SEDA Malaysia Perlu Kekal Relevan Mendepani Cabaran Teknologi Masa kini

Pihak Berkuasa Pembangunan Tenaga Lestari (SEDA) Malaysia perlu kekal relevan dengan sentiasa menyesuaikan diri kepada perubahan pesat teknologi dan tuntutan era digital.

YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah Hussin, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif SEDA Malaysia berkata, kepentingan sinergi antara teknologi Kecerdasan Buatan (Artificial Intelligence – AI) dan nilai kemanusiaan adalah penting bagi memastikan kemajuan teknologi dimanfaatkan secara beretika, bertanggungjawab dan memberi manfaat kepada masyarakat.

“Transformasi digital dan kemajuan teknologi tidak boleh mengatasi kepentingan nilai kemanusiaan.

“Walau sehebat mana teknologi berkembang, ia tetap perlu dipandu oleh pertimbangan yang wajar, empati dan akauntabiliti manusia.” katanya dalam ucapan pada Majlis Perhimpunan Bulanan SEDA Malaysia Bil. 3/2026 di Ibu Pejabat SEDA Malaysia hari ini.

Pada majlis itu, beliau turut menyeru warga kerja agar meningkatkan literasi AI dan digital, tangkas merubah cara kerja lama, mencorak pemikiran dan merencana gaya kerja seiring dengan teknologi masa kini. Teknologi dan inovasi akan terus berkembang, namun manusia kekal sebagai pemangkin terpenting dalam memberi nilai dan tujuan bagi setiap pelaksanaan kerja.

Sementara itu, beliau turut merakamkan penghargaan atas komitmen dan dedikasi seluruh warga kerja SEDA Malaysia dalam melaksanakan amanah serta tanggungjawab yang diberikan.

Turut hadir Encik Koh Keng Sen, Ketua Pegawai Operasi SEDA Malaysia, bersama barisan Ketua-Ketua Bahagian serta warga kerja SEDA Malaysia.

5 June 2026 | Australia-Malaysia Net Zero Two-Way Investments Forum

Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia participated in the Australia-Malaysia Net Zero Two-Way Investments Roundtable at EQ Kuala Lumpur. The event united industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and investors from both nations to explore clean energy and net-zero investment opportunities.

Representing SEDA Malaysia as a panellist, Mr. Saiful Hakim Abdul Rahman (Chief Strategy Officer) shared key insights on Malaysia’s renewable energy ecosystem, evolving policies, and investment opportunities driving the nation’s energy transition.

The panel session, “Net Zero Investment Landscape & Opportunities in Australia and Malaysia”, also featured Dr. Subbu Sethuvenkatraman, Research Leader, CSIRO, and Ms. Jacqui Bridge, Executive General Manager Network Investment, Powerlink Queensland. The session was moderated by Mr. Lachlan McPhee, Second Secretary (Political and Economic), Australian High Commission Malaysia.

The roundtable, organised by Austrade in partnership with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), provided a valuable platform to foster dialogue, strengthen partnerships and unlock new avenues for sustainable investments between both countries.

Day 2 | The Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26) | KLCC

Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia continues its participation at ETCon26, held from 3 – 5 June 2026.

SEDA Malaysia was also honoured to welcome YB Datuk Rais Datuk Wira Yasin, Melaka Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management to the SEDA Malaysia booth, reflecting continued engagement and support towards Malaysia’s sustainable energy and climate agenda.

The visit was also attended by Dato’ Hamzah Hussin, Chief Executive Officer of SEDA Malaysia, Mr. Koh Keng Sen, Chief Operating Officer of SEDA Malaysia, and Mr. Saiful Hakim Abdul Rahman, Chief Strategy Officer of SEDA Malaysia, together with several Heads of Division of SEDA Malaysia.

Their presence underscores the strong commitment across both federal and state levels in advancing Malaysia’s energy transition agenda.

According to the media statement released by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) on 22 May 2026, the Government has introduced a new incentive programme to encourage the installation of solar PV systems for domestic consumers known as the Sustainable Rebate & Incentive Assistance (SuRIA) Home.

Key highlights of SuRIA Home:

One-time cash rebate: RM600/kWac up to a maximum of RM3,000 for Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP) domestic customers (Malaysian Citizen) and have not received any prior cash rebate under previous SolaRIS programme. Subject to the terms and conditions of SuRIA Home.

Rebate allocation: Based on a first-come, first-served basis from 1 June until 31 December 2026. Customers must successfully commission their solar PV system installations by 31 December 2026, or until all SuRIA Home rebate allocation are fully distributed, whichever comes first.

Rebate disbursement: The rebate will be transferred to the preferred local bank account under the registered TNB customer after receiving an email from TNB for SuRIA Home application.
Important Reminder: PETRA has emphasized that any party, including solar service providers, found to be misusing the application may be blacklisted from participating in future incentive programmes.

Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia was honoured to be part of the Official Launch of the Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26), one of Malaysia’s premier platforms driving dialogue, collaboration and innovation towards a sustainable energy future.

The launch ceremony was officiated by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, YB Dato’ Sri Abdul Rahman Haji Mohamad, Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), and Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

Representing SEDA Malaysia at the event were Dato’ Hamzah Hussin, Chief Executive Officer of SEDA Malaysia, Mr. Koh Keng Sen, Chief Operating Officer of SEDA Malaysia, and Mr. Saiful Hakim Abdul Rahman, Chief Strategy Officer of SEDA Malaysia, together with several Heads of Division of SEDA Malaysia.

Held from 3–5 June 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), ETCon26 brings together policymakers, industry leaders and stakeholders to accelerate Malaysia’s energy transition agenda and advance the nation’s sustainable development aspirations.

SEDA Malaysia remains committed to championing renewable energy and supporting the nation’s transition towards a low-carbon future.
