Dear friends and colleagues,
On behalf of the organising committee, we would like to welcome you to the 12th
Annual Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (DIN) meeting in Putrajaya on
the 7th – 8th October 2018.
Malaysian Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (MSDIN) has
decided to continue with the task of organizing the Annual Diagnostic and
Interventional Nephrology meeting in collaborate with Postgraduate Renal Society
Malaysia (PGRSM).
This year the theme for the 12th Annual Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology
(DIN) meeting is ” Individualising Dialysis Access Care for Optimal Outcome”.
This is line with the dialysis access challenges faced by healthcare providers as the
population of elderlies and diabetics with end stage renal failure continue to
increase in this region. Furthermore, with the extremely low transplant rate in most
part of Asia, Asians with end stage renal failure will need to depend on their dialysis
access as their lifeline for a very much longer duration compared to Caucasions.
Hence it is vital that dialysis access care is individualised for optimal access and
patient outcome.
For the first time, the organising committee has introduced a precongress dailysis
access workshop tailored for paramedic to deal with the daily challenges faced by
our dialysis nurses.
We hope this meeting will provide the platform to share ideas, networking and
renew friendship.
Finally, we would like to extend our thanks to all the speakers, sponsors, Ministry
of Health Malaysia and all who have contributed in one way or another to ensure
the success of this meeting.
