SINGGAHAN PERTAMA KAPAL KRUIS MV ZHAO SHANG YI DUN / VIKING YI DUN DI PELABUHAN PULAU PINANG
Pelabuhan Pulau Pinang telah menerima singgahan pertama kapal kruis MV Zhao Shang Yi Dun / Viking Yi Dun pada 15 Jun 2026. Bagi menyambut ketibaan kapal tersebut, satu sesi lawatan dan sambutan rasmi telah diadakan yang diketuai oleh YBhg. Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin, Pengerusi Suruhanjaya Pelabuhan Pulau Pinang (SPPP), bersama pegawai-pegawai SPPP serta wakil daripada Penang Port Sdn. Bhd. (PPSB).
Sepanjang lawatan tersebut delegasi SPPP dan PPSB telah diberikan taklimat mengenai operasi serta kemudahan kapal, selain dibawa meninjau pelbagai fasiliti dan ruang utama di atas kapal bagi mendapatkan gambaran menyeluruh mengenai pengalaman yang ditawarkan kepada para penumpang.
Sebagai simbolik hubungan kerjasama yang baik serta tanda penghargaan, sesi pertukaran cenderamata turut diadakan antara pihak kapal, SPPP dan PPSB. Program ini mencerminkan komitmen berterusan semua pihak dalam memperkukuh kedudukan Pelabuhan Pulau Pinang sebagai destinasi persinggahan utama kapal kruis di rantau ini serta menyokong pertumbuhan sektor pelancongan maritim negara

MAIDEN CALL OF MV ZHAO SHANG YI DUN / VIKING YI DUN AT PENANG PORT
Penang Port welcomed the maiden call of the cruise vessel MV Zhao Shang Yi Dun / Viking Yi Dun on 15 June 2026, marking another significant milestone for the state's maritime tourism industry. To commemorate the vessel's arrival, an official welcoming and ship visit programme was held led by YBhg. Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin, Chairman of the Penang Port Commission (PPC) accompanied by officers from the Penang Port Commission (PPC) and representatives from Penang Port Sdn. Bhd. (PPSB). During the visit, the PPC and PPSB delegation was briefed on the vessel’s operations and facilities, and was given a guided tour of the ship’s key areas and amenities to gain a better understanding of the onboard experience offered to passengers.
As a gesture of goodwill and appreciation, a plaque exchange ceremony was also held between the vessel’s representatives, PPC and PPSB. The programme reflects the continued commitment of all parties in strengthening Penang Port’s position as a premier cruise destination in the region while supporting the growth of Malaysia’s maritime tourism sector.
