As healthcare systems evolve globally, cross-border collaboration is increasingly shaping more resilient and future-ready care models. 🇲🇾🤝🇫🇮
Against this backdrop, MHTC participated in a Malaysia–Finland bilateral engagement hosted by the Ministry of Health Malaysia at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The discussion was led by YB Dato Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib alongside H.E. Laura Rissanen, State Secretary (Deputy Minister), Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland, reflecting shared priorities around healthcare system strengthening, innovation, and international collaboration.
The Finnish delegation also comprised of Ms. Outi Kuivasniemi (Deputy Director for International Affairs), Mr. Otto Helve (Director of Public Health, Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare), and Ms. Maiju Lepomäki (Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur).
The Malaysian delegation included Mr. Suriaghandi Suppiah (CEO, MHTC), Dr. Ainul Nadziha Mohd Hanafiah (Deputy Director, Policy and International Relations Division), Dr. Noraryana Hassan (Director, Disease Control Division), Dr. Shaifuzah Ariffin (Deputy Director, Digital Health Division), and Puan Norlela Hatta@Antah (Senior Director, International Relations and Industry Division, Medical Device Authority), together with representatives from the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
From a medical tourism perspective, such engagements strengthen the foundation for deeper international collaboration, supporting trust-building, knowledge exchange, and more connected healthcare pathways across borders.
We thank the Ministry of Health Malaysia for hosting this dialogue, and our Finnish counterparts for the constructive exchange.
