This gathering place will be open to the public to host meetings, art displays, workshops, films, theater, concerts, discussion groups, and educational presentations. El Recreo will be dedicated to the appreciation of literature, art, music, dance, film, and theater, and to the promotion of reading among children. El Recreo will host activities in both Spanish and English and will welcome all resi
dents and visitors. El Recreo will feature:
• A small cinema/theater run by Mazatlan Film and Theater
• Spaces suitable for meetings, workshops, and small classes
What activities can you expect? The activities El Recreo offers will ultimately be determined by the imagination and creativity of the community. Possibilities include:
• A regular series of quality international films
• A series of play reading performances and possibly small theatrical productions
• Music concerts
• Children’s book groups in Spanish
• Short courses and lectures
• Art exhibits
• Book discussion groups
• Other small meetings of local interest.
