⚠️ SCAMMER in F&B businesses Kota Kinabalu ⚠️
亚庇食物诈骗

There seems to be an increasing number of suspected “food compensation scam” cases targeting restaurants lately.

The pattern usually goes like this:

* Customer claims they found foreign objects/insects in the food
* Pressures the shop for compensation/medical fees
* Requests instant transfer/refund before proper investigation
* Similar conversation patterns and tactics have reportedly appeared across multiple outlets

We’re sharing this to raise awareness among fellow F&B operators so everyone can stay cautious and handle such situations professionally.

✅ Always:

* Keep CCTV footage
* Record customer details & receipts
* Request proper medical documentation
* Investigate before making compensation transfers
* Keep communication documented

This post is not meant to deny genuine customer complaints, but to remind businesses to stay alert against possible abuse and scam tactics.

Please share with other F&B owners in KK to spread awareness 🙏

First time going up to the first floor in 📍Dongonggon. I was shocked to see the zinc awning roof covered with piles of rubbish, as if it were a dumping site. Such dirty and irresponsible behaviour… 😡

📍Donggongon
These people renting upstairs at the end here throw rubbish down every single day, from small items to big bulky things. They just throw it down like that. The local council hasn’t taken any action at all. So many times it almost hit people passing by, and cars have also been hit by thrown rubbish multiple times already.

Come on lah. If the people renting upstairs are reading this, please use a bit of common sense. This is seriously too stupid and irresponsible.

"Please forgive my ignorance, I genuinely want to ask everyone. I’m not an entertainment venue, nor am I running a karaoke business. I just play normal music in my small restaurant, music I find on YouTube, basically for myself to listen to. Then you come and collect copyright fees. The music wasn’t supplied by you. If you supplied it and I had to pay, I’d accept that. But these songs are uploaded to YouTube by the singers themselves. I play them to listen, do I still need to pay copyright fees? And if you collect these fees, do they actually go to the singers? No matter how I think about it, it doesn’t seem to make sense. Can someone please explain this to me?"
