Learning continued in the 5th session of our 1st Batch English Learning Series with a fun and interactive class focused on the names and types of fruits and vegetables.

Participants practised vocabulary, pronunciation, and everyday communication through simple activities designed to build confidence in daily conversations.

For refugee communities, language learning is not only about classroom knowledge. It also supports daily interaction, self-confidence, and better access to everyday spaces such as markets, schools, clinics, and community services.

Participants in our tailoring class continued building their practical sewing skills by learning how to join clothing pieces neatly and attach zips as part of basic garment construction.

The session focused on strengthening hands-on techniques, improving accuracy, and building confidence in producing finished wearable pieces.

Skills training like this supports women and community members to develop practical abilities that can be used at home, for self-employment, or as a pathway towards income generation.

Throughout April, PSPK distributed a total of 4,480 kg of vegetables to support families and communities in need.

The vegetables included baby red potatoes, kangkung, bayam, long beans, daun sup, bitter gourd, radish, cabbage, and mixed vegetables.

Consistent food distribution efforts like this help improve access to basic essentials while strengthening the community support systems we continue to build across the areas we serve.

Small efforts, when sustained, can make a meaningful difference.

The session brought together local Malaysian and refugee participants, with guidance provided in Malay to support understanding. This inclusive approach ensures that those who need the support most are able to follow the lesson and build confidence in using English in everyday situations.
