The High Commission of India in Lilongwe organised a special yoga session on 05 June 2026 at DMI - St. John the Baptist University (Lilongwe Campus) in the run up to the 12th International Day of Yoga on 21 June, 2026.

The session, attended by students and faculty members, highlighted the benefits of yoga for physical well-being, mental health and holistic development. Students actively engaged in various yoga practices and learned about the importance of embracing yoga in their daily routines. The event also provided an opportunity to promote awareness about the positive impact of yoga on stress management, improving concentration and overall wellness.

The event also featured cultural performances by the students of the University, showcasing their talent and adding to the spirit of the celebration.

Together, let us embrace yoga as a way of life and celebrate on 21 June, 2026.

Following the yoga session, the University organised a tree plantation programme to commemorate World Environment Day (5 June). The High Commissioner, together with Vice Chancellor, faculty members and students of the University planted saplings in the University premises, reaffirming shared commitment to nurturing a greener and more sustainable future.
