Hon. Amb. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade, undertook working visit to Malaysia from 20 to 21 April 2026. The objective of the visit was to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries focusing mainly on enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy, trade and investment, health, tourism, environmental protection and natural resources management, and education. The Hon. Minister and her counterpart also exchanged views on international issues of mutual interest.

On Thursday, 17 April 2025, the High Commission of the Republic of Namibia to Malaysia hosted the 35th National Day Reception in Kuala Lumpur. This momentous occasion was graced by the Honourable Datuk Chan Foong Hin, Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities of Malaysia, as the Guest of Honour. In attendance, were also the former Malaysian UNTAG Military Observer Group & UNTAG MALBATT 17 RAMD, who served in Namibia from 1989 to 1990.

A Book of Condolences has been opened at the High Commission of the Republic of Namibia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in honour of H.E. Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, Founding President and Father of the Namibian nation, following his demise on 8 February 2025, in Windhoek, Namibia.

The members of the Diplomatic Corps in Kuala Lumpur are flocking to the Mission to pay their last respects to the late distinguished Founding Father and Father of the Namibian nation.

Amongst Ambassadors, High Commissioners and/or Representatives that have so far visited the Mission to sign the book, were from Egypt, Zimbabwe, Türkiye, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, South Africa, Kuwait, Ghana, and Georgia.

All Namibian registered voters in Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Timor Leste, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Pacific Islands, and Australia, are kindly invited to cast their votes for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections at the High Commission of the Republic of Namibia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Voting will take place on 13 November 2024 at the Polling Station at the High Commission. The Polling Station will be open from 7 am to 9 pm.

All eligible Namibians aged 18 and above living in Southeast Asia are invited to come and register at the High Commission.

The Registration Point will be open from 8:00am to 7:00pm.

Applicants should identify themselves by producing one of the following documents:
1. Namibian Identity Document, and/or
2. ⁠A valid Ordinary Green Namibian Passport
