*Malawi Showcases Agricultural Export Excellence at the 98th Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show*

Malawi is proudly showcasing the quality, diversity and export potential of its agricultural products at the 98th Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show (ACSZ) 2026, taking place from 29th July to 3rd August 2026 in Lusaka, Zambia, under the theme "Fostering Trade and Investment."

Facilitated by the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC), Malawi's participation in one of Southern Africa's premier agricultural and commercial exhibitions reflects the country's commitment to expanding regional trade, strengthening commercial partnerships, and unlocking new export opportunities for local businesses.

Representing Malawi at this year's exhibition is Ulunji General Dealers, a proudly Malawian company showcasing an impressive portfolio of high-quality agricultural and value-added products. The display features premium rice, beans, groundnuts, chia seeds, sesame oil, cocoa oil, and a variety of indigenous herbs, including gondolosi, roselle (hibiscus), and moringa. The company is represented by Rita Nthabiseng Sibande, who is engaging with potential buyers, distributors and business partners from across the region.

MITC remains committed to connecting Malawian businesses to regional and international markets by facilitating participation in strategic trade exhibitions, investment forums and business matchmaking platforms. Through these initiatives, the Centre continues to create opportunities for local enterprises to showcase their products, build strategic partnerships and expand their reach into regional and international markets.

🌍 *Empowering Farmers for Export Success!*

The Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC) had the privilege of delivering a presentation to over 100 farmers from Mchinji and Lilongwe during a farmer engagement meeting organised by CISANET under an Oxfam Malawi-funded initiative.

The session focused on equipping farmers with practical knowledge and market intelligence to access regional and international markets, including:

✅ Available export market opportunities within the region and beyond.

✅ The importance of working through farmer cooperatives to achieve the volumes required to meet export demand.

✅ Maintaining high quality standards and reliability to remain competitive in international markets.

Speaking during the engagement, MITC Trade Facilitation Manager, Mrs Tawina Mbalu, emphasised that access to market information is key to unlocking export opportunities. She encouraged farmers to collaborate through cooperatives to meet the quantity requirements of international buyers while consistently maintaining high-quality standards. She further highlighted that reliability in supplying quality produce is essential for building long-term relationships and trust with export markets.

MITC remains committed to empowering Malawian farmers with the knowledge, market linkages and trade information they need to expand their businesses and successfully compete in regional and global markets.
