The Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services is establishing District Road Safety Committees across the country as part of its commitment to strengthening road safety coordination and interventions at the district level.

Today, the establishment exercise is taking place in Mwanza and Salima Districts, bringing together key stakeholders to enhance collaboration in identifying local road safety challenges, developing appropriate interventions, promoting road safety awareness and supporting enforcement initiatives aimed at reducing road traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities.

Through these committees, The directorate is promoting a coordinated and community driven approach to road safety ensuring that stakeholders at district level actively contribute towards creating safer roads for all road users.

Road Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility. Together, Let’s Make Our Roads Safer.

ROAD SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.

Here's the truth: hazard lights are a warning, not a permission slip. They tell other drivers "something's wrong here, be careful”. They don't give you the right to obstruct the road while you run your errand.


They're meant for genuine emergencies or obstructions such as a breakdown, not a quick stop for Dowe

Next time you need to buy something on the go, find a proper pull-off, a parking bay, or ask yourself, would I still stop here if there was 040 watching?
