本团是怡保成立於1924年的非營利組织。是由热爱文化艺术前贤所组成,目的是服务社会。团內设有乒乓、跆拳道、散手、交際舞等。我舞獅是其中之一。近年,很荣幸的能追隨推動文化著名导師(蕭斐弘)的脚步;探讨后,以革新"系统化"的教学方式指导学员,务使更居效律。习艺的同時也注重於"八德"修持~忠正毅勇智誠和禮。祈望日後能和我们有共同理念的朋友交流,,推動我們優秀的文化寶藏。

About us
Established in year 1924, Loh Han Duan is one of the oldest Lion Dance association in Ipoh. Most of our ancestor are from China. After they have settle down in here, they began to establish
ed Loh Han Duan Association. At beginning, most of our members are involve in performing street aerobatic, Weight Lifting, Body Building, Boxing, Wushu, Lion & Dragon Dancing and many more. In the years of 60s onwards, Loh Han Duan did gain a lot of fame from its activities. From Boxing till Body Building and lion dance and have become champion several times and it’s a golden era for Loh Han Duan. As the time passed by, Loh Han Duan already included some others activities in the association such as Ping Pong, Tae Kwan Do, San Shou and more. With our vast of experience in lion dance teaching, Our Sifu Yap Kan Choon together with a team of veteran instructor invented a systematic lion dance teaching method in April 2004. With this method, the learning and understanding process in lion dancing become easy and easy and this is suitable to all beginners regardless of age or gender which you can master the basic skill within three months if you put some effort in it. Since young, our Sifu Yap Kan Choon is learning the art of Fut San Lion Dance skill from Chin Woo- Ipoh under the guidance of our Grand Master Sifu Wong Chuen Fatt and Grand Master Sifu Loke Siek Kong. After he completed his education, he have been invited to teach and lead the Lahat Lion Dance Troupe and in 1995, he been invited again to teach another subsidiary team called Kinta Pu Ti Lian She Lion Dance Troupe which is established by a local Chinese temple. In 1997, he have been officially invited to lead our current association "Loh Han Duan - Ipoh" Lion Dance Team. At beginning when he is taken over the team, there aren’t many resources are left to us and many activities have been stop functioning just after the previous Sifu have left the association few years ago. There is a lots of obstacle in front of him. Problems with problems, betrayal and betrayal, gossip and gossiping , sabotage and sabotage, people no confident and looked down at us and yet the equipment sponsorship issue which is hardly to find and it become our main problems thus it keep on affecting our growing process. Together hand in hand with a team of veteran member and with our strong determination and wills power, we overcome the obstacle one by one. Slowly, we began to pick up the skill and adapt the new training system after few years of hard work and we began keep on the track. Soon after that, we start to participate in Lion Dance Competition including of establish back our others activities. Some people may ask, why your troupe got so many problems? Is it your leadership problem ? why we do this and that and why not just give up since there a lots of problem ahead of us? and there is a lots of WHY coming from people around us. The reason behind it is because our love in this arts and it is our aim to continue to research and promote the lion dance activities to its greater heights no matter how difficult is it and this is the reason that allowed us to continue on our journey. Whenever a problem happened, it will makes us stronger after we solve the problems and perhaps we might learned something from it also. Sometimes we may feel tired and want to give up as there is quite many things keep on happening but as a positive thinker, we will choose to believe that sooner or later we will succeed in bring our team to a greater height. Soon a good news starting to come by. In Sept 2007, it’s become our most pleasure year because we would never imagine that we would meet Grand Master Sifu Siow Ho Phiew (the world known and most beloved and an idol Master of many lion dancer). Under his guidance and guideline we began to learn the arts of Sar Ping Hok San Lion and beside that, he also given us the most valuable "eight golden word" that may change your life and attitude which is "Ba Tuck" (The 8 Moral Principle for Self Cultivation). Unfortunately, in the year of 2004 and 2009, both Lahat Lion Dance Troupe & Kinta Pu Ti Lian She Lion Dance Troupe have finally been dismissed due to some others reason but it’s will not stop us here and in the Year of 2013, we successfully re-established back our Dragon Dance team. On 28 Jan 2016 at 9pm, there is an eye dotting ceremony which is held at Ipoh Tow Boh Keong Temple and finally we successfully established a new team which is the Five Holy Beast team which consist of Dragon, Southern Lion, Northern Lion, Pi Xiu and Hakka Qilin. We would like to express our gratitude to all the personnel from the temple, Sin Chew Jit Poh Media and all our Loh Han Duan Managing Committee for all the support that have shown to us. It’s truly a great motivation for us to move on. We will continue to promote and research further in the arts of lion dancing to its greater limits.
