So now they’re investigating the 2019 SEA Games? Fine. But where is the same urgency when it comes to the alleged flood control anomalies that have affected countless Filipinos?

If the government is truly committed to accountability, then every allegation—regardless of who may be involved—should be investigated with the same determination. The Filipino people deserve equal justice, not selective investigations.

Billions of pesos have been spent on flood control projects over the years, yet many communities continue to experience devastating floods. The public deserves a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation into those concerns as well.

Justice should never be selective. Accountability must apply to everyone.

Isang bata na naman ang lumaking ulila dahil sa isang walang saysay na desisyon.

May tatlong taong gulang na anak ang rider. Isa siyang single father na buong tapang na lumalaban sa buhay. Ang pangarap niya ay makapag-abroad upang mabigyan ng mas magandang kinabukasan at maipagamot ang kanyang anak.

Ngunit sa isang iglap, lahat ng pangarap na iyon ay naglaho.

Mas masakit pa rito, isang buwang gulang pa lamang ang sanggol na naulila sa kanyang ina, at ngayon ay kinuha pa ang karapatan niyang lumaki kasama ang kanyang ama. Dalawang inosenteng bata ang habambuhay na magdadala ng sakit at pangungulila dahil sa isang marahas at walang saysay na krimen.

Ang tunay na biktima rito ay hindi lamang ang rider—kundi ang mga batang naiwan na wala nang yakap ng magulang na kanilang aasahan.

Nakakagalit isipin na may mga taong pinipiling kitilin ang buhay ng kapwa kaysa harapin ang hamon ng buhay nang may pananagutan. Walang anumang dahilan ang makapagbabalik sa buhay na nawala o makapagpapawi sa sakit ng mga naiwang pamilya.

Kaya maraming Pilipino ang naniniwala sa paninindigan ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte:

“A leader must be a terror to the few who are evil, to protect the lives and well-being of the many who are good.”

Ang mensaheng ito ay sumasalamin sa hangarin ng marami na mahigpit na mapanagot ang mga gumagawa ng mabibigat na krimen upang maprotektahan ang mga inosente at mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan.

Hustisya para sa rider. Hustisya para sa mga batang naulila. Nawa’y manaig ang batas, pananagutan, at proteksyon para sa bawat inosenteng Pilipino.

STATEMENT
July 14, 2026

Mga kababayan,

On Day 4 of the impeachment trial, the country witnessed what I have been saying all along: the complaint is not supported by evidence.

Repeatedly claiming that there were threats when none existed, inventing an assassin where there was none, and fabricating evidence to support those claims does not transform fiction into fact. Instead, such actions undermine the integrity of public institutions, erode public trust, waste public resources, and corrupt the search for truth.

An impeachment proceeding should be grounded in credible evidence, not speculation, manufactured narratives, or unsupported allegations. The rule of law depends on facts, not fiction.
