PPDA FOR STRATEGIC GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION
The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) on Wednesday 5th August attended the Co-Creation workshop which Government organized for Public Relations and Communications Managers and Officers for State-Owned Enterprises, Statutory Corporations and Government Agencies.
The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and was held under the theme Building Effective Communication for National Development.
Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Dr. Shadric Namalomba emphasized that communication is no longer an accessory to governance, but an essential pillar of good governance, public accountability and national development.
Director of Government Communication Deogratias Mmana implored on the communications experts in the parastatals not to work in isolation, saying they have a responsibility to deliver on the National Development Agenda through the respective mandates of their institutions.
Speaking on the significance of the workshop, PPDA Public Relations and Communications Manager, Mandy Pondani, described it as timely as the Authority continues to champion one of Government's Public Procurement Reforms through the Malawi National Electronic Procurement System (MANePS.
The workshop further provided an opportunity for participants to explore emerging issues affecting public sector communication, including crisis communication and institutional branding among others.
Communication
