and strategic think tanks. The programme also included the participation of senior current and former officials from ASEAN countries, in addition to representatives from the economic and investment sectors.
During his participation, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. followed the discussions addressing several key issues, including strategies to address geopolitical tensions, rising energy prices and inflation, as well as the future of the digital economy, the transition to green energy, and the strengthening of supply chains and regional economic integration.

Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Meets Malaysia’s Iraq Desk Officer to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations
The Chargé d'Affaires a.i., Counselor Ahmed Ghanim Abdul-Jabbar, accompanied by First Secretary Ahmed Ali Jassim, met on 5 May 2026 with the Iraq Desk Officer at the Bilateral Relations Division (West Asia Section) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Ms. Maryam Masyita Ahmad Tarmizi, at the Ministry's headquarters in Putrajaya.
The meeting focused on ways to further develop bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and to enhance prospects for cooperation across various fields of mutual interest.
Both sides reviewed the overall trajectory of Iraq–Malaysia relations and discussed means to elevate them to higher levels through intensified communication and the activation of joint cooperation mechanisms, in a manner that serves mutual interests and strengthens the framework of bilateral partnership.
During the discussions, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. briefed the Malaysian side on recent political developments in the Republic of Iraq, particularly the designation of Mr. Ali Al-Zubaidi to form the new government, underscoring the broad national, regional, and international attention this constitutional milestone has garnered as an important step in Iraq's democratic process.
Both sides also emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and expanding areas of cooperation to further consolidate bilateral relations and advance them across various sectors of shared interest.
On her part, the Malaysian official expressed appreciation for the visit of the Chargé d'Affaires a.i., commending his commitment to strengthening engagement with officials of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also reaffirmed Malaysia's continued coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in support of the development of bilateral relations and the advancement of the common interests of both friendly countries.

شارك القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، بتاريخ 30-4-2026، في (منتدى رابطة دول جنوب شرق آسيا (آسيان): مركزية آسيان والتعاون العابر للأقاليم)، الذي نظمه معهد الدبلوماسية والعلاقات الخارجية الماليزي بالتعاون مع وزارة الخارجية الماليزية، بمشاركة واسعة من مسؤولين حكوميين ودبلوماسيين وخبراء دوليين.

Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Participates in ASEAN Regional Cooperation Forum
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abduljabbar, participated on 30 April 2026 in the “Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Forum: ASEAN Centrality and Cross-Regional Cooperation,” organized by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations of Malaysia in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, with broad participation from government officials, diplomats, and international experts.
The forum, held in Kuala Lumpur, brought together approximately 150 participants, including decision-makers, diplomats, representatives of think tanks, and civil society representatives. Discussions focused on exchanging views and ideas on ways to enhance regional cooperation and to develop practical solutions to shared challenges.

القائم بالأعمال المؤقت يلتقي نائب رئيس شركة بتروناس الماليزية لبحث التعاون في قطاع الطاقة

التقى القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، بتاريخ 28/4/2026، مع كبار مسؤولي شركة بتروناس الماليزية، وذلك في مقرها الرئيس بمركز مدينة كوالالمبور، وضم اللقاء كلا من نائب الرئيس التنفيذي لقطاع الاستكشاف والإنتاج، السيد محمد جوكريس عبد الوهاب، والرئيس الإقليمي لفرع الشركة في العراق السيد محمد بوهاري بن محمد علي، الى جانب عدد من المسؤولين في الشركة.
وبحث الجانبان خلال الاجتماع سبل تعزيز التعاون في مجالات الطاقة، ولا سيما في قطاعي الاستكشاف والإنتاج، إضافة إلى استعراض الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة وتوسيع آفاق الشراكة بين الجانبين بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة.
وأكد القائم بالأعمال المؤقت حرص الجهات المعنية في جمهورية العراق على تطوير علاقات التعاون مع الشركات الدولية الرائدة في ماليزيا، مشيداً بالدور الذي تضطلع به شركة بتروناس في قطاع الطاقة، وخبرتها المتقدمة في مجالات النفط والغاز.
من جانبهم، أعرب مسؤولو الشركة عن اهتمامهم بتعزيز حضورهم في العراق وفي الأسواق الإقليمية مؤكدين استعدادهم لتوسيع أنشطتهم واستثماراتهم، بما يسهم في دعم مشاريع الطاقة وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.

Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Meets PETRONAS Vice President to Discuss Cooperation in the Energy Sector
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Counsellor Ahmed Ghanim Abdul Jabbar, met on 28 April 2026 with senior officials of the Malaysian company PETRONAS at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The meeting was attended by the Senior Vice President for Exploration and Production, Mr. Mohd Jukris Abdul Wahab, and the Regional Head of the company’s Iraq office, Mr. Mohd Bohari Mohd Ali, along with a number of company officials.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in the fields of exploration and production. They also reviewed available investment opportunities and explored avenues to expand partnership prospects in a manner that serves mutual interests.
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. affirmed the keenness of the relevant authorities in the Republic of Iraq to further develop cooperation with leading international companies in Malaysia, commending the role played by PETRONAS in the energy sector and its advanced expertise in the oil and gas industry.
