A wonderful evening of conversation, music and artistic passion with Maurice Steger, renowned Swiss recorder virtuoso and conductor, hosted by Ambassador Chantal Moser at the 🇨🇭 Residence ahead of his performance with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO).

It was a lively exchange bringing together friends and guests from Malaysia’s music, composer, dance, performing arts and cultural communities. We had the opportunity to hear more about Maurice’s love for the recorder and Baroque music, and how composers of that time drew inspiration from the sounds of nature.

🇨🇭 Happy Swiss National Day! 🇨🇭

What a wonderful evening celebrating the 735th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation at the Swiss Residence in Kuala Lumpur!

We were delighted to welcome our Malaysian partners, members of the Swiss community, political leaders, diplomatic colleagues, business, civil society and media representatives to celebrate our National Day together.

Switzerland and Malaysia have different histories, societies and institutions, but both countries have in common to be multilingual, multireligious and multicultural, a diversity that we embrace in our national identity. The evening was an opportunity to celebrate the partnerships, connections, and shared values that continue to bring our two nations closer. 🇨🇭🤝🇲🇾

It was our privilege to welcome our Guest of Honour, Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs), and Dato Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, President of the Senate, for joining us on this special occasion.

More than 350 guests enjoyed the vibrant and convivial atmosphere enriched by the traditional Swiss raclette. Among them, it was a pleasure to welcome Swiss athlete Louis Margot, currently undertaking a solo, human-powered journey around the world. What an inspiring adventure!
